Hi everyone! My date yesterday went really great! Can you believe it? Earlier in the afternoon he texted me to see if I wanted to go for coffee so we had a pre-date date! He had his dog with him because they were walking by the nearby river ... that meant that he had to drive alllll the way to the other end of the city, get ready, and turn around and come back up to my end so that we could go for dinner ... not a lot of people would be willing to do that! Dinner was awesome ... let's just say that he talks A LOT! Good thing that I'm a great listener! We were at the restaurant for three hours! We texted until midnight! So far, so good! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I didn't sleep well again last night ... nothing new for me! I drank coffee this morning instead of tea ... coffee seems to give me energy these days! I guess I will be buying coffee cream in larger containers now! Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Dinner for me will be the rechauffe salmon dish I had last night and just couldn't finish ... yum! How is everyone feeling today? Including our parents! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

How exciting that your date went well leannec! Hope it's the start of a little romance. I drink about 48 oz of coffee daily. Half regular and half decaf. Because of my bipolar meds, I feel nothing from the caffeine. I could literally sleep an hour after drinking. But it raises my blood pressure so I limit the caffeine a bit. I also have at least one cup of tea a day. I normally enjoy ginger tea but this new medicine it is making me feel nauseous so I'm auditioning other teas. Jeremy just left to go swimming with his kids. I'm going to shower and head to my sister's. My dad will be there. I most likely won't be eating plant based today.

Great news about your date, leannec. May this be the start of really good and healthy romance. Do you have a lot in common? jeremysgirl, enjoy your Sunday. I love coffee. When they tried to pull me off of it I took a strong stance. I gave up everything else. I drink 2 cups in the am and one cup of decaff at night. I don't care for tea, but I'll drink green tea or peppermint tea on rare occasions.

I'm so happy your date went so well leannec ! What kind of dog does he have? We walked about 2.5 miles this morning. This is part of our walk along the parkway near our house. We love how the trees have formed a canopy over the sidewalk. It is lovely when it's hot outside. DS didn't come up for the weekend. He couldn't get Friday off so it would have been for just one night. DH is glued to the TV for the US Open (golf) so it worked out well. DS will come up for the 4th of July weekend and we'll celebrate FD and DH's birthday. I don't drink coffee and occasionally drink green tea. Dinner will be tri-tip roast. Yum!

It’s a sunny warm day here with my ideal temp of 25 degrees C. I’ve done the regular household chores - vacuuming, dishes and a load of laundry. DH is off on an ATV ride with my brother and a couple buddies. I’m relaxing on the deck with my book.
I don’t drink hot liquids - no coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soup. Weird, I know. My beverage of choice is Pepsi Zero but I drink water most of the day.
Supper is unknown yet but DH will have a late lunch so probably a fend for yourself night.

Good evening, It has been a lovely but quite warm (OK - hot!) day here today. We’re supposed to be getting storms, but it’s nearly 7pm and they haven’t started yet. It’s been a regular Sunday - church, then home for lunch, then DH headed to the airport. Because of his flight timing, we decided to do our main meal for lunch and we had a delicious Thai beef salad. DH marinated the steak before we left for church, then grilled it once we were home. I made a salad with lots of the herbs were growing and then we had fresh chilli to sprinkle on top. I’m not sure if I’ll eat anything more for dinner - I don’t really feel hungry at this point. I’m watching my favourite football team play their first game in the Club World Cup - it’s not even half time and we’re 5-0 ahead! My favourite player just scored the 5th goal. leannec - I’m glad your date went well. Hopefully things continue to go well. I am definitely a coffee person. I do drink tea, but mostly when I don’t have an option or I’m not feeling well.

leannec I hope this is the start of a wonderful relationship!! I used to drink coffee every day but, about 3 months ago, I cut back and now can go for days without drinking any. I did have a pot this morning but had none yesterday. Dinner here is going to be an experiment. I will cube and brown some pork in a cast iron pan, add tiny potatoes, some sliced onions, minced garlic, seasoning and a bit of broth. I’ll bake it until it’s done and make some gravy to have with it. We have cooked corn on the cob that I’ll cut off and reheat. I hope it tastes as good as I want it to!

