HI everyone! Not a lot going on around here today ... I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night so I managed to do two loads of laundry (sheets and towels) and even got everything put away! Then, at about 2 am I was restless so I moved the furniture around in my living room! My couch is the kind where you can have the chaise part on either end so I switched it to the other side ... that meant moving my chair and coffee table as well ... so, basically, everything is reversed ... I will have to put it all back the way it was in December because the chair blocks part of the space I need for my huge white Christmas tree! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I am not a picky eater so my score was quite low ... 5 ... some items I have never tried but I know I would like them (mainly the fish and seafood ones) ... What was your score? Oh ya! I have a date tonight! I don't want to say too much in case I jinx it. He's really nice and he's cute ... he's my age and I like him ... we'll see how it goes! We are going for dinner to my fav restaurant ... I'm not sure what I will have ... How is everyone feeling today? How are your parents Tearisci? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good evening all, It is hot here today - we’ve hit 30C for the first time this summer here. We went out early to do the groceries and then did the necessary yard work - lawn mowing and watering - before it got too hot. It was so lovely that we ate lunch outside - our usual summer lunch; a mixed charcuterie plate with what ever bread looks good at the bakery. I’ve been knitting this afternoon. I saw a video on YouTube during the week about knitting needles that are supposed to ' be easier on your hands, so I bought a couple of circulars of the 3 the presenter rated in the sizes I need for my current and upcoming projects. The first arrived this afternoon, so I’m trying them on a hat for Lucia. Dinner tonight is Cajun spiced pork chops with a pasta salad. DH is getting the grill ready to go for the meat. I love that he takes control of weekend dinners when he’s home - it gives me a break from cooking and also changes things up a bit. He will often try to replicate meals he’s eaten while out or travelling, which is fun. leannec - I have eaten nearly everything on that list, except grits. There are 2 things I won’t eat again - oysters and snails (both texture issues) Today is my precious Lucia’s 3rd birthday. She also ‘graduated’ from Squid level at swimming, which means no more lessons with daddy or mummy in the pool with her - she’s on her own now!

sueg ~~ She has your eyes! Such a cutie, but most cute kids know how to be sneaky and get into trouble! My brother treated me to a large breakfast ~~ eggs, potatoes, bacon, ham, rye bread, 2 pancakes and fresh fruit. I brought half of it home so I will have that and make some more eggs and call it dinner.

I was tortured with gross food in Japan. There’s more stuff that I won’t eat there either.

sueg ~~ She has your eyes! Such a cutie, but most cute kids know how to be sneaky and get into trouble! . I wouldn’t say she’s a trouble maker, but life with Lu is definitely not boring. In the past month, she has ended up in ER because she fell while ballet dancing in the shower and kneed a front tooth askew. Fortunately, they were able to push it back pretty much into place. Then DS had to remove her from church because ‘her contribution to the liturgy was not appreciated’ - it seems she was doing gymnastics exercises in time to the music!

Any chance I can defend little Lucia by telling you that dancing is a G-d given talent? At our church, we currently have a baby boom, with about 8 kids three and under and a couple more due in the next few months. So, at times, things can be a bit noisy. Last Sunday was one of those days, and you could see it rattled our normally very chill priest. It was also Pentecost Sunday, the day we celebrate the sending by G-d of the Holy Spirit, 10 days after Jesus ascended to heaven. At the end, Fr Christof made a comment about it being great to see ‘our youngsters so filled with the Holy Spirit’ and I told him afterwards I’d pass his message onto DS. Their church is a hit more staid - many more older people and fewer young families.

Real quick, I'm sitting in the car waiting for DS to wrap up the Navy booth at the airshow. We really only saw a few planes before it getting put on hold due to weather. We sat in a spot inside to eat. Thought all was good and letting up. Nope. I have on a gauzy white top. It became see through pretty quick. We found a spot and bought a poncho just so I was covered. We will be back out tomorrow and I'm hoping the weather holds off.
I only scored 1 on the foods. And it's not a hard 1. Sardines. I might be talked into them at some point.
We are having steaks tonight.

6! Don't make me eat a raisin! leannec have fun tonight. sueg Lucia is the most adorable little mischief maker I have ever seen. I just got home from the protest. If you want to see pics the No Kings thread has them. I was super punished for that strawberry shortcake last night. In the past few months I've had pizza twice and then that. And every time my stomach has been wrecked. I think I'm actually lactose intolerant. Running back to vegan eating ... I will make that tofu asparagus pasta tonight.

jeremysgirl Country Crock has a really good plant based heavy whipping cream. It produces a great whip.

Happy Saturday!
It's been a busy one! Met my sister, BIL and dad for brunch this morning and then headed out to get my hair done. My stylist gets my family in all at once so we bring mimosas and snacks and make an afternoon of it. With everything going on with my mom, we were well overdue for a cut and foil. My hair feels so much better now.
I guess my sister got a call that mom was out in the hall naked this morning. She thinks sometimes that dad is in the next bed and she didn't want to disturb his sleep by changing in the room. They were able to direct her back to her room to get dressed. My dad saw her later in the day and she was more lucid.
Dinner tonight will be spatchcocked chicken from TJs with mashed potatoes, salad and bread.
Hope you all have a great day!

Had a road trip today with my bestie and our moms. We visited a fruit farm that has a small shop and restaurant. We had lunch there and then stopped at a park for a walk and dessert. My bestie and I grew up down the road from each other so our moms knew each other very well. It was very nostalgic for them to get together.
My mom is dog sitting for my son while they are camping this weekend. I should be the one staying there since I’ve been there to show her how to work the tv, the microwave, find the cat food, etc. Good thing I don’t live very far from them.
Supper was fish, potatoes and corn. Edited to add: 15 on the list. I’m a fussy eater.

I am not a picky eater so my score was quite low ... 5 ... some items I have never tried but I know I would like them (mainly the fish and seafood ones) ... What was your score? My score was 3. I am definitely not a picky eater, but these lists always include the three things I won't eat: liver (offal of any kind), oysters, and snails. I can't believe Lucia is already 3yo sueg ! She is a real cutie, love the photo. I only scored 1 on the foods. And it's not a hard 1. Sardines. I might be talked into them at some point. I love sardines, almost as much as I love anchovies! We feed our dog sardines, and I like to freak out DSO and DS by eating a sardine out of the tin while they're gagging over having to take one out of the tin to put in the dog bowl! I went grocery shopping on Saturday afternoon, and somehow I forgot to buy the steak I was going to use to cook honey chilli beef. Twit! So I used some of the rotisserie chicken I bought to whip up a quick chicken mornay.
