Good morning. How is everyone doing today?
What do you have planned for your day?
I'm same and today I'll see what yds is up to. He might go see a friend who had surgery yesterday. I'm still very tired and not doing much.
Dinner will be homemade pizza. Dh and ods will enjoy that. Dh loves using the pizza oven.
What's on your menu?
Wishing my tribe a happy, satisfying and pleasant day!

I was up all night last night so I see a nap in my future today. I'm drinking coffee right now so that I can muster the energy to go to the grocery store ... fun times! No plans today other than applying for summer jobs ... Dinner will be whatever I grab at the store!

I’m on the train on the way home from the city. I had my mammogram appointment at 2:30pm, so I went for lunch, did some shopping, got squished, did more shopping then found a gelato stand. I need to stop by the pharmacy between the train station and home to ick up meds I ordered on the way in.
DH is out for dinner tonight, so I will have the lady of the bean burgers from yesterday.
I spoke again with DS this morning. They have had one more unscheduled hospital visit this week, but baby is still inside. They are hoping for at least one more week - DS has a gastroscope next Wednesday and Tuesday (July 1) new parental leave rules come into play, so it will be better for them. I am still hoping for 2 weeks more, as by then I will be in Australia.

I mentioned my daughter in law having surgery for thyroid cancer a couple of weeks ago. she just got her stitches out and is cancer free!!! so. happy here. super thick fog.. and the city woke us up with construction on our street. I have a ton of errands today.. a magic. mom moment yesterday. my son is doing all the paperwork for his new job.. he asked me if I knew where his high school graduation certificate was.. I said give me an hour.. in about 5 minutes, in my file cabinet, I found an official transcript.. so a win for me!! with his adhd, in the past I have often held onto important papers for my son.
dinner is unknown at this point.. maybe take out maybe not.
hope everyone has a good day..

Happy Hump Day! scrapmaven Enjoy your time with your family! leannec Sorry about your sleepless night My mom is having a rough day today. She was off the meter low this morning but they were treating her for it and she has come back up. She called me to tell me she wasn't feeling good and could I come down. I've got meetings this morning so I told her I would come down when I could. I had my dad call her and talk with her in the meantime. As I updated yesterday, we had a good meeting with hospice and I think we are all on the same page. I felt better after the meeting that everyone is working toward keeping her safe and comfortable. I'm on dad duty tonight so he's taking me out to dinner. He's got several gift cards so we'll see if we want to use one of those. Hope you all have a great day!

sueg, I hope that your ddil can keep baby in place until you arrive. If not, you'll have 3 grandkids to love when you get there. May your ds have good results after his scope. I assume your mammo was just normal? Wishing you and your family nothing but joy. @leanec, I hope you find a fun job very soon. How many days per week do you want to work? Take a good nap today and rest. Tearisci, I hope you have a good dinner w/your dad. ntsf, Great news about your ddil. Congratulations to your ds on his new career.

Good morning! I can't remember if I mentioned last week that our custodian had a stroke and would be unable to work for the unforeseeable future. He has been here 37 years. He knows the building inner workings, how things were wired, what was done when, etc. If he finally chooses retirement, which we all hope he does, we are in a world of hurt. I have dared any church member to say something about this not being dusted, that needing to be done. There is one lady here that the MoM knows for a fact has planted things to see how long they would stay there. Her doors will be blasted in in the best southern bless your heart if she says anything to me. The MoM told everyone in choir to direct any remarks to me. He knows I am ready to come back at them. But we have been picking up restroom duties, garbage take out, minor clean up. Luckily, we have a nursery worker that also has a cleaning service and she is coming today at 1:30 to look around, do and be our temp clean up crew. Now, maintenance will be a whole 'nuther story.
Personal wise, things are ok. ODS got a new Sube Monday night. 2025 Outback. He says it is impressive and better, of course, than his 2018 Outback. I am trying to devote myself to picking a room a week and doing some deep cleaning to it. Clean out, clean up, etc. I still need to get in the closet and do some vac bag sealing of DH's winter sweaters and things. DD wants to go through them to pick a couple. However, now that I have given myself permission to take over that side of the closet, it has exploded with my sweat shirts, sweaters, fall/winter wear. Where did it all go before? I also want to get on changing up the layout of the bedroom. I need to get some sliders for the bed because that mother is going nowhere on the carpet with me pushing it. I have great high hopes that I can do this without calling in backup.
Today, though, I am buying a toilet from Lowes. The plumber from yesterday did not call me with a new toilet install price. So I am just picking one from Lowes and let them install it. And not worry about the brand. I really don't think I will be at this house for more than 10 years and I need it fixed/repaired/changed out NOW! Luckily, we had a Lowes CC and I'll use that.
Dinner...I am home tonight. We have a month long break from choir so I have my Wednesday nights back. I have so much food in the fridge but have no desire to cook/make anything. I made pancakes Sunday night due to being lazy. I do have half a bag of lentils from TJs and may make some lentil burgers. I saw a very good looking burger on TT and the guy has a YT and blog. I printed out the recipe last week and make see how I can do this with the pre-cooked lentils. I even picked up everything brioche buns at Aldi thinking of that burger. So at this time, most likely that and some sweet potato fries with garlic aioli. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but isn't garlic aioli redundant. It's just mayo, lemon juice and fresh grated garlic. I thought I read somewhere that that is the recipe for aioli and when people say garlic aioli, we are just repeating the garlic part. That is how my brain works ladies.