Glad you had a nice date, leannec!!! Hope you have plans to get together again! I too want to know about the dog!!!
I am taking DH out for dinner, I think we are going to our fav seafood place.

Hi everyone! We went out for Italian food last night and the food was delicious. I had carbonara and it had a side of filet on it. I was full. My dad had lamb and he easily had double what I had. It was so good!
He is engrossed in the US Open and loving every minute of it. The kids are watching F1 racing out of Montreal and it just started so they are excited.
Dexter and J are going to go for a walk and it’s a great Father’s Day.
Happy Sunday to all of us!

Happy Sunday! Glad your date went well leannec! I'm almost 8 years post divorce and still not ready to take the leap into the dating pool. I am quite happy living alone and not looking for a relationship! We took lunch to mom today and ate it in the conference room at her care home. It was nice to be just us and she was so good today. Yesterday was a tough one and I posted late in the thread yesterday that she was in the hallway naked yesterday because she thought my dad was in the other bed and she didn't want to wake him. He got the best father's day present though today since she was so good and with it. We're getting together at my sister's tonight for the holiday. I was hoping the weather would be better so we could swim but it's been pretty stormy most of the day. Hope you all had a good weekend and have a good week coming up!

I could easily go the rest of my life without coffee. I only drink it because Dh makes when he’s home. I add more milk than coffee. Only 1 cup that I drink maybe half of and no more during the day. On rare occasions I get a frozen vanilla latte from a local coffee shop near me. It’s like adderall to me. I can literally go for hours after one. I think I’ll get one tomorrow. lol I’ve been at the lake since Thursday with 2 DDs, babies,Luke and sils. I’m exhausted. Dinner will be bagels with bacon, eggs, veggies. Dh did nothing for Mother’s Day so I’m reciprocating. Petty I know but he was also very inconsiderate this weekend. He’s lucky I’m making anything. So excited your date went well leannec

How exciting that your date went well leannec! Hope it's the start of a little romance. This is the first time that I feel like someone actually likes "me", kwim? Great news about your date, leannec. May this be the start of really good and healthy romance. Do you have a lot in common? We do have some things in common ... a main one is that neither one of us are interested in camping! . Hotels all the way! We are both animal lovers and we are both into road trips and we both have 26 year old dd's named Emma! I'm so happy your date went so well leannec ! What kind of dog does he have? Tucker is a "Champagne" Labrador Retriever ... basically a brown Lab ... lighter than a chocolate ... leannec - I’m glad your date went well. Hopefully things continue to go well. Me too! I have dated a few duds lately! leannec I hope this is the start of a wonderful relationship!! We'll see ... I'm a "play it by ear" person so I'm not going to get my hopes up at this point ... Glad you had a nice date, leannec!!! Hope you have plans to get together again! I too want to know about the dog!!! We don't have concrete plans yet but I'm sure it will happen soon ... the dog is gorgeous ... he gets lots of walks so he's really fit ... muscular and. of course, so cute because he's a Lab! Glad your date went well leannec! I'm almost 8 years post divorce and still not ready to take the leap into the dating pool. I am quite happy living alone and not looking for a relationship! I've been single for about five years ... I joined websites right away and met some really cool people ... it's easy when you aren't looking for a relationship ... now I am at a different place ... it's harder to find those "unicorn's" ... Yay! Thanks everyone for supporting me through my dating journey ... this is a new guy that I like but I'm not holding my breath ... I'll just see how it goes! I actually like the independence of being single ... it's very freeing!

We’re going through all of my dad’s stuff and he has these penny postcards from his great grandmother that are dated between 1909-1917. We’re sorting them to out in albums
