I was running errands yesterday and the Classic Vinyl channel played this - song - the 17 minute 4 second version. I drummed along on my steering wheel. I hadn't heard it forever! What are some songs that trigger memories from your youth?

This one, in honor of Bobby Sherman. lol. I was a young teen, and my best friend was named Susie. We would come to my house (fewer siblings and I had my own room) and listen to this song over and over on my record player (picking up the arm and putting it back down in the groove where Julie started). I was very jealous of Susie because you could put her name into the song in place of "Julie" and it fit perfectly... "Susie, Susie, Susie do you love me?" My name didn't fit at all. hahahaha
Julie Do You Love Me, Bobby Sherman

There is a whole other thread - misheard lyrics! It actually means "In the Garden of Eden" - Huh! I always thought they were singing the words "In the garden of Eden, baby." Or is there another version where they do actually sing that? There are a million songs and a million memories from my youth, especially my teenage years in the 80s. I couldn't even begin to pick one. My earliest memory of music is singing along to Glen Campbell. One of mum and dad's records had the words to Galveston written on the back of the record cover, so I would sing along to it. They took me to see him in concert in about 1974, when I was 6 or 7yo.

AussieMeg My first 45 record was Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy!" Foreigner 4 and Billy Squire "The Stroke" always bring up great memories of a summer visit at my cousins' house. My cool older cousin (who could drive!) blasted those as we went out on adventures to fascinating places like the grocery store.

my mom loved ABBA when i was growing up. when i hear an ABBA song today, it reminds me that my mom wasn't an older housewife/grandmother when she like those songs. she was a young woman who loved music groups like i did at that age.

Isn’t it funny how hearing a song from the past can bring you right back to that moment in time? My kid will never really experience that because all she listens to right now are songs by Japanese vocaloids, LOL. Pretty sure no one is ever going to hear that pop up on the oldies channel or be randomly played in the grocery store 30 years from now!

We have been married now 51 yrs.
