Unfortunately, this is not possible as a state, we all pay federal tax dollars individually and the IRS could/would come after people individually. We do not pay the state & they pay the IRS so it’s not really possible to withhold taxes without penalty.

However if the feds are withholding the equivalent of FEMA funds, school funds, road funds et al, the states must be able to recoup those dollars to pay the state's expenses. Same as the feds not paying or withholding Medicare funds etc those dollars should be refunded to those that are entitled to it all.. most of us who are on Medicare pay a monthly premium which is withheld from our SS checks each and every month..

the lapd apparently put out a memo saying these protests were not a riot and the police could handle it. as one comment said, if the police are taking the side of the protesters.. you know something is wrong...


the addition of armed troops, big trucks, etc.. just make it worse. the lapd for all their faults, know how to deal with protests, and they know their community. trump is adding gasoline to the fire on purpose and wants to take more control

Reports this morning that the National Guard is using LRADs (long range acoustical devices) in Los Angeles. These have legitimate uses in some military applications, but used for crowd control in a city environment, they're associated with causing permanent hearing damage in people nearby. This is a weapon being turned on American citizens, make no mistake. As a musician, permanent hearing damage means the end of my career. For others, it's an irreparable injury being imposed by our military on fellow citizens, the vast majority of whom are doing nothing more than exercising their first amendment rights.
