Yeah it’s bad, I reckon. Not specifically because both have nuclear weapons - knowing that may well mean neither will use them because of fear of direct retaliation - but because it’s yet more of world involved in armed conflict/war. It’s horrific.

Yeah, it's not good for sure.
It was supposedly in retaliation for an a recent attack on Indian tourists and was, in India's eyes, done and dusted after this strike. An eye for an eye but of course, its likely to lead to further attacks now.

I feel that I used to be one of those people who when I saw or read that we (our country’s dignitaries type people) were visiting or engaged in talks with other countries that it was overall a good thing and done for good reasons, or to help facilitate some good somewhere. Now when I hear we have visited someplace I am holding my breath to see why or what the outcome is…and I am now pretty sure it won’t be good for anyone, US included.
It is AWFUL to have your first thought when you see a headline be…well Vance just left from a visit there…of course they did. 😞😞

While I can't stand Vance, I am not sure what this would have to do with his recent visit. It was a response to a terrorist attack in India. India says that they targeted terrorist areas, but of course Pakistan doesn't seem to be in agreement with that. I think we have to see if this escalates or not.
That being said, I am concerned that we (the US) seems to be escalating in the middle east as well, particularly in Yemen, and fighting with Israeli's. My mom said that some troops from her area are being deployed to the middle east for a year. That makes me wonder what the military is up to.

I know this…all I am saying is that thoughts like this truly flash through my mind when reading and seeing the news daily…and that is purely because of how the Trump administration operates and their policies. This war has been a long time in coming - with tensions going back to like 1947 with land disputes. Vance didn't do anything to push it forward - it's honestly not good for the US for this to be happening. Im guessing the military is going to protect the US mainland from any of that mess coming here. And for those that care, there are Pea Military moms whose children are preparing to be deployed for a year to places in the Middle East. While it's not my child being deployed (at the moment), she is a Pea who posts here. ____________________________ I have been watching this mess with India and Pakistan for a bit now and while I agree, this is really not good -- I am really concerned that China is going to misbehave while everyone is watching India and Pakistan. Hands down, I worry more about China than India/Pakistan. |

That was my first thought when I heard Israel was ramping things up again. |
