So, for as much great advice, support, recipes, etc. I've gotton on NSBR over the years, there's also been some pretty sick stuff...stuff I will never be able to unsee...or un-think about...
Of course, there's tub girl (do not google...do not google...)
But the biggest one for me was when someone got a bug in their ear (actually had to go to the doctor to get it out, I think). I still, to this day, am TERRIFIED of getting a bug in my ear. I have real, actual nightmares about it.
So, yeah, thanks for that.
Anything you've read or seen on NSBR that gives you the serious heebie jeebies?

Actually you don't need NSBR for a bug in the ear. That was on an episode of "Untold Stories of the ER" once. And if you think that was bad, there was another one where a gal had worms in her brain and they only discovered it because it popped up on her scalp when they happened to be looking and then dove back in again. (They thought she was a little crazy until they actually saw it.) Come to think of it, I think I'll go set that show to record. It's always interesting. Things I wish I could unsee? When I lived in Texas..... my daughter was laying on the couch. She woke up screaming that something was in her ear! I ran to the bathtub, filled it with about 6 inches of water and told her "get in!" She laid down, submerged her ears, and a little cockroach came floating out!!!!!

I still have to pull back the covers and check every night.

ETA: For others who like this kind of junk, your Prime membership gives you seasons 5 through 8. I so hope the worm/brain is in one of those. My mom was a nurse and when I was a child, she used to tell me some of the gross things she came across at the hospital. Age appropriate stuff, but I loved it! Then my sister became a nurse and married a doctor. His stories of autopsies were awesome! No personal details like names or anything, but some really interesting stories.

Did anyone else read about the women in Africa who were getting weaves? The hair was imported from dead people in India. Well it was never washed and it was woven into the new woman's head. Sometimes there were spiders living in the hair. One victim had a serious spider bite and DIED from it. Another woman had a spider lay eggs and they hatched. She lived but F@#$ why wasn't the hair washed and inspected. There is no way I would get extensions done now!!! Yuck!

The stories of scorpions in the bed, bugs in the ear, etc have made me paranoid about such things. Recently I had a horrible itching stinging bump on my scalp. And another. And then another. I ripped my bed apart, convinced that there was a nest of spiders biting me in my sleep. (But not DH. Not quite rational I understand.). Turned out I had shingles. Yeah. Not fun. But better than spiders.

I can deal with bugs and other gross stuff. It's the crazies who cross the line into researching personal lives that make me shudder. That is some scary sh!t.

Dare I ask how that happened? There were some pretty nice TMI threads on 2peas. And everytime someone posted about lice, my head started itching, and I didn't even have to open the thread, lol.

My absolutely favorite episode was the one with the do-it-yourself handyman. He had broken his foot and made himself a cast - out of cement! After the cement had dried, it was burning his skin. BUT ... even after they got the cement cast off and had him properly settled down, the doctor said he still had a fever. What could be the cause? "Well," he said, "the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior," so he checked him out further. Yes, he had a gash on his arm which the handyman had also sewn up himself - with metal wire! I'm telling you, that episode was priceless.

I honestly can't remember the story surrounding it, but I do remember him telling the ER nurse who asked him "WHY?" that he "was a horny man". It was CRAZY!!! I think (hope??) drugs were involved but I can't really remember. It was awful!

Wasn't that a hoot? I looked it up, it was Season 2: Episode 43. The name of it is "Under Siege."
I've never watched the other show, I think I'm too skeered of what bizarre things they might have on it.

It was my fault that T*bgirl ever came to the NSBR (due to a very noob mistake that I never made again!) and if I didn't start the bug in the ear thread I at least participated, because I DID have one. At first I thought it was water in my ear, making crackling sounds. It may have been the middle of the night that I realized it wasn't. I may have freaked out and posted (sounds like something I would've done) either before or after trying to rinse it out. I only saw a wing, but since the dr the next day didn't find anything else, we assumed that it had all been flushed out.
Now I live in an apartment with a centipede problem and it is my nightmare that one will get in my ear. It happened to my bil!