naby64, I'm so sorry to hear about your custodian. If anyone complains ask them to grab a mop, since the custodian has endured a stroke. Everyone should care about the church. You're not the custodian. You are an administrator. Meanwhile, have fun storming the toilets. Are you going to get one w/a seat warmer and bidet that serves you champagne while you're doing your business? Dh is so excited about replacing our toilets. Zzzzzzz. Bottoms up!

Everyone should care about the church. You're not the custodian Oh, I sent an email out to members last week asking them to be good stewards of the church and if you see something small that you can take care of, then please do so. Are you going to get one w/a seat warmer and bidet that serves you champagne while you're doing your business Oh man, let me go see if I can find that one. I did joke yesterday about seeing lighted seats somewhere and you could change colors. I laughed that I could have a disco in my bathroom at night. The lady that is my right hand man said to be careful, they would hate to get a call in the middle of the night that I had slipped and couldn't get up.

naby64 It amazes me what goes on in a church where people are supposed to be 'Christian-like.' Our pastor had to leave to take move and take care of his wife's father but they still had a picture of him in the office. Someone would take down the photo several times and move it to a different location like hiding it. How childlike and 'unchristian' is that? He definitely had people that didn't like him like some friends of my parents. They would always badmouth him to my parents and I finally told my parents that they should not engage in bashing him because that's the opposite of what the church stands for. We have an interim pastor now but I've only been a handful of times since our previous pastor left. It's just not the same to me.

I'm still very tired and not doing much. I'm so sorry, friend. I hope you get some good rest and can relax with your family. I was up all night last night so I see a nap in my future today. I'm sure you've been over this a million times but can anyone, doctors, pulmonologists, anyone offer you some sleep aid? I just really feel for you because sleep impacts my mood so, so much. the lady of the bean burgers I'm going to call myself this going forward....lol. she just got her stitches out and is cancer free!!! This is wonderful. She's too young for something like this. I thought I read somewhere that that is the recipe for aioli and when people say garlic aioli, we are just repeating the garlic part. That is how my brain works ladies. I really like chipotle aioli. Does it have garlic? I'm in my office today and I'm going to sit and do something really boring. So I'll be able to pea and read the paper. I'm still having a hard time getting out the door to the office now that we are back in person 2 days. I'll be late for my own funeral. Sigh. I was looking in my closet at Dark Thirty this morning for a smaller pair of black pants. I have lost 20 pounds. I found a pair in the back of my closet, put them on, they fit better, threw on a black blouse and shoes. I pulled into my parking spot and realized, the pants are navy blue! And the left leg hem is out. Sigh. Such is my life. Hahahaha... I am being forced against my will to have dinner with Mom, Sister, and MIL at a winery with a high end restaurant. I do not want to go. First, I'm not really interested in drinking and second, I looked at their menu and not a single animal free entree. In this day and age, how do you *not* have a plant-based option? So I don't know what I will eat. My mother is going to pout if I don't suck it up and eat the way she thinks I should. So, basically she's 71 and hasn't changed a bit. LOL! Anyway, that's what's going on here.

