Do you/did you ever have an "Our Song" with your current partner/previous partner/passed loved one? Ours was Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel, not for any deep meaning, just because we both liked it. We still have the original vinyl album of that name from the '70s.

I LOVE that song but it’s not ‘ours’. Ours is Luther Vandross In your Eyes 😊

Ours is Thank You by Led Zeppelin. We happened to be out at a bar with friends listening to a live rock band. They started playing this song and we decided to dance. It's been our song ever since. I'm kind of partial to the Chris Cornell version.

leannec That's one of the first songs DH ever had me listen to when we started dating. We also realized once we were both listening to Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love" at the same time once. I don't think we really have a song we consider to be anything like that, but we did choose 2 of our favorites Beatles songs and a James Taylor song for our wedding (and then we just asked that the cellist we hired for the ceremony and reception play happy songs and add Beatles into the mix. Looking back, we both wish we had asked her to play Jay Unger's "Ashokan Farewell.") We listen to a variety of music together, and also like making silly lyrics about Bessie for them.

When we had our long distance whirlwind courtship, the songs that I always considered *ours* were Stuck on You by Lionel Richie and For the Longest Time by Billy Joel.

Can't Fight This Feeling by Reo Speedwagon. It was one of the songs played at our wedding. That is ours too! DH's cousin was supposed to sing it at our wedding and at the last minute he bailed on us.

I'm kind of partial to the Chris Cornell version. The Chris Cornell version of every song is usually far superior. His range and depth is so unique. 🤍

Our first dance at our wedding was to Follow You, Follow Me, by Genesis. My dh isn't as big into music as I am, but its a favorite. Off topic, but speaking of music. Im a big Beatles fan. One day in the car with my 3 yr old in the backseat, she told me how John sang Here Comes The Sun. I said no, its George. After a back and forth for a minute, I was like "I'm arguing with a 3 yr old about the Beatles". Then I was like " I'm arguing with my 3 yr old about the Beatles! She gets it! We still tell that story, she ll be 21 end of summer. And she still loves the Beatles.

This week, one class from our primary school sang Surfin’ Safari at the County Music Show. The kids were amazed I knew the words and stunned that I’d seen The Beach Boys in concert! edit - our news has just announced the death of Brian Wilson. The end of an era with the last brother gone. (sorry, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston don't count in my view). He had such a difficult life, RIP.

Ours is "Somebody" by Depeche Mode.
DH would probably also add "Dragula" if asked about our song. He's constantly inserting (blasting) it into my life, often at very inopportune moments. Feels a bit like a Rick-roll.

I'm kind of partial to the Chris Cornell version. This is my parents wedding song. My wedding song is is this love by bob Marley. I wanted something we would hear often. I think because of this it’s turned into more than a wedding song. We hear it often and get excited each time. My kids have songs too. My older daughters is wagon wheel. I add her name to it. My younger daughters is jump in the line. Also sounds like her name is in it.

Our song is Wonderful Tonight. We danced to it at my senior prom, the night we met. 🥰
Our other song is Left My Heart in San Francisco by Tony Bennet. That was our 1st dance song when we got married (we got engaged in San Fran).

DSO and I are not in the slightest bit romantic, so it's weird to me that we do actually have a song. It's Please Forgive Me by David Gray. The title makes it sound like a song where someone has done something wrong and is asking for forgiveness, but it's not that at all. It's definitely a love song. When we had our long distance whirlwind courtship, the songs that I always considered *ours* were Stuck on You by Lionel Richie That song always makes me think of my first love. He had that record, and I loved the song.
