I will do this. It is the plan. But I'm irritated that I'm going pay quite a bit of money and not even get a real meal. I'm really over restaurants not having a vegan option. Do any of the meals come with vegetable sides? If so see if you can add them to the salad. Broccoli, asparagus, green beans, sweet potatoes, etc. I looked at the allergen menu and I could probably get vegetables sans butter. Every vegetable side had dairy checked on the allergen guide. I assume it's butter.

As someone with life threatening allergies, I totally understand how frustrating eating out is and how time consuming it can be to research what is safe to eat. This why there are 5 places I can safely eat at - Domino's, Chipotle, Rubio's, Miguel Jr, and In n Out.

It'll really read as, why can't you just get in line and follow directions like the rest of us. LOL!

Wow, even here in meat country USA, there is always a veg option. I'm super surprised that a high end place doesn't offer that. They have vegetarian options but nothing plant-based/vegan. Oh gotcha. I hope you can find something to eat!

Your mom can think whatever she wants to think, but this is about you. Perhaps you could call ahead and see what they can do to modify a meal for you. You have a right to enjoy a high priced meal.

I just sent her a message telling her I don't want to go. I told her I have no desire to drink so I wouldn't have participated in the wine tasting and that I'm not paying $30 for lettuce. I was like for a restaurant with $30 salads and $50 bottles of wine, yeah, it's a crime they don't have a plant-based meal option.

naby64.. the one thing I would worry about with your toilet install is that the subfloor, or floor under the toilet has damage from the water leaking. this is a common problem that would have to be dealt with before you reinstall a toilet. so make sure the installation people tell you whether this is a problem or not before just putting in the new fixture.
we are trying to enforce the rule at our church that no members get on ladders.. (the average age is 75).. the 92 yr old is the most stubborn about this rule!!

I would worry about with your toilet install is that the subfloor Luckily, I hope, it's a concrete slab. Just like the bedroom connected to it. Then those itty bitty 1 inch tiles on top. 1964 baby!

jeremysgirl - it doesn’t really surprise me that there is no vegan option. I am finding here that lower-mid priced places are more likely to have vegan as an option than high end. Dh is out for dinner tonight and he was sent the menu in advance. There is a veg/vegan option for starters, but not for the main course. I also looked yesterday at the . . menus for my flights to and from Melbourne in 2 weeks. I’m flying Emirates Business, so not a cheapo flight. Of the 4 flights, only one has a vegan option for the main course. All have at least one veg/vegan starter (soup and/or Arabic mezze plate) and most have a vegan dessert. As well, there are very few vegan options in the snacks available in the on-board lounge area. I’ll be fine - while I am moving towards a more plant based diet, I still eat meat a couple of times a week - but I think it is poor form when two of these flights are over 13 hours, so not eating or bringing your own is not a real option.

Took my mom to get groceries this morning, dropped by the vet office to grab a heartworm prevention pill for Walker, dropped off book donations to charity store and now going to sit on the deck for a bit.
DS’s house is now listed. We are going ti the new house for the home inspection on Friday so I will get to see it in real life.
The heatwave has broken and today is a comfortable 24degrees C.
Supper will be grilled steak, grilled potatoes and some sort of vegetable.

Happy Wednesday! I went birthday shopping for DGD and one of the DGS's. DGD is done. Still trying to find anything for DGS. I have to go to the grocery store. DH said he would go with me tonight. I hate grocery shopping and he doesn't mind going. Still extremely hot here. I didn't get out early enough to take a walk. I will try to go out tonight. scrapmaven I hate it that you still are so fatigued. Rest up! sueg crossing my fingers and toes that baby stays in place until you get there. ntsf what great news! Dinner is undecided. Off to do some laundry.

My son is bringing a meal kit over and cooking it tonight. Some kind of chicken. I am unclear as to why he can’t cook it at home (I was planning to cook tonight, and yes, I already know I’m being ungracious) but whatever.
I’m tired and cranky, and now I think I’ll go lie down and yell at the TV. That should keep me busy for awhile.
