We're going to see The Accountant 2 at 3:15 then we will go next door to the Buckhorn Grill & Tavern for their Caesar Pleaser which is grilled tri-tip and a huge Caesar Salad. So yummy!

jeremysgirl , I know this is redundant, but please call your acupuncturist tmw am. You'll get amazing relief. I hope that your pain goes away, quickly. You sound so miserable and sciatica is awful stuff. sueg , you're hopefully, sound asleep as I type, but I'm truly sorry that your plans are screwed up. Linda , you must be very proud of your wonderful dd. Tearisci , your mom looks so happy. It's nice to see her up and ready to go. naby64 , wtg at the DMV. littlemama , ITA about Costa Rica. It's gorgeous and the people in the Panama/Costa Rica region are so friendly. Dh and I are celebrating our 30th w/a luxury cruise. Do something really special.
**GypsyGirl**, I was wondering the same thing as teddyw about your dh? That he sold his car made me wonder if he's feeling that his life is not w/in his control? Does he have a friend or more that can visit and encourage him? My heart goes out to you, my friend.

An xray in 1950 at the hospital was $3.50 Can you even imagine? In my older brother's adorable baby book (our Mom was a scrapbooker for her first 2 babies !), she kept the cancelled check to the doctor for his delivery and circumcision. The total was $200.00. I don't know how insurance worked back then, and I always meant to ask my Dad about that. Was the $200.00 a co-pay, or the entire amount ? Ugh, sooo many questions I wish I'd asked my parents, and now I can't. I also loved that Mom saved the label of the champagne bottle Dad brought to her room to celebrate. Can you even IMAGINE hospitals allowing that now? Mom probably had a few ciggies immediately after giving birth, too. On a related note, my baby brother was born prematurely; my Mom had either placenta abruptio or placenta previa (she started hemorrhaging while Dad rushed her to the hospital, and they both almost didn't make it). As a former NICU nurse, I would LOVVVVe to see brother's medical chart---especially the nurse's notes! I don't think they had the technology/ machinery back then like I was used to working with (cardiac/ breathing monitors, IV fluids, blood sugar monitors, etc.) My Dad's only recollection is that baby brother was in an incubator and tiny--(he ended up being healthy and 6'2' !!!! ) I worked with an awesome, older nurse back in the late 90's, and she said "all we did with premies was put them in an incubator and pray). She also told us that it was NASA that invented all the medical monitors---just amazzzing---I LOVED hearing her stories about nursing before all the modern marvels. Things are plodding along with DH. He's being difficult and refusing to get out of bed into his chair most days. I also immediately thought depression---he has been through SO much. Do you think he'd be willing to speak with a therapist/ maybe a support group with other patients who've been through such difficult times? Not to mention support for you, as his caregiver. (( hugs )) jeremysgirl....Hope that pain is a "one-off" and goes away quickly !!!!

I had a LONG day subbing LOUD grade 7's today at my teacher friend's school (not his classes) ... I taught grade 7 for more than 25 years and never allowed that much noise ... ugh! Sounds absolutely exhaussssting! I know NOTHING about teaching, (except that I admire teachers SO much). Why are they so loud? Do they not listen while you're speaking? Or listen to you when you ask them to quiet down? Or, if there's an assignment they're supposed to be working on, do they not know how to be quiet? I also have to ask----are their phones allowed in the classroom? That would drive me insane, seeing all/most of the students with their faces in their phones? Linda....What a nice honor for your daughter. I always wonder if teens say they're embarrassed, but deep down, they're thrilled that someone documented the special occasion?** I remember my niblings sometimes not wanting me to take their photos as teens, but LATER---as adults, they are THRILLED that "Aunt Toee" documented such a special event. **I'm not a parent, but I've always read that even though rebellious teenagers SAY they don't want any limits/ discipline; deep down, they DO want it...it shows their parents care . I definitely have no real-life experience--- but wondered if other parents agree.

**GypsyGirl**.....Although I'm 99.9 % sure you already know this --- there are support groups via zoom, so Mr. Gypsy wouldn't even have to leave the house. Maybe he'd consider anti-depressant medication, too? I attend grief / depression groups all from my ipad. They are facilitated by excellent, credentialed therapists/ psychologists/ social workers.

Oh my goodness you guys! I just read that shingles can present without a rash. I was reading and that's what it feels like, like rug burn. Like my clothes are making me uncomfortable.

Can you get into a doctor today? My cousin had them and she didn’t have a rash. I didn’t want to play Dr Google with you because sometimes advice given can be wrong.

Can you get into a doctor today? My cousin had them and she didn’t have a rash. I didn’t want to play Dr Google with you because sometimes advice given can be wrong. I just sent my doctor a message. It looks like internal shingles have a blood test to diagnose. So hopefully the office will call me soon. There is a high rate of complications with this type of shingles too. So I want to make sure that this isn't it. ETA: christine58 thank you for saying this.

That was my first thought when I read your original post. I have had sciatica when pregnant and did not feel any burning and rubbing clothes did not cause discomfort. Hoping you get an answer and some relief soon.

It looks like I am probably past the point now where anti-virals would do anything helpful. But the lidocaine patches the ER gave me are great.

She doesn't like to be singled out or inconvenience anyone so she was genuinely embarrassed to have her dad track down why her name was missed AND be called up individually at the end of the ceremony. But she WAS happy with the photos and that she was acknowledged. I'm not a parent, but I've always read that even though rebellious teenagers SAY they don't want any limits/ discipline; deep down, they DO want it...it shows their parents care . I definitely have no real-life experience--- but wondered if other parents agree. I don't know about all but my kids (who weren't esp. rebellious) definitely preferred limits and expectations - even if they didn't in the moment. They certainly all preferred teachers who maintained classroom discipline - their favourite teachers were always the stricter ones.

Welp! I have a small rash on the front of my hip and on the back of my hip. In the places where it's been feeling like rug burn since Friday. Sigh. I called my doctor's office back and gave them the update. I'm waiting for a call back. I swear peas are better than doctors sometimes. Love you guys!
