Hi everyone! It's a sunny day here today so I will probably open my patio door and let some fresh air in! I don't sit on my patio because I don't do "outside"! It's supposed to get up to 25 degrees Celsius ... too hot for me! No plans today ... oh, I forgot to tell you ... Emma got her new car yesterday! A tricked out white Toyota Corolla! She drove us to dinner at the pub last night and it is so nice! Smells like new car! I have no plans today which is how I like it! Dinner might be Shepherd's Pie ... yummy! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I work with many many kids so it means a lot to me! How is everyone doing today? How is your mum Tearisci ? What is the weather like where you are? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody! ETA: Go and read KelleeM 's story about her Dad and pot pies he made ... it's on the Pot Pie thread ... so heartwarming!

Good Morning. For some reason the date is 12/10 in your subject line. I read yeserday's thread and I'm so excited about the little kittens, @gypsygir. I hope that you can post photos of the cuteness. Congratulations to Emma on the new car, leannec. Your daughters are thriving. ITA with your meme! Great one this am. Tearisci, I posted a long novel to your other thread. I hope that you and your family are finding some calm now that you have a plan in place and your mother is well taken care of. I'm still dealing w/the fatigue and shortness of breath stuff. I'm ok. Just not doing anything productive. It'll all be addressed this week. Dh is enjoying his photo class. There are only two students in the class and the teacher does not stop talking, so they're learning a ton. He came home quite happy. He wanted to take me home, but I insisted that he finished the course. It's nothing emergent, just very annoying. I have my inhaler and my sense of humor. Dh will likely pick up something for dinner. I am going to lay down on the sofa and binge watch ER. Enjoy today my lovelies.

Dear leannec - something is wildly wrong with your calendar today! Even taking into account America vs Rest of the World differences in how we write the date!!! The weather here has been wild today. It was damp when we woke up, but cleared a bit before we went to church at 9:30. After lunch - woah! The wind! We had bought some new plants yesterday, but not planted them out and we had to rescue them from flying away. It’s a bit calmer now, but DH is still not game to try to grill outside for dinner tonight. Dinner tonight is bratwurst, fried potatoes and possibly salad. Tomorrow is also a holiday here, so we will continue to relax. I have a few things I want to plan for our next trips - Sardinia on June 28, then Australia 3 days after we return from that. I think I now have everything booked that needs to be booked - first night accomodation (I arrive at 10pm: no way am I getting in a car and driving for an hour at that point) and a car with appropriate child seats for the duration and a pick up here to get me to the airport in the first place!

We just returned from a long walk. We hadn't gone that way since I hurt my back and were afraid we would miss our favorite garden along the way as we thought the heat would have made everything die. We were able to snap a few beautiful photos so I thought I would share. Dinner is up in the air until I go to Raley's.

DH and four buddies are off on an ATV ride. They will ride the tower lines and end up at a restaurant for lunch. If you drive past this restaurant in a Sunday, the parking lot is full of ATVs.
Walker and I are out on the deck enjoying the nice weather. Tomorrow is the track meet for Grandboy #1 but I think it’s going to be rained out. It’s close to my house so I can just walk over.
I need to grab my laptop so I can fill out the information form for Walkers play date at the kennel. I also need to cancel our private health benefits. Now that DH is 65, he gets prescriptions covered by the government plan. It’s not worth it for me to continue paying for the benefits for myself so I will just pay out of pocket.
Supper will be pulled pork on perogies.

Happy Sunday! The heat/humidity is unbearable today, even when I went out at 7 am. Ugh. Today I'm sorting through more photos and doing a bit more work in the guest room. It feels good to toss stuff, even if it is just duplicate photos. Headed over to DD's about 4 pm to play with the kittens and have dinner. I'm making one of my old standbys - chicken & almonds over rice. She's got a great new kitchen so we will put it to work. Best part is I can leave and go home while she has to clean the kitchen! I'm so excited about the little kittens, @gypsygir. I hope that you can post photos of the cuteness. I will be at DD's this evening and promise to get some photos.

