There is no question this country has problems that need to be addressed.
Having said that I wonder if the United States can survive 4 years of trump? Especially since there is little or no oversight on trump’s action which IMO are ignoring problems like climate change and making other problems even worse.
I don’t think it can survive unless the voters elect a Democratic majority in both the House and Senate so needed oversight can be done
Agree? Disagree?

Trump told us if we elected him, we wouldn’t have to vote again. I’m afraid we won’t have a choice in midterm elections, either he’ll stop them or rig them. I believe his presidency is going to fundamentally change America and that’s heartbreaking. A little orange turd shouldn’t have this much impact

Even if he is gone, Vance may prove worse! We need to take major actions at med-terms.

Oh, true comments from friends, Oh we survived the first time, so we can do it again, it will be OK. Inept people will not get appointed.
I said no the fucking way and I will not communicate with you on Faceb and it is not the same as last time. The Universities funding gone. Billions of dollars for NIH funding gone, which is our companies source of funding. NIH and CDC jobs, just gone. It would be best if dump just played golf the whole fucking time and did no policies and leave every thing as is. RFK needs to fuck off. He has no intelligence or qualifications whatsoever. Do you not know how this devastates the science community? All those student loans that I paid for to get a science degree and what? Now no jobs. How is this going to help my high school children going to college?

So I’m listening to the radio and they did a piece on the No King protests in the Bay Area.
One Republican they interviewed said the voters voted for trump because of good plans he had and now he needed to enact them.
My thought was what “ good plans”?

I wonder if these “good plans” include tax cuts for the rich and corporations and parades like this that cost millions of tax payer dollars at the same time cutting money to programs like SNAP that help feed the poor? Just not sure... Donald Trump's administration on Saturday was accused of promoting the Russian flag, on Flag Day. The Department of Defense over the weekend wished social media a "Happy Flag Day!" "Let us honor the emblem of our nation and the stars and stripes that unite us all. As we display our nations flag and reflect on the values it represents, let’s celebrate the freedom, courage and resilience that makes our country great," the department stated Saturday. The image attached to the post included two small images that appear to represent the Russian flag. The internet reaction came quickly. Geopolitics expert Jessica Berlin said, "Nothing to see here, just the United States Dept of Defense wishing everyone a happy Russian flag day."Economics professor Roman Sheremeta said, "The U.S. Department of Defense congratulated Americans on their Flag Day. Except the two small flags are russian." *** Ex-lawmaker Tom Malinowski said, "Call me old fashioned, but I think the Department of Defense posting Russian flags on Flag Day is a bit worse than some idiot waving the Mexican flag in LA."Academic Vincent Artman added, "Anyone who thinks the obvious Russian flags in the State Department's 'Flag Day' post are accidental clearly forgot when edgy little fascists working in the DeSantis camp 'snuck' a Sonnenrad into a campaign ad." "The people making this content know exactly what they're doing," he added. www.rawstory.com/trump-telling-russian-flag-day/

It is not just the United States it is the whole world - he seems to annoy every one he talks to so it will be a long time till the next election.

I’m not convinced at this point that the US - or the whole world for that matter - can survive one year of the current regime. He seems determined to start a war at any cost.

I think if we can make it to the mid-term elections in November 2026 we'll be OK. When the House turns back to Democratic control it'll be harder for the orange guy to get his plans passed into laws.

It’s so much easier to tear things down than create them. At this pace of destruction, it will take a very long time to build things back up again. Maybe not even in my lifetime.

It’s so much easier to tear things down than create them. At this pace of destruction, it will take a very long time to build things back up again. Maybe not even in my lifetime. Absolutely this. I now live in Germany, which was destroyed physically and politically in WWII. Even with the allied occupation and help with rebuilding, it has taken generations. It’s one thing to rewrite the constitution and get a parliament up and running, but quite another to rebuild the trust in institutions and other people that is destroyed by war and division. There is also the issue of brain drain - how many scientists and other educated people are leaving the US to study and work elsewhere; how many students are not going to the US, but to other countries. Once they leave and begin their lives abroad, getting them back isn’t easy.

He's not going to make 4 years. He is in very poor health.
I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. But true America will prevail. There is no way we as a whole can/will tolerate this nonsense for 4 years.

No we cannot survive 4 years of Trump. It's going to take more peaceful protests, more people speaking out and pressuring politicians. Non-stop pressure and demanding change. We cannot give up. It's going to be a long process to fix this mess and we need to be in for the long haul.

I will vote no. Not the United States as we knew it. He is actively destroying the world economy, he has destroyed relationships with what used to be allies and is showing no sign of slowing down.

Not sure my mental health can survive 4 years of him... It's only been six months and it feels like 4 years.
