scrappintoee, good luck w/your MRI today. I wish you healthy, pain free days ahead.
Today I'm home and just relaxing. I'll work on my puzzle and knit.
Dinner will be enchiladas for dh.
What are you up to today?
What's for dinner?
How is everyone doing today?
May today bring better news for those and their loved ones who are suffering, happiness and good energy for everyone.

I tapped out early yesterday and did not come back and read the thread until this morning. My heart goes out to **GypsyGirl** and Mr. Gypsygirl. The two of you are just really going through some difficulties. I will not say I don't know how you are holding it together because people say that after a death too and my response is, what is the alternative? We have to just deal with our obstacles and move forward even if it's hard. Big hugs because this is hard. I might step away from the board for a little while. Maybe pop into the craft thread a bit here and there. It really isn't anything major going on, I feel well, but my head just feels "full." I think I need an internet break maybe to reset my brain a little. It's not even the politics so much, it's just I feel like I want to focus on some things in my real life for a while. I appreciate all of you, my friends. Mom is having dinner tonight. She is making italian sausage in a red sauce over pasta. My sister will be bringing a loaf of bread and a birthday cake for Chloe as her birthday was last Friday. I'm taking my own food. I'm having a spinach wrap with crispy chickpeas, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, quinoa. I also have a bottle of vegan ranch. (Don't tell anyone, but I add a little wasabi powder to it too.) Mom says she doesn't mind that I'm bringing my own food.

jeremysgirl, you have do what's best for yourself. Though I would miss you here, I also understand that when you focus on something you are very successful. Do what makes you happy and gives you peace. If you take a break then you know where to find us and we'll leave your chair at the table.

**GypsyGirl** sending you and your dh lots of hugs and surrounding you with positive thoughts. I hope you are taking care of yourself. As someone who has to be brave a lot to handle things parents shouldn't, I get how hard and tired and overwhelming and frustrating and angering medical stuff and caretaking can be. Know I am in your corner and praying for peace and calm (as much as there can be).

I hope dinner goes well tonight - yours sounds delicious I'm in the midst of overhauling my craft room/office/reading space...so tonight we'll have the mini meatloaves, green beans, and summer squash I didn't have energy to make last night

Happy Thursday! Thank you all for the prayers, thoughts and good wishes. They are very much appreciated. Will head to the hospital about lunchtime and see how things are going. I know last night that they had 4 different departments checking him out so I suspect there will be lots of testing today. They are treating an infection in his lungs and sorting out his respiratory because his co2 levels were high again. That's because he was refusing to use the bi-pap for the past few weeks. Thinking of all you that are dealing with your own problems and issues. Even if I don't post daily, I do try to read and include you all in my prayers. Dinner tonight will be a chicken pot pie (frozen) and rice and watching last night's episode of The Amazing Race. Good old comfort food and mindless tv!

Continued prayers to **GypsyGirl** and DH. jeremysgirl do whatever you need to do we’re here when you get back. I will say that the dinner your mom‘s fixing sounds really good. Dinner is leftover lasagna that’s in the freezer that I made about a week ago. I just spent another hour sorting through scrapbooking stuff and trying to decide how to arrange my scrap room. This is taking me way too long.

**GypsyGirl** positive thoughts for you and DH. I know how wearing it can be to be a caretaker! jeremysgirl You'll be missed but you've got to take care of yourself first. I've had a busy morning. My dad said he was too week to make breakfast so I went over and made him some waffles and he drank a protein shake. He seemed to be getting around ok so I think he was just lonely. His lease is up in July but my sister and I talked and I think we're going to move him to her house next weekend. He needs to be around people and not sitting and obsessing over everything. His mind is his own worst enemy. I brought it up today and he wasn't that receptive but I think he'll come around. They are out of town this weekend or we'd move him then. My sister talked with the social worker at my mom's place and told them they need to be more on top of mom's BS. She's been high most of the morning but is getting ready to head to PT so that will probably make it decrease a bit. The nurses need to be in touch with the doctor more and he needs to be aware that she is high or low most of the time if they don't manage it correctly. She's too brittle to treat normally and they need to be aware of that. Not sure what I'll be doing the rest of the day. I got most of my work done early this morning. Dinner will be a homemade hamburger helper type of meal. I told my dad he could come over or I'd bring him some later but I hope he wants to get out. I did go to my favorite ramen place for lunch as it was by where I ran errands at lunch. So good and now I'm very full! Hope you all have a great day!

