Do you wash brand new underwear before your wear them?
I usually buy individual underwear that is out on a display rack, so I wash them before wearing. But even if I buy underwear that is packaged, I’ll wash them first before wearing. I am usually not ick-ed out by wearing unwashed new clothing, but I do have to wash new underwear.

I do if I buy individual pairs off the rack. No telling whose grimy hands have been all over those. I don't wash packaged ones unless they are bright colors with dye that might get on my skin.

I wash because the chemicals used in manufacturing irritate my skin. Most of my body can take the irritation but skin is not created equal; some is more delicate and thin than other places and gets irritated quicker.

I wash nearly all my clothing before washing, and undies are no exception.

I have to say it has never occurred to me to wash any new clothing or bedding or throws or anything other than towels before using or wearing them. I love the feel of putting on brand new clothes and wouldn’t get that if I washed them. And just to show how bad-ass I am, I buy a lot of clothes from Vinted, and don’t wash those before wearing either! 😱 (Every thing I have bought so far has been washed by the seller before sending.)

I wash anything that comes into contact with skin. Socks, underwear, clothes, towels, bras, PJs, sheets/bedding.

I wash everything before I wear it unless it’s a dry clean only type dress

Packaged no... open stock yes.
I'm not really grossed out...but even though open stock undies probably haven't been tried on, there is still a chance. lol

Same... I love the look of something that is not been altered.. just so new feeling. I don't know what Vinted is but I am assuming it is consignment/used. I might probably wash something like that.

I have two underwear designers, Fruit of the Loom and Hanes. I'm just fancy like that. Despite being in packages I wash before I wear them.

I wash towels and bedding because towels are more absorbent and for bedding gets softened a bit but I mostly buy 5-pack knickers and don't wash those.

Underwear, sheets, and towels are the only things I wash before use. Clothes, socks, blankets, jackets, bras - no.

I sometimes wonder how I'm still alive when I read some of these threads (like the "would you eat this" "do you wash this" etc)
I usually buy in a package, not single items on a hanger. So I don't. I also don't usually wash new clothes before wearing either.

my god yes. a friend of mine owns a clothing factory and there is dust and lint everywhere. bolts of fabric on the floor. garment pieces moved from station to station and many hands touching it. yes, definitely wash.

I wash absolutely all clothing I can before using it. The only clothing I don't wash is dry clean only items. My kids are older/adult now, and will sometimes buy a clothing item and wear it immediately, and I internally cringe a bit when they do.
And I only buy bathroom/bedroom/kitchen linens I can wash, so I wash all of those before using them.

My undies come hermetically sealed. I would say it would be a tossup with 50/50 wash first. I like to live on the edge, I guess.

When my kids were small, if I was giving them a clothing gift I thought they'd especially like, I washed it before wrapping because I knew they'd likely want to it on right away. And now DH has a holiday tradition he started himself of gathering up all new clothing/linens on Christmas Day at some point and putting them into the wash so people can start using them the very next day.

I try to wash things before wearing, because I have sensitive skin and get hives at the drop of a hat. Don’t want that on my lady bits.

I don't. When I went to boot camp and went thru the initial line for physical, shots, and uniform issue, I just followed orders. Everything looked brand new to me, so I got dressed as ordered. After I got married my wife did all the laundry. I don't know what went on, I just grabbed the next clothing in the closet. Now I have over 20 shirts, 10 pair of beige Dockers, and 18 sets of scivvies & socks. Shirts and Dockers go to the dry cleaners. Scivvies and socks go to the laundry where they are washed, dried, and folded for 2.5 cents per pound.
