Simple Stories paper with small cut a parts. I have acquired a whole bunch of these from various collections, and don't ever use them. Just curious if anyone uses them, and do you cut them apart or use the whole sheet as one paper. A question to keep the board moving ETA: for anyone who doesn't click links, it's a 12 by 12 sheet of paper with a 5 by 5 grid of different themed images kind of like flash cards but square. Simple Stories includes at least one paper of them in every collection pack.

I mainly use the main side but have also used the small cut apart as a background as well as have cut them and used them as embellishments or on tags.

It really just depends on the theme, the images on the paper, and what I'm making with it. For this one in particular, I would probably use the B side and not even use the front. For other collections, I have cut apart the squares and used a few that fit my pictures/theme. Usually as a layering piece. I've seen people use them in mini books almost like an alphabet book, even though the whole alphabet isn't there.

I will sometimes cut a whole strip of them to use as a border... there are some from echo park with seed packs or birdhouses.. I used part of it as border... then I used some of it as matting around a matted photo... i like 2 or 3 mats.. lol...
for these I might use the different letters on a grandchild page with thier initial in a cluster..

Sometimes I do for a Christmas line especially if they are cute. I got the paper from VB's Cut & Paste Collection with the tiny square boxes of different patterns (actually purchased two pieces) and just love it and cant wait to use it.

Lots of great ideas, here. I think I remember Paige Evans doing a whole workshop on creating a two page spread by deconstructing one like this. It was a Christmas LO I think. My own fav construction was to scrap a family game night, using these squares as a border all around plus a path through. I will check my photostream on Flickr to see if I can find it... Here it is, finally! and just the border shows LOL
I used the squared for an advent calendar to build this two page holiday summary LO
ETA another LO where I cut them apart and spread them out. Still looking for my game night LO...
Another LO with more muted squares used as a border and cut as if it were any other pp:

I would either use it as a background or fussy cut out the images, which I am doing more of these days, for embellishments.

If the theme works for my LO, I will cut them out and use them in some sort of embellishment cluster. I've been using 6x8 albums the past few years, so my pages are smaller, and therefore smaller embellishments like this make a bigger impact as a main embellishment as well.

I have never used SS 12x12. Their 6x8 pads have some pages that are 4 3x4 cutaparts. Jess Crafts often has good sketches for using them as focal images for cards.

I cut them into strips. I use one strip either horizontal or vertical as part of my paper design and usually build up on one of the squares with some kind of dimensional supply.

If I use them, I am more likely to fussy cut and use them in a cluster, or use one as a layer on a card.
I much prefer ptretty papers that I can use in a variety of ways. I feel the cut aparts are more limited.
Correction: the cut apart cards are hard to use. I do like the cut apart ephemera.

I’m also more likely to buy it for the other side. I have gotten some in collection packs and once or twice I’ve purchased a page because I love it and intend o cu out my favorite parts. When I get around to actually using them I’ll let you know

Yes, I use 2x2 squares. Allison Davis has some cute LOs using these, especially in some of her classes or sketches. This is my favorite: http://instagram.com/p/COJL2gWpuZw

I love a grid design, so I might use it for that. For me, the challenge is storing this kind of stuff so that I remember I have it when I have a need for it. I thought a lot about this when I was reorganizing my patterned paper and realized that this is a category where I actually would think "I need a cut apart" sheet (I'm thinking more of the Jen Hadfield ones) for a card or a grid design plan, but then stop because it's too overwhelming to try to paw through my stuff to find one. So, at first it would stay with the collection until I use the collection for a while. Then when I break it up, I have a storage tray called "cut aparts." I did have in mind more for the Jen Hadfield cut aparts that seem to clearly be designed to make into cards, but I am really pleased that I now have a little pile of them that I can put my hands on in less than 10 seconds. I've cut into strips or cut apart and layered several together. You can also fussy cut or punch with a circle punch to use as an embellishment.

kind of depends on what i'm working on. But always first check to see if b-side is usable as thst wouild be my preference, followed by tags images that might work on a card.

I might use a piece, or two, but usually use the b side.

I purchase patterned paper by the sheet & am not a theme scrapper, so I typically do not buy/use these 2x2-ish papers (unless for the classic pattern on the reverse).

I wouldn't use that particular one but I have and do use similar cut-apart sheets - sometimes for cards, sometimes as part of my page design, sometimes as embellishments...and sometimes for the other side, lol.

I don't usually buy many of that type of pp (depends on the design) but of the ones that I have purchased I cut apart the different sections and use them as embellishments. Good question @breetheflea.

If you've ever gotten a free kit from one of Scrapbook Generation's free kit weekends, you'll notice that Debbie always uses cut apart sheets (usually 3x4) as a design feature. She mainly fussy cuts them to use the icons as embellishments on the layouts.

I cut them apart and include them in embellishment clusters, if the theme works. I think they are very cute but have yet to use a full sheet.