Praying for a quick resolution to this issue for your Dh **GypsyGirl**I hope your mri can get you a treatment plan scrappintoee. Pain is awful as you well know. Had jewelry earlier. I want to make this name necklace for dd. The online gold one I found is $800. First I need to finish the ladles I started. I’m forging the handles but I can’t do that for very long. Taking dd & Juliet to do her errands. Unsure about dinner currently.

After a beautiful sunny day yesterday, winter has moved back in. Today is cloudy and cold. WTH is going on with this weather??
After making the decision to have my wedding diamond and band resized but not wanting to spend the money, I was surfing around on Amazon. I found ring sizers which are plastic coil like things which you wind around the bottom part of the band. (Think back to grade school when we wrapped yarn around a ring). They arrived last night and they work so well! My rings fit perfectly now and no fear of losing them. I’m so happy to be able to wear them again after losing weight 1.5 years ago and having to take them off for fear of losing them. And the best part…they only cost $6.99 and free shipping!
DH is grilling himself sausages tonight and he will grill me a steak. I will make some sweet potato fries in the AF to go with my steak.

so I did like two things before 9 am and totally forgot I had my annual eye exam.. they still were happy to have me come in 20 min late.. quiet day. slight change in contacts.. all is healthy.
my bloodwork came back good too!! my dil saw the doctor for her thyroid, the doc says probably precancerous.. so good early detection.. has surgery in June. so that is good.
dh is in for a heart procedure tomorrow all day (out patient).. there is a bit too much on my plate right now. put my old cabinet on nextdoor/facebook. lots of interest so I should get rid of it today or tomorrow. one less thing in the house. seriously. need to do cleaning and organizing today
hugs to all.. everyone today needs one.. dealing with health or not!!! the fog was thick this morning.. now it is off the coast.
dinner is probably breakfast for dinner.

Happy Friday eve dinner friends! It's been such a hectic week! **GypsyGirl** sending healing vibes for your DH, I hope it is a short stay in the hospital and an even smaller setback for his road to recovery! I still want to meet up again when life settles down for you. jeremysgirl we will miss you, but totally understand you need to do what is best for you. I often read the thread but sometimes I just don't have the energy to type a post. Even though I'm not the most active participant of this thread or board, I genuinely care about each member of our table. DH has requested Mahi-Mahi for dinner, so I'll bake that with some veggies and rice or grains of some sort for dinner. Wishing everyone a great day!

Because it seems to be a weekly thing with my parents, my sister is taking my dad to the ER today. He's very dehydrated and weak so maybe they can give him some IVs and stop his diarrhea.
My poor parents can't seem to catch a break. I feel so bad for them.

Hi friends! Sending love and hugs to one and all.
We're in the home stretch before conference (20 days to go til day 1!), so it's crunch time over here.
This week's dinner is sort of inspired by something DH saw on YouTube. It's chicken with Olive Garden Italian dressing and some cream cheese. It's not my favorite thing we've ever made, but it's a little better with some seasoned salt on top. I also added mushrooms and onions to stretch it out for the week, but I don't think I'll make it again.
I had a second opinion visit at a different cardiologist yesterday about my PCP's concern for tachycardia. Apart from waiting for what seemed like ever to actually get anything done at the appointment, I had an EKG. Long story short, I am getting another echo in June. If it's normal, then would treat symptoms; if not, then another cardiac monitor. Echo will also rule out tachycardia induced cardiomyopathy (AKA, fast heart beat that can result in heart failure) and also check for pulmonary hypertension (make sure my lungs aren't the reason for the fast heart rate). Oh the joys of being 35.

