due to technical issues, what are you entitled to? We were supposed to fly out early today to South Dakota and had reservations in the Badlands. I was so excited to go to their night sky program there, and see all the stars and such without light pollution. But now we do not arrive in time to do that. And will probably have to cancel our reservations there. Stupid airlines!

If it is the airlines fault, you are due some kind of compensation. Usually a refund, food and accommodations while waiting, etc.

This is an example of what I would use ChatGP for. Find their terms and conditions and point ai in that direction (upload the document or cut and paste the website or actual text) while giving it details on your specific situation.

The federal Department of Transportation provides a tool called the Airline Customer Service Dashboard. You select your airline from a dropdown menu and it will lay out all the compensation you are entitled to.

This was a top priority for the dept of transportation under Pete Buttigieg

I pulled it up earlier to verify the name of it before I posted.

So we go to airport to find out our flight to Chicago is delayed, giving us 15 minutes to get to flight to Sioux Falls. Even if we make it, our luggage will not. So our best option is to drive to another city and catch a flight in the am. Checked into hotel at new city, and DH realizes we still have original flight back to original airport and our car is here, 1 1/2 hours away. Good times!

I hope you experience the best outcome.

Despite the fact that I am an eternal optimist, I always expect problems to crop up when I travel. The best trips, of course, are when I’m pleasantly surprised that it all went smoothly. Hope your travels get better. Maybe all the bad luck is behind you!

I'd call the airline and see what they can do for you to update the flight home. Did you get travel insurance or pay with a credit card that has it?

I bet you can change your flight home, especially if you do it right now.

I'm guessing it is a guided hike or something? If you made it here I hope you still made a trip out to the Badlands. You don't need a tour guide. You can hike, explore and even camp in the Badlands. I hope your trip to my area was amazing!

Luckily the temp up in the Hills is usually about 10 degrees cooler than here in Rapid City. Today is a nice heat relief so perfect weather for hiking in the Badlands! Have a great time and I'm glad your enjoying our little neck of the woods!