Very hazy here due to the Canadian wildfires in fact we are under an air quality alert until tomorrow. This happened a couple of years ago also So today I am doing a little bit of scrap looking prep for the crap. I’m going to in about a month
Dinner might be the chicken barbecue. I picked up yesterday for our local cancer society’s fundraiser. I wasn’t hungry after I picked it up at 5 o’clock and just put it in the refrigerator. Have a good day everybody.

I really want my Dad’s chicken pot pie for dinner. 😢 Ds and I did the grocery shopping this morning and later he went out to help a friend. I am making egg roll in a bowl for dinner after watching a reel this morning. It sounded good. We will have it over basmati rice. After rain yesterday it’s gorgeous today. I am sitting on my porch for the first time this spring. It’s lovely. Congrats to Emma on her new car leannec. scrapmaven I hope you’re feeling better soon. hugs to all.

I made salmon cakes last night. dh went for a ride on his new ebike and he is out today too. our toaster oven died.. (it won't turn off so you have to unplug it).
so tonight is definitely takeout. another grey day. summer in full swing.
daughter in law and son volunteered at world pride in Wash DC yesterday.. son shared a video of him driving a golf cart all over the main capital area. his wife is on the main organizing committee so of course he was volunteering. he is working today though.
take care everyone.

Love the meme leannec - so true dinner here is ham, sweet potatoes of some sort - either roasted or souffle, and green beans...and of course cantaloupe

Happy Sunday! I was hoping DS would get to go to World Pride in DC but he's traveling for work. I love that meme leannec and shared it earlier on FB. I'm not sure if I have any homophobes on my FB friends list but hopefully they'll leave since I'm posting a Pride photo each day. Today we met with the pastor after church. When we were making the decision about Hospice, my dad wanted to talk with him. We made the decision on Friday but he was still good in talking with us and sharing his personal experiences with hospice care with his grandparents. I held it together until he started praying and then I lost it. I still think we made the right decision but it's hard. After that, we all went out to brunch and then I took my dad to see my mom. She's doing really good today so it was good to see her in good spirits. My sister and her family are going to see the Lion King tonight so I'm having dad over for chicken piccata. it's really the only chicken dish he likes so I said I'd make it for him Hope you all have a great day!

Dh got fantastic tickets to a baseball game through work. When we talked about who would go, it was the 3 of us and then we werent sure who else. I told dh to ask his brothers and if they could both go, I would sit this one out. Thankfully they were both able (they live 2 and 5 hours from us and have younger kids).
They are on their way to ds' house so he can show the uncles his house and I am meeting then there with pizza.
All I asked was for a picture if the 4 of them at the seats. We shall see if they managed it.😂

I don't yet know what's for dinner, although I know I should already be in the process of making it instead of sitting up here on the computer! We might have honey-lemon chicken or chicken parmesan. Tearisci , hope things are going smoothly as you transition your mom to hospice care. I've only had periphery experience with hospice, but by all accounts it was fantastic care and helped bring comfort to the patient and ease their pain whilst giving family carers a bit of respite. ((hugs)) cadoodlebug , I love the flower pics. leannec , great meme. I've been scrapbooking and working on cards in between loads of laundry. Realized I never posted yesterday but I wanted to answer yesterday's question -- yes, this lactose intolerant gal loves cheese (lactaid tablets work well for me). I don't like super-strong and/or smelly cheeses (blue, etc.) and have never been a fan of brie or American ("cheese product"...shudder).

Took SIL to our local thrift store for its once a year 50% off sale. It was sooooo crowded! We got there at 11:59 for noon opening and there was a huge line. She has grandchildren so got lots of stuff for them. I just picked up a couple of tshirts for wearing around the yard. My DD lives close by and was supposed to meet us there but she couldn’t find parking so we just went to her place after for a visit. Loaded nachos for us tonight followed by s’mores at the fire pit. DSO had ankle replacement surgery last fall and while laid up he converted all his father’s slides from the 60s and 70s to digital so we have been viewing these with his Sister and BIL the last couple of nights - so many laughs! Hope you feel better soon scrapmaven! We also foster kittens but not since we moved. Can’t wait to see the little fluffs your daughter has.