I used that exact same thingy on my rings for years! Worked great! Now that I'm divorced, I don't wear the wedding band at all and I wear the trinity diamond ring on my middle finger instead ... it isn't my engagement ring ... I was given it for my 40th birthday many moons ago! Positive thoughts going out to you **GypsyGirl** and your dh! The same for you and your parents Tearisci! I hope your scan went well today scrappintoee! Take all the time you need jeremysgirl! I began a stretch of subbing that runs from today until next Thursday ... same school, same classes ... it went well today other than one grade 9 class of jokers who had someone who thought it was funny to huck a marker at me when my back was turned ... ummmm, no. . I raised my voice and completely shut that behaviour down! Not even an option! Luckily, my day was over at 2:30 pm and I live only 12 minutes away! Dinner is up in the air ... might be a wrap containing salmon, fresh lemon juice and romaine ... sounds yucky but it's so good!

ntsf , you have way more than enough on your plate. I'm sending good thoughts for an easy procedure and quick recovery to your dh. Thankfully, they caught your ddil's thyroid issue before it became even more serious. Take care of yourself while you're taking care of everyone else. rymeswithpurple , I hope that you get good answers sooner rather than later. Nice to see you here. Tearisci , does your dad's doctor have the ability to do infusions at the office? That could save you both having to go to the ER. At this point, anything that makes all of your lives easier is a win. austnscrapaddict , though I know you're a busy lady it is a treat when you are here. teddyw , how is adorable Juliet doing? I just love her name. How is your dd doing? Refresh my memory, is Juliet Luke's little sister? What does he think about the new baby?

Since he's not a lot older than his juniors and seniors they try stuff that just boggles my mind. I am gobsmacked by some of the stuff that goes on in classrooms nowadays. Ya, I know, "you kids stay off of my lawn". Do you face the level of disrespect that I'm hearing about when you are in the classroom? Since when do students tell the teacher what to teach that day? Ods doesn't give in, but they keep nagging, anyway.

If he lived near me I would give him all the advice I could! I chalk a lot of my success with behavioural issues to plain old experience ... I taught for years in very challenging schools ... my last one was the most difficult ... I have seen it all! (A set of grade 7 twins with one trying to choke the other out up against a wall; many pushing and shoving fights that needed breaking up; my partner teacher had a student set off bear spray in her classroom; being told to F-off often and students slamming out the door if they didn't get their way). Remember this is junior high ... When I sub in high schools I see very little negative behaviour ... it's refreshing! I do think that your ds has his age against him ... students are more likely to listen to an old lady with RBF!

leannec , yikes. Od's student teaching experience was really rough. His cooperating teacher was really into the politics of the district, but didn't give ods the necessary skills to run a classroom. He didn't work on lesson planning or classroom management. It was during the pandemic and the only thing ods was told was to make sure everyone wore their masks, ignore phone usage and be grateful that some kids show up to class. It was a really bad school district and experience. I tried to talk yds into not taking the assignment, but he thought it would be OK. It was a really difficult situation. So, he's had to learn a lot on the job and it's been a rough go, but he loves teaching and I hope he'll find a great fit. He's getting a lot tougher, but he has a way to go. This year his job is temporary. The regular teacher was out on leave all year. Ds loves the district and the kids, but funding was cut and the department is cutting teachers. His admin told him that if she could keep him on board she would do so. ARGH.
Btw-my RBF can beat up your RBF. I don't negotiate w/terrorists, drunks or teenagers!

Tearisci , does your dad's doctor have the ability to do infusions at the office? That could save you both having to go to the ER. At this point, anything that makes all of your lives easier is a win. That's a good question and one I don't know the answer to but should find out. They think his anxiety is causing most of the issues. All he does is sit and worry and catastophize. They're sending him home with an antibiotic and Ativan. They gave him some Ativan in his IV and it totally took away the bladder pressure. On a funny note, he loves the hospital's meatloaf and wanted to be admitted for dinner. My sister is getting takeout from a local down-home type place so he can have his meatloaf. On another good note, my mom is texting which is always a good sign. She's not been eating meals and getting into her snack drawer which is causing her BS to go up. I had a talk with her and we'll probably have to take the high carb snacks away for awhile. I'm on solo parental duty this weekend and I'm a bit scared!
