They were not shooting live rounds. They were shooting blanks. Blanks do have a small amount of gunpowder to create the visual flash and the bang of gunfire but blank rounds do not have a projectile. The only person in danger would have been anyone with a body part actually leaning on the gun's muzzle... they would get a little bit of a burn from the powder flash. Still, they knew what they were doing was wrong. They were supposed to be playing a part in a theatrical type of action about a battle with pirates. Not just puttering around in a different area shooting off blanks for fun. |

But my guess is they will be removed from instructor duty which being an instructor is a huge career boost. There is a LOT of competition be get an instructor slot so you are seen as the "best of the best". It is an accomplishment that makes their work record look top notch for years to come. To be removed prematurely as a disciplinary process will end up being a career killer. They may not get kicked out of the military but that big boost up the career ladder just busted the rungs of the ladder. They can consider the rank the hold now to be the highest they will likely ever hold. It is possible they might lose some rank but not too likely since it was blanks and no one got hurt. |

You know the military and what should be done.... There is not much should be done today. They will move on.. They are following their great leaders, FF and hegseth. |

I wish y'all could have seen the look my former Marine husband gave me when I told him about this. If he hadn't already turned against the current GOP, what Trump and Hegseth are doing to the military would have been the final straw.
