I am excited about a few I have this year! I have tickets to meet Fredrik Backman tomorrow and later in June wine and appetizers with Kristin Harmel that I am looking forward too, they are two of my favorite authors. I have concert tickets to see Rod Stewart and Billy Joel performing at PayCor Stadium. Rod Stewart has been a bucket list for me and I wasn't missing him this time. We got 6th row seats that cost us quite a bit but it is worth it to me. I also have tickets to see Thomas Rhett. And I am wanting to buy tickets to see Rob Thomas who is coming to town. My oldest grandson is turning 13 this year so we are in the stages of planning his big party. My daughter is getting married in October in a castle in North Carolina.

I am looking forward to a long weekend in Lisbon at the end of the month. I’ve wanted to go for most of the time we’ve lived here and am ridiculously excited about it. This is the first of many trips this year. In late June we’re off to Sardinia for a week, then I’m off to Australia to welcome our next grandchild. DS2 is coming back with me to spend 7 weeks travelling Europe. Depending on where he decides to go, I might travel with him on some or all of them. His plan is to use Munich as a base and do several 10-15 day trips to different areas. At this stage, he’s looking at Italy, eastern Germany and Poland and possibly Portugal/Spain

Canceled two big summer international trips in planning stages because…
GRANDBABY in July!!!!!
My daughter and son in law and I live on opposite coasts- so I’m reserving all available PTO to spend with them.
A (very) long weekend shortly after she’s born, and then at least one longer visit in the early fall.
We are also planning an epic destination “first Christmas.” The kids are super accomplished travelers and 30+ yo parents… so if this is what they say they want—- well… that’s what we are likely doing! But I am definitely taking it with a grain of salt that they may decide they’d rather stay home, or come here or his moms (we both live on the east coast while the kids are on the west coast.)
I’m sure we will still do a couple short getaways and concerts. But right now, prowling consignment stores for baby clothes has been an obsession.
*** my nephew and his girlfriend are also expecting- but not until late fall. As of right now- I’m the only one that knows, so I’m picking up super cute gender neutrals for a fall/winter mid Atlantic weather baby.

Big thing is our trip to Japan in October. Beyond excited for that!

Keeping it local this year so a week in Ogunquit, ME in July. Just bought Lord Huron tickets at the Garden in NYC the end of July. That’s it so far. We're trying to decide whether to stay or move after DH retires so we may be taking short trips to scope out locations.
ETA: Oh yeah, forgot we're going to the Outlaw Music Festival in Hartford in September, mainly to see Sheryl Crow. I've seen Willie and Dylan before.

I’m finally using my Segal Award I got from my (RIP) AmeriCorps service for two moths in Italy near the end of the year to study Italian and art. It has been sent and accepted, just in the nick of time.
It will be the last big adventure in my life.

DH and I have tickets to an Eagles concert at The Sphere in Vegas on Halloween night this year. That sucked up pretty much all of our Fun Budget for the year, but it should be a great time 😊

We are heading to Point Pelee National Park for the migrating Bird Festival for the weekend. This is where the birds like to cross Lake Ontario coming north as it is the shortest distance over the lake. It will be the 3rd year we have gone. The Festival is 3 weeks long and we usually go in the middle. Love photographing birds and other wildlife. It's supposed to be beautiful weather.

What is GLO golf? Indoor golf (bowling and arcade as well) in a low lit center with black lights and equipment that glows in the black lights. We have been 3 times now and it is a lot of fun. On the course there are things that move and make noise.

You've got lots of concerts coming up hutchfan , I'm jealous! I usually have at least one concert booked, but after our last one in March, we don't have anything booked. One of the airlines here had a sale the other day, so I booked flights to Tasmania for DSO's birthday in February next year. The last two years we have gone to Perth and Sydney for his birthday. I guess that's our tradition now! I will probably be going to New Zealand for work next month. I am trying to swing it so that I am there the week before our King's Birthday long weekend, and get DSO to fly over for a short three or four day stay. Canceled two big summer international trips in planning stages because… GRANDBABY in July!!!!! How exciting, congratulations! We had dinner last night for my niece's 19th birthday, and my dad was reminding her that he was in Italy when she was born. His trip had already been paid for well in advance, so they weren't going to cancel it.

My close friends, who have helped me out so very much during my divorce, two of them even letting me live with them at times, are coming over to my new house tomorrow for brunch. I'm so excited to have them all here! I love entertaining, and it's been way too long since I've really been able to.

My youngest finished college this month. She isn't walking because she doesn't want to, but she has a senior show to display her work and network for a job. I'm looking forward to attending. At the end of this month, we are taking the new graduate, her boyfriend, and our aging dog on a 12-hour drive to the beach so the dog can see waves. She's obsessed with moving water, and since she's slowing down and feeling her age, it's probably now or never. And yes, I know it's crazy to plan a vacation for a dog. It may be the last vacation with the youngest as she finds a job in her field and possibly flies the coop. DH and I are going on a short cruise out of NYC in late August, and got a ridiculously good deal on a hotel in San Francisco in October. So I may be back looking for places to eat there. We know what we want to do, but food is another story.
