Hi everyone! I haven't got many plans for my day today ... I'm doing some laundry and catching up on some TV ... I do have a date tonight though! He's my age and seems nice ... we'll see! I haven't had good luck lately so I'm not holding my breath. We are going to my fav restaurant so at least I will have the dinner that I like ... mini steak sandwiches with a wonderful au jus! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... my Costco certainly doesn't have staff that look like this! How are you feeling today scrapmaven? How are you feeling today bc2ca? How are your parents Tearisci? How is your dh **GypsyGirl**? It is sunny here and going to be hot! Getting up to 26 degrees Celsius! Then tomorrow is rain! What is the weather where you are? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Well that kid isn't even my type leannec! I'm into gray hair, facial hair and the dad bod. No but seriously I'm at the point where it feels wrong to even look at a kid that young and think about being attracted to him. I just can't. I'm all dressed up today. Because I tried on all my pants and a pair of tan dress pants irritates my shingles rash the least. So I put on a nice blouse, a cashmere sweater and ballet flats. 🤣 I look great. DSD and I are going to the pottery guild sale. So getting out of the house. I will make chicken meatballs for them and baked tofu for me. Roasted carrots, rice with a green spinach, lime, cilantro sauce.

leannec good luck on the date tonight! jeremysgirl I keep meaning to say how sorry I am about the shingles. It could be worse: my hairdresser got them in her vagina! My parents are doing pretty well today. Mom is supposed to be released around 1:30 to go back to her facility. I'll meet here there and help her get settled in. I hope it's on time because she had to wait 3 hours last time and she was very tired by the time they got there which sparked a whole set of issues. My sister told them that if it's after 2pm, they will have to keep her another day. We don't want a repeat of last time. I'm supposed to go to a bridal shower at 3 but I'll probably skip it because I'll be helping mom get settled. I'm not really into them anyway, so it's no big loss if I can't go. Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I'm waiting to see if my brother has my dad covered and how my mom does. Hope you all have a great day!

Omg! Shingles in her vagina? Tearisci I cannot even imagine. Mine goes from my waistband down into my hip and upper thigh on the right side. It's the very worst in my bikini line. I hope you can get a little break today.

I hope you can get a little break today. A family member had it in their mouth, one eye, and along their face. 😬 Dh had it years ago on his back/side. At first I thought a spider but him. He went to UC and they said nope that is shingles. He was on the antiviral and because ds can't have the chicken pox vaccine (his first dose sent him to the ER with a severe reaction and cluster seizures with 104-105 fever), we had to be super careful. The open blisters can easily spread the virus to others. He wore dressings on them as they oozed and once dried up was cleared.

Just check in to say hi. Too much going on behind the scenes that I pretty much just give my Alpha guess score and read 1 or 2 threads and that's it.
Calendar is booking up with a lot of new specialty teams for ds. Adding back ones we graduated from and adding in new ones. Just adult versions now. We can always be added back to peds though. Sometimes they do that. 😐😔
Thankfully he was well enough to enjoy senior prom yesterday and was crowned Prom King.
Today he has a special choir event for the National PTA Convention.
Dd received a special award with her museum last month for their annual volunteer employee dinner. She has definitely found her niche. So important for those with Autism.
Giving hugs to all who need them.

Thank you for asking about me, leannec. I caught a cold. I'm just laying in my recliner and feeling irritated w/myself for not resting more the past 2 weeks. I brought it on myself. I'm going to attempt knitting in a bit and I'll just rest today. I do see a long nap in my future. Enjoy today everyone. Tearisci, It's good to know that your mom is going back to her apartment.

I hope you can get a little break today. Ugh, that sounds awful. Were they able to give you anything for it? I took the day off from the parents yesterday as I was just exhausted. I feel rested and better able to cope today. My mom does sound really good and hopefully she'll be able to hang out with some of her friends if she gets back at a decent time. Hopefully, the transport isn't late!

But I declined because I finally feel like I've got my mood back on track. I am taking the antivirals.

The fish fry was delicious last night. Although I had to stand in long line, I went back for seconds! We went to my brothers afterwards for a bit. He lives just around the corner from us so it wasn’t a big trip.
Today is cold, gloomy and drizzly. We are supposed to have rain every day until Wednesday. I’ll be very cranky by then and ready for some sun shine.
Supper will be grilled steak.

