Hi everyone! Well, I've come down with a cold! Boo hiss! I am working all week beginning on Tuesday so I had better be feeling good by then ... Tomorrow is a holiday here in Canada. My day will be spent surfing the internet, watching TV and doing a bit of laundry ... Dinner is up in the air ... This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I always have at least three bread products on the go at any given time! Love bread! What about you? It is a very overcast day here today ... what is the weather like where you are? How are your parents Tearisci? How is your dh **GypsyGirl**? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? How are you feeling cadoodlebug? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Well we’re back in the hospital with my mom. She had a super low blood sugar overnight and they transported her to the ER. She also has a bit of pneumonia so they are going to keep her for a few days.
Just waiting for a room right now to get her settled.

Good morning. I'm sorry that you have a cold, leannec. Hopefully, it's just a small cold and goes away fast. Rest and take good, loving care of yourself today. Cute meme. I've been diligently working on a puzzle. I hope to finish it in a day or two. It'll be a quiet day. Dh has rechauffe Chinese noodle soup for dinner. Have a fun, relaxing day, tribe.

I'm sorry about your mom Tearisci . I hope your cold clears up fast leannec . My back is still bothering me. I have periods where it's okay then it starts hurting again. I couldn't walk very far on our walk this morning. The weather is beautiful. Dinner is undecided.

I've got to say Tearisci you're scaring me a little bit. After the kind of caregiving I have had to do for my children, I'm quite unsure whether I could handle that level of care for my parents. I am just so worried for you that you are completely run ragged and overwhelmed. ❤️ I missed the thread yesterday. I was doing garden related running around. Jeremy is out there working today. He also mowed the lawn. I am doing laundry. I cleaned up the kitchen too. And I've been crocheting. I needed to take a break from quilting for a bit. I felt a little overwhelmed with the last project. And I just don't have an idea of what kind of new project I'd like to do. I've got a ton of supplies. I just need the spark. I am making creamy white beans for dinner tonight. Chicken for those two who don't want beans. Roasted potatoes and asparagus.

My siblings help a lot and my sister is the main person. My dad just moved in with her yesterday so I’m on mom duty today. I’m pretty mentally run down. It is a lot but what choice do we have? We’re all they’ve got.

Good evening all, Normal Sunday here. Mass this morning, home, a walk and football on TV while I knitted. This is the last weekend of our regular football season, so I don’t know what will accompany my weekend knitting from now until late August! DH is actually home this week - his planned meetings in Brussels were cancelled. He’ll still be out for dinner a couple of evenings, but at least he’ll be home to sleep. Dinner tonight is chicken on the grill, with grilled vegetables and caprese salad. Tearisci - I will continue to keep you and your parents in my prayers

Tearisci , we must have posted at the same time. I term what you're going through "parental volleyball". It is exhausting and I think you could add an extra massage to your calendar if you wanted to. cadoodlebug , would a massage help your back? I'm sorry that you're still in pain. sueg , I wish you a truly good week w/your dh.
jeremysgirl, I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day. Taking a break will give you a chance to jump into your next quilting project with enthusiasm.

We are smoking 2 chuck roasts today. Im eager to see how they turn out. Ive made potato salad and will put together some baked beans in a while.
It looks like where we are going next week will be having about the same weather as here, so that is a bit disappointing. Im looking forward to warmer weather!

Tearisci I suffered PTSD from parenting my children. The idea of having to care for anyone again is overwhelming to me. So when you post about your parents I just...well.. I feel bad for you and your sibs.

Funny you should mention that. I'm waiting until 10 to call the spa connected to our sport's club to see if there is any chance of me getting in today. Probably not but hopefully I can schedule one for Tuesday. jeremysgirl, I've been meaning to tell you that I bought some cilantro seeds and DH planted them in a pot for me. First time trying to grow some herbs.

They couldn't take me today (I figured that would be the case) and they are closed on Mondays so I have an 80-minute massage schedule for 2:30 on Tuesday. I'll ask for the hot stones!

cadoodlebug one thing I realized growing cilantro last year is that there's never enough. 🤣 I'm doing cilantro in like half of my herb planter this year simply because there's never enough. Well look who Chloe just brought home.

We went into the city this morning to do some errands. The protective glass on my camera lens on my phone was cracked so I wanted to get it fixed. I love the guys who have a phone fix it store in the mall. They always give a discount if you pay cash and always do the repair, not just sell the part. Also got my glasses tightened and bought a couple shirts at Old Navy.
Tomorrow is a statutory holiday. There were unexpected fireworks last night which scared the crap out of Walker. He also broke the back door trying to get in. I feel so bad that he gets so scared. I’m going to order some thunder ears online for him today but I foresee him pawing at them to get them off.
Weather is crappy and will be all next week. It’s cloudy and cold. Not sure what happed to the wonderful summer weather we were having.
Supper will be pulled pork on perogies for me and rechauffe chicken for DH.

Cold and wet here today, had to turn the heat back on. Spent a few hours in the online scrapping meetup on the Scrapping board. Will continue playing in my scrap room til the hockey game tonight. No dinner plans, rechauffe for DSO and I’ll decide when I get hungry. Have a great Saturday!

Chloe's new puppy is adorable, jeremysgirl ! Looks velvety-soft. Tearisci , I hope things go smoothly for your Mom in getting the latest flare-up settled and that you can get a much-needed rest (mental and physical)! Caregiving is exhausting. Ran some errands earlier, and now working on some crafting. Dinner will be tortilla soup with chicken. leannec, I hope you feel better soon, along with all the other peas suffering from one malady or another. Also, forgot to add that DH's doctor scheduled him for an endoscopy and colonoscopy early this week and told him to eat all the gluten he wants over the weekend so they could test his system again - last test was 1 year ago, and the recent blood tests they ran last week came back negative for Celiac...so it seems there's a small possibility he doesn't have it. He never did have symptoms and has been GF for a year until this weekend. We gluten-splurged and treated ourselves to a nice Italian restaurant dinner Friday night - he was so happy to have "real" lasagne!

They did an echocardiogram on my mom and found that her heart wasn't 'releasing' like it should. This is a new issue because every time she goes in, they perform one on her.
I really hope it's something that doesn't require surgery because I don't think she's strong enough to withstand it.

Hi friends! Sending love and hugs to all.
DH and I had rice, fish, and peas for an early dinner.
I packed my mama hen bag for conference, and will pack my clothes on Saturday afternoon. I always take a bag of things I've been asked for before at conference so in case someone on staff needs anything, I will likely have it (bandaids, Neosporin, anti-itch cream, Advil, Qtips, wrinkle release spray and Tide pen, pads and tampons, lint roller, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, cough drops - basically, the works).
I also got myself a gnarly cut the other day I'm keeping an eye on. Slept on the couch a few nights ago. Our couch is falling apart. When I was getting up, my arm slipped between the butt cushion and back cushion into the crevice between them and scratched against one of the thick wires that holds the couch together. Dug in there a little and also scratched my arm. I did get a tetanus booster in '21, so I'm not worried about that, but I did email my PCP just in case she thinks I need to do anything than do my best to ignore it and not pick at the scab (because I totally would).
Hope y'all have a great week!

I have a friend who has celiac and if she were to eat real lasagna or anything else with gluten in it, she would be in such pain. So I bet he doesn’t have it.
