We're going away for 2 weeks and I plan on bringing 8 pair. We will do laundry twice. We tend to pack in carryon only. No way in hell would I want to bring 14 outfits. I plan on packing 5 shorts and 6 tops. I always want more tops and underwear for some reason. I mean, if you shit yourself, aren't you going to need to change your shorts or pants too? I have no idea why I bring less bottoms than tops.

Underwear is small and can be fit in all the small extra spaces, so I donāt hesitate to bring along extra. I canāt tolerate any level of underwear sweatiness and āwicking underwearā really isnāt an answer either. As much as I like the idea of bringing my old undies and tossing them, in practice Iāve never really liked doing that. I find that ten minutes after putting them on, theyāre uncomfortable for one reason or another and Iām wishing I brought the newer good ones. The bigger related question is how many bras can you get by with for 14 days? I hate swamp boob even more than swamp ass, and I *HATE* swamp ass! 2-4 bras, depending on where Im going and what Im doing. Tropical location where Im going to be in swimwear most of the day and a bra only for dinner, 2, maybe 3.

Usually 4 more than the number of days-because I Like a fresh pair especially if it is warm! But for 2 weeks I would assume I would do Laundry somewhere so Probably 11 in all

I have no idea why I bring less bottoms than tops. Because I think for most people, theyāre probably more likely to spill something on their shirt than crap their pants. 𤣠At least one would hope thatās the case. When we took DD on a Disney Cruise at age 2.5 she had been wearing a light pink shirt on the day we traveled, and of course she managed to drip chocolate ice cream down the front of her shirt. š¤¦š»āāļø I didnāt have any extra clothes for her in our one tote that we had with us for the day (everything else was being taken straight from the airport to the cruise ship stateroom). I didnāt realize that when you first board the ship, Captain Mickey is waiting there for you to have your family photo taken. š± Yeah, that was going to look awesome, NOT. While we were waiting in line I quickly turned her shirt around so the clean back of the shirt was now on the front of the kid and the chocolate stain wouldnāt show in the photo.

Like others have said, I would most likely pack 16 - one for each day plus a couple of extras. If I was taking carry-on luggage only, I might halve that, if I knew I could get laundry done.

For bras - I always do like 3 sports bras, a t shirt bra, and some sexy bras

I was traveling for almost a month and lost count of how many I brought, but we did have laundry done so I know I didnāt bring 30. I also threw away some pairs. But for a weekend, see video for how Iād probably pack .

20. If I do a lot of walking, I'll usually shower again at the end of the day. that means fresh undies. So yeah, at least 20.

I've never gone on a trip that long that I didn't have access to a washer/dryer so probably enough for one week. I would need to wash other clothes as well.

I saw this post on threads and I was surprised by the number of people saying they would bring 30+ pairs of underwear. Several people said 40-50 pairs. I was wondering how big their luggage is, but I guess if they are thongs they don't take alot of space . On a trip that long, we almost always stay in a place with laundry facilities so we can wash. We are very active so for a 7+ day trip, I would take 10-12 pairs giving myself enough to change daily if I have been active or take a shower before bed. I don't want to have to put the same pair on. I will say I felt like I needed to buy more underwear after reading the comments .

I would never do that either, but there was one person who said that had like 90 pairs of underwear, and I was like, is that common?

The real question is, how many old pairs do you bring to throw away during your trip? I often bring old underwear and pajamas on some trips to throw away so I have more room in my luggage for souvenirs! (Most of the pjs have pinprick holes or stains, so while they are not "indecent" in case I have to evacuate in the middle of the night, they are not in a suitable condition to donate. ) Thatās a genius idea

I always take way more than I need, but for a two-week vacation I'd plan on washing stuff at least twice. No way I'm lugging around 14 days' worth of underwear OR clothes. Eight is probably about right. That's about how many I pack. I've even done a one month trip to Europe with just a week's worth of underwear. As for tossing old undies, I used to think that was a good idea but no longer do. All it ends up doing is burdening another country with my waste to deal with. And besides, I would not want to be wearing old, holey undies on a vacation. I deserve better!

We almost always book an apartment with a clothes washer in it or else a hotel with laundry service available. We value traveling light (and not carrying a huge suitcase full of dirty clothes around with us) way more than we value not having to run a load of laundry, I guess.

I just got off a 14 day cruise. I took 18. I could have pay for laundry halfway but its pricey (they dont have self Serve laundry on that line).

I wouldn't wash underwear in a sink unless there was some sort of disaster, and I had no choice. Every city we have visited has either self service laundromats or laundry services where you drop off your dirty clothes and they wash them for you. I research ahead of time so I have a couple options when we are on extended trips.

We've been reduced as a group to posting about underwear packing š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
It's either this or Trump!
I guess we've had all other discussions over the years because I certainly can't think of anything better to post. š
I'm out of town for MIL's internment/celebration of life, so, rather timely. Gone for 5 days, packed 7. I generally do one per day and a couple extra in case of sweating or whatever. And it's been 94/95 degrees in Iowa, so there's been sweat.
I forget about the wind when I'm gone for a while. So much wind! It's so beautiful to see the endless horizon again and the big sky, the green rolling hills, the silos and barns, and of course Casey's everywhere you stop.
Also, I got a side eye when I said "thank you ma'am" to someone roughly my age. You don't do that here, that's a southern thing that's just automatic to me now and shows respect. Oops. At least I didn't call her MISS Vicki, just Vicki. š¤

If we were going away that long we'd definitely be using 2 suitcases and we split our stuff between them in case one goes missing. So I'd pack 10 in each suitcase - it's a nice round number.

This is a timely question because in a few weeks I'll be going away for 14 days on a business trip/vacation.
I only own 8 or 9 pair of underwear, so I'll wear a pair and pack the rest. Mid trip I'll need to do laundry, so I can have clean underwear.

I only own 8 or 9 pair of underwear, So do you throw older ones away regularly, or just rarely buy new? Just curious

Usually a couple extra - this past trip my husband knew he couldnāt make 2 weeks in hot Japan - so we sent laundry. I wonder when folks are stressed about this is they realize the cost. He sent 3-4 shirts, 4 undies and 5 socks to a max cost hotel - $35 - less than a typical extra bag. In Costa Rica we washed a weeks worth of laundry for 4 for less than $20. Seriously relax and donāt think you need to do Sink laundry - Iāve never done it.

Number of days away plus the pair I'm wearing plus 1 pair for emergencies. We rarely go to places with laundry facilities, and anyway, who wants to spend any holiday time doing the washing?

We rarely stay in hotels for trips that are longer than a 3/4 day city break so if I'm away for 10-14 nights I'm in a villa or apartment and there aren't send out services and I'm not interested in finding a launderette. Me neither. I have 8 pairs of underwear. I also don't have enough clothing for 14 days. So I'd be doing laundry. Even while camping, most campgrounds have a washer/dryer and I do a load of laundry, if needed. I am also not opposed to wearing my clothing more than once, if I'm not terribly sweaty.