Hi all, checking in late today because I was out with a new friend.
This morning DH and DS2 spent a lot of time on a FaceTime call to organise DS’s flights to come visit us. He will be flying Melbourne - Munich with me when I come back from my important Oma visit in August. We were lucky and are able to sit near each other. Because it’s Emirates Business class, the seats are staggered, so I’m in 14K and he’s in 15J - there is no 14J or 15K. There is also a lounge area at the back of BC, where we can sit and have a drink or snack together.
After that, we watched the coverage of the Australian election count. Both the boys were also watching back home - DS2 had arranged a viewing party with a few work friends! The banter on our family chat was mad, especially as the results became clear. Overall, we think it was a good result. Similar to Canada - the right wing party, who looked to be ahead just months ago, fell over their own feet and the center left government won, though unlike Canada will have an increased majority. The conservative leader - who was never very well liked - also lost his own seat.
This afternoon I met a new friend to visit one of the traditional market fairs here. We had a treat for afternoon tea, wandered a few rows of stalls, then finished with a beer and burger at one of the food stalls. I found a lovely teddy bear, dressed in a Bavarian sweater for new grandbaby and a gift for my step mum, whose birthday will be while I am over there.
Have a great rest of the day!

We are back from the semi-annual yard sales in our community of 4000 homes! We lucked out big time! I will share pictures later but we bought several pots for plants and the last guy gave us some pots/saucers free! A little 3-tier stand to put some small succulents on. Some other people gave DH a neat trash enclosure for the garage, I got a very much needed lamp for my craft room and 3 wire baskets with brass handles for our MBR closet. We're pooped! The garage sales go unto 3PM but everything is pretty picked over by now. Dinner might be soup. Finally got one, not impressed!

Sooo, if you have kids, you can spare them that with the vaccine.

I can’t even fathom vaginal shingles. Ugh that sounds awful.
It hasn’t stopped raining since last night. Of course I’m regretting planting my garden. It’s 50degress today!
Dh decided to start the tile project by our outside basement door. We went and picked up all the supplies.
Went to the farmer’s market in the rain. Tried a new bread vendor. Our favorite opened a bakery across town. It’s not the best. Unsure if we’ll give him another try. Made a sheet pan of veggies with kielbasa for dinner.

I am headed out in a few minutes to an early dinner at a nicer pizza place, followed by a movie at the theater across the street from the pizza. We are seeing Sinners which I understand is very good. I hardly ever go to the movies so it better be good. Sorry I have missed so much of what’s happening in people’s lives lately. Life has just been crazy and won’t be getting any better for at least a couple of weeks. jeremysgirl, I’m so sorry about the shingles!! ugh

bright and sunny today with strong wind.. did tons of errands (post office, grocery, drug stores, dry cleaner, then furniture store, then hardware store)... and when I arrived at post office.. they were on break for 12 min.. so I just had to wait. mailing packages. . I think I have everything ready for my class.. I have to drag out all the camping gear..all waiting in basement to load in car in morning. the camp will have goats onsite eating vegetation.. so that will be fun. we have a 1 acre camp in the city of San Francisco. so I do my class there. It has a big lake across the street. about 1 mile from the zoo.
last night was japanese takeout.. so we are having leftovers for dinner. dh is going to a didgeridoo concert tomorrow.. then out to dinner with a group including the artist so it will be whatever is in the fridge tomorrow for dinner for me. dh actually plays them.. and has about 5 of them. he can't sing but also does tuvan throat singing. it used to be a great threat "kids.. if you don't get up, I'm going to start throat singing"... it worked fast.
hugs to all --being sick, having shingles, having challenging parents, having your own health challenges..
my dil will consult with a surgeon end of next week, so we just have to wait.
And... big cheer, I went out and bought a storage unit (fine piece of wood furniture) from my fav furniture store at 45% off... it will replace a cabinet I got off craigs list years ago... it stores my grandmother's china.. and this one will store much much more.. tall and thin . goes in my study. dh didn't mind at all.

jeremysgirl, I'm so sorry about your shingles, and I hope they clear up soon. My sister had them a few years ago, mostly on her shoulders and upper back. It was summertime so she was able to get away with tanks/camisoles and sundresses (and a lot of staying home) so as not to have clothing irritating her skin for the most part. lucyg, I've heard about how good that movie is from quite a few who have seen it. I haven't seen it yet, but I want to! I am getting over a cold I caught earlier in the week so taking it easy today, just doing little things around the house and working on a scrapbooking project. Dinner will be chicken thighs in herb sauce.

DH wanted hot dogs, so hot dogs, macaroni salad, and crispy potato circles (basically mini, circle shaped hashbrowns) were dinner tonight.
Mostly lazy day here. I spent a few hours over a weekend last month die cutting letters and numbers for date ranges for my 2025 Project Life album, and then put them all through the Xyron earlier. Realized I missed about 12 letters and numbers, but that sounds like a project from another day.

Today is our 29th anniversary. We got takeout Thai food because we just didnt feel like going out anywhere (we went to 2 Menards earlier lol). Our Thai restaurant is struggling because the city it is in decided to completely rebuild the public parking lot that serves that restaurant and several other restaurants and businesses, as well as one of the 2 main roads where you could access those places.

Jeremy is on vacation this week and he's going to get the garden going. I'm a nervous wreck about planting early. Did you plant early?
