The left sure likes to burn shit down-it’s like they don’t know what it means to peacefully protest. 🙄 How do you know it isn’t the right inciting the violence like what happened in 2020? That wasn’t all BLM protestors. Or how about January 6?

That wasn’t all BLM protestors. Or how about January 6? Not that that person has any logical thinking skills but clearly that video of the police or ice whoever he was shooting at the Australian reporter should show you what is happening. That reporter wasn't even facing them, she wasn't charging, them she was clearly not a threat yet he turned his body to shoot her. There is other video I can't remember if it was shared here or not of someone who was shot in the head with a rubber bullet by a police officer and the police officer is yelling at the protesters. Telling them it is their fault and that they need to call an ambulance and they need to give her medical aid. He told them he couldn't call 911 unless they moved back. They were not doing anything to him, he was perfectly capable of calling 911. He just chose to gaslight them instead. LA citizens were using their right to peacefully protest when The Tangerine Taco called in the troops. Something he didn't do on January 6th. I didn't see or hear any images or videos of LA citizens chanting to kill the vice president or caring a noose and gallows. But we all saw those images on Jan 6. Maybe the LA people were just touring the streets. Isn't that their right?

The Republicans are showing their desperation by flat out lying and using old videos. And Stephen Miller posted a clip of what he claimed were protesters at 7:30 am, before protests even started. Now they're time travelers?

Now they're time travelers? Well, they do have all that money from Soros. I mean if they can have a robot Biden built, time travel isn't that far fetched.

heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/june-8-2025Almost four million people live in Los Angeles, with more than 12 million in the greater L.A. area, making the protests relatively small. Nonetheless, on Saturday evening, Trump signed an order saying that “[t]o the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.” Based on that weak finding, he called out at least 2,000 members of the California National Guard to protect ICE and other government personnel, activating a state’s National Guard without a request from its governor for the first time in 60 years.
California’s governor Gavin Newsom said Trump’s plan was “purposefully inflammatory.” “LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice,” Newsom said. “We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no unmet need. The Guard has been admirably serving LA throughout recovery. This is the wrong mission and will erode public trust.” Newsom said the administration is trying “not to meet an unmet need, but to manufacture a crisis.”
Trump apparently was not too terribly concerned about the “rebellion”; he was at the UFC fight in Newark, New Jersey, by 10:00 p.m.
At 2:41 a.m., Trump’s social media account posted: “Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes and unrest. We have an incompetent Governor (Newscum) and Mayor (Bass) who were, as usual…unable to to handle the task. These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will NOT BE TOLERATED…. Again, thank you to the National Guard for a job well done!”
Just an hour later, at 3:22 a.m., Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass posted: “I want to thank LAPD and local law enforcement for their work tonight. I also want to thank [Governor Gavin Newsom] for his support. Just to be clear, the National Guard has not been deployed in the City of Los Angeles.”
At 6:27, Governor Newsom posted that he has “formally requested the Trump Administration rescind their unlawful deployment of troops in Los Angeles county and return them to my command. We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved. This is a serious breach of state sovereignty—inflaming tensions while pulling resources from where they’re actually needed. Rescind the order. Return control to California.” The Democratic governors issued a statement standing with Newsom and calling Trump’s order “ineffective and dangerous.”
There is real weakness behind the regime’s power grab. Trump’s very public blowup with billionaire Elon Musk last week has opened up criticism of the Department of Government Efficiency that Musk controlled. In his fury, Musk suggested to Trump’s loyal followers that the reason the Epstein files detailing sexual assault of children haven’t been released is that Trump is implicated in them. Trump’s promised trade deals have not materialized, and indicators show his policies are hurting the economy.
And the Republicans’ “One Big, Beautiful Bill” is raising significant opposition. Today Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) complained about the excessive spending in the bill for ICE, prompting Stephen Miller to complain on social media and to claim that “each deportation saves taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.” But David J. Bier of the libertarian Cato Institute on Friday estimated that the deportation plans in the measure would add almost $1 trillion in costs.
There is no doubt that as their other initiatives have stalled and popular opinion is turning against the administration on every issue, the Trump regime is trying to establish a police state. But in making Los Angeles their flashpoint, they chose a poor place to demonstrate dominance. Unlike a smaller, Republican-dominated city whose people might side with the administration, Los Angeles is a huge, multicultural city that the federal government does not have the personnel to subdue.
Trump stumbled as he climbed the stairs to Air Force One tonight.

Can someone explain Waymo to me. There is a photo out there of 5 Waymo cars that were burned over the weekend. All 5 cars are sitting in a row, not scattered all over the street. Do you have to call for a Waymo? Are they roaming around “looking” for a rider? Would someone have had to call these 5 Waymo cars for them to be in one place at the same time? www.reddit.com/r/LosAngeles/s/Mtc188Xe66

Now they're time travelers? They bank on low-information voters who want to believe this. Unfortunately there are a lot of them. I will always remember Fox reporting on Seattle “burning” while meanwhile I was standing literally where they were complaining about (a block from my office) eating a bad Montreal-style bagel and avoiding eye contact with the hippie who was trying to give me free books 🙄.

Ha! Yes all the talks about Portland being burned to the ground are hilarious to me as well. Portland is just fine thank you very much. Full of food carts, hipsters, ridiculous lines at voodoo donuts, cool street art and quirky people.

waymo's are popular with some and hated by many others. they do randomly (to me) show up places.. I will see 3-4 to sit on the side of the road in my non busy neighborhood why? who knows. they can be annoying to deal with in traffic. so they are an easy target.. as they are seen as some corporate making money taking away the jobs of drivers.
and when they park in a lot as a group overnight, they cause lots of noise as they have to beep as they are backing up.. and will do it for hours.
easy target. remember all of this is a very very small thing.. that the police are capable of dealing with.

Yeah, looking at some of them, they're clearly Meal Team 6 members who were unable to get jobs after their J6 felony convictions (and wearing masks keeps us from identifying them as such). So of course Trump hired them and we're paying them with our tax dollars to harass peaceful citizens and immigrants.

Heard some say that the protesters left and another group came in later and caused the problems snd violence. The same thing happened in 2020 in a city called La Mesa in San Diego county. I was watching the live stream. You see dozens of cars leaving snd then others coming. It was horrible to watch their destruction and I don’t know if any were actually charged. The looting was crazy and I would bet the same thing happened in other cities.
The violence is what he wants. He wants an excuse to use force.
Using the weapon that causes permanent hearing damage is horrible. So sad to see this happening.

I have to say I fear what next weekend will bring. It is just hit me, I will be in Ocean City, MD at an airshow on Saturday. Possibly Friday. My YDS is a Navy recruiter and will be working the air show in his job...what is that word? Anyway, at the recruiter's table talking to people. My ODS and I are flying out on Thursday. It hasn't really hit me but I suppose that would be a spot I should be diligent on keeping my eyes open?

Every air show we have gone to here in CA has had strick security checks, even in the 80s. We are going to LA this weekend for the NHM. Have zero anxiety about it

But from what I have seen and heard from people there, it was peaceful until law enforcement (not sure if it was LAPD or the NG) started shooting tear gas and engaging in violent actions themselves. THAT is what Trump wants. If you don't think that is going to escalate the situation, you are an idiot.
