I did once.
The experience is supposed to be relaxing and soothing. I didn't get anything out of the experience.

I also did this once. I was really looking forward to it, but hated the experience and couldn't wait to get out of there. The reason was that we were asked to take off our shoes and walk barefoot. I can't remember the surface. Sand, maybe? Anyway, it was hot and burned my feet. I can't see how everyone else tolerated it. It was a private home and I didn't want to be rude and complain so I just made the best of it but never again. I don't really enjoy walking super slow either.

We were supposed to walk slowly, pause in certain places and focus inwardly............. it was a big nothing for me. I expected to feel SOMETHING...but nope, nothing..... It was in a church grounds and there was talk briefly of "maybe we could make one." I wonder if the one I walked is still in existence.

Yes, often. This is a favorite activity of church retreats, pastors' retreats, chaplains' retreats...For me personally it does nothing. I would rather take a walk through the woods and meditate that way.

I've walked a corn maze before but not an actual labyrinth.
I'll have to check out the DFW ones you posted.

Yes, and I found it completely uninspiring, myself. I agree with the idea that a walk in the woods would have been a much nicer use of my time.

Yes, at a spa in Utah, they had a big labrynth. I tried to be all zen and focus, but it was not for me - didn’t get anything out of it.

Yes, a couple of little ones.
One was at a church retreat, and was a circular patio at one side of the grass lawn, just paving stones laid in the labyrinth pattern. It was suggested that we thought about whatever was worrying us on the way to the middle, leave the worry in the centre and walk out again. I found it a very peaceful, meditative experience.
My church created one out of tea-lights in jam jars for the town's Christmas Fair. It was lovely after dark and very popular.

No, but I wouldn't mind trying a corn maze!

In my area of the country, we have corn mazes in the fall. Some years the corn is thick and makes a really good maze. Other years, it’s sparse and I think well, nice try. LOL
We went on a good year once, at night, when my girls were in high school. My DH had the best time hiding in the maze startling the girls unexpectedly. It was SO fun!!
Edited to add, we also did some garden labyrinth thing at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.
It’s like short shrubbery so you could see where you were going. Not a challenge but still neat.

You're thinking of two different things. A corn maze -- or anything that's set up where you go in and have to find your way out -- is different from a meditative prayer labyrinth which is just flat on the ground and you're just supposed to follow the path to the center, then back out again.

They set up a temporary one at my college once in an indoor space. It was OK, but I'd love to try one in an ancient chapel someday.
