Normally, I do neutral or gold. This year I chose a light pink pair of Birks.

I like white or lighter colors for neutrals. But I do love some bright colors too. My problem would be with “a” pair for summer. I’m going to need multiple pairs!

If it’s your only pair of sandals, I’d go with a neutral like tan. If you want to add to the collection, I have a pair of Taos The Show in teal. They are really comfortable. If I had to chose one pair, I'd probably do white. Here in SC, I can wear sandals for 9 months out of the year (and probably at least a day or 2 if not more during the other 3 months) so I have Birkenstocks in a variety of colors to match whatever I'm wearing. I've got several pairs of white, and also brown, black, navy, and pink. Then I have several pairs of Chaco sandals for more sporty things like hiking or when we're in the mountain creeks. My toes almost feel like they're in prison when it gets cold enough for real shoes. lol

I marked beige but really more of a taupe color. I also like metallics. Brown surprisingly works with many things. I never wear brown in the summer but sandals that color are really versatile.

Black. It goes with most of my stuff- my shorts are usually black or grey.
I do have a blue pair, though, for when I get crazy and get my blue shorts out.
It never occurred to me to get a brown/tan leather shoe. I usually like flip flops and I guess I don't see a lot of those in leather colored. Seeing all of your answers makes me think that I need to go get a pair. Maybe I've been dressing all wrong. Off to the shoe store tomorrow...
The peas always cost me money.

This summer I bought a yellow pair. I also own red, white open toed wedges, black and another pair in blue that I wear with jeans. I don’t currently own a pair but I really like a casual gold sandal as well as tan,

Depends on the style for me. The only thing I can say with some certainty is that they would probably not be white.