Good morning. Off to a slow start today. The dog wanted out at 6 am and instead of staying up I went back to bed and slept until 9:30 am. Apparently I am still catching up on my rest. I had a stay home and be lazy/sew day planned but now I have to fill out some forms regarding life insurance and take them downtown to DH's office. Normally I'd just email it to them but I have to include an original death certificate so a trip downtown it is. But that will allow me to stop by the credit union (same building) and ask some questions about the joint credit card. Thankfully things are slowly falling into place with the rest of the business/financial stuff so there will be less time spent on that. After I get back home I plan to spend the afternoon/evening sewing on that 'baby' quilt.
Yesterday ran a few errands and got to spend a bit of time at BFF's and get cuddles from her massive golden retriever. I adore him and the feeling is mutual. We are planning a beach trip for the middle of August - after the kids go back to school. Nice to have something to look forward to.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. Plenty of stuff in there for inspiration though!

It amazes me what goes on in a church where people are supposed to be 'Christian-like A former pastor, that I dearly loved, always said the church would be a great place if it wasn't for the members. Now, my views of the members here are quite skewed these days and it is so hard to go sit in a Sunday School class or in church during the sermon. I have gotten to where I will sing in the choir and when we are dismissed, I just leave. So I do tend to agree with him more and more these days.

First they know I'm underemployed in a low drama atmosphere. Second, my mom would pout about it even if it were a terrible day at work for reals.

I'm sure you've been over this a million times but can anyone, doctors, pulmonologists, anyone offer you some sleep aid? I just really feel for you because sleep impacts my mood so, so much. jeremysgirl a plant based meal is unheard of around here. Unless you like salad. Now, if I go 45 miles north, I can find more choices. You could do what I have been doing recently for some functions here. We have had some VBS meetings and then a cook-in for the finale. They had sliders on the menu, with pasta salad, veggie trays and chips. I just took a fabulous sandwich all wrapped up pretty and ate that. They know I am plant based and tried to make sure I would have something. I told the person in charge I would gladly just bring the main sandwich part. So, the petty person that I am, would have a nice bowl/takeaway container with something I could eat and be done with it. Can you see my tolerance level has reached a very empty tank?

Don't think I didn't consider it. My BIL says I should request that the chef prepare me something special. I might do that. They had an open house at work several weeks ago and I requested a vegan meal. I got lettuce with shredded carrots and wontons. Asian dressing. It was the saddest damn salad I have ever had. And my work probably paid $12 for it.

I think aioli is another word for mayonnaise That is what I always thought. But upon a google inquiry, it is not. But garlic is a main component of aioli so I have always wondered if I was repeating myself. Aioli: Ingredients: Traditionally, aioli is made with just garlic, olive oil, and salt. Some modern versions include egg yolks for stability and a smoother texture. Flavor: The dominant flavor is garlic, often described as pungent or intense. Texture: Can be thicker and grainier than mayonnaise, due to the olive oil and garlic paste. Uses: Often used as a dipping sauce for vegetables, with shellfish, or as a spread on sandwiches and burgers. Mayonnaise: Ingredients: Typically made with a neutral oil, egg yolks, and an acidic ingredient like lemon juice or vinegar. Flavor: Has a more neutral, creamy, and tangy taste, making it a versatile base for other sauces. Texture: Smooth and creamy. Uses: Used as a base for other sauces (like ranch or tartar sauce), a spread, or as a condiment for sandwiches and burgers. In summary, while both are creamy emulsions, aioli is characterized by its strong garlic flavor and often olive oil base, while mayonnaise is milder and uses a neutral oil. In modern usage, "aioli" is sometimes used to describe mayonnaise with added garlic, which can be confusing.

They do have dinner sized salads, with meat and cheese and creamy dressings It would seem today that I am full of suggestions for everyone but myself today. Air fryer up some really tasty tofu chunks. Season with what you would like. Take those in a baggie or container and sprinkle those over the salad. Use EVOO and vinegar. Or ask if they have a balsamic vinaigrette.

But I'm irritated that I'm going pay quite a bit of money and not even get a real meal. I'm really over restaurants not having a vegan option.

If so see if you can add them to the salad. Broccoli, asparagus, green beans, sweet potatoes, etc.

I might ask them to give me avocado toast without the eggs and the fruit plate.
