Hi everyone! Happy happy birthday jeremysgirl! I hope you have a wonderful day! It will be in the mid-20's Celsius here today but will rain a bit in the afternoon ... then it is all downhill for the next week ... good thing I never go outside anyway! No plans today other than some laundry ... maybe go to the store to pick up a couple of things that I forgot yesterday. I will be going to my mum's residence for dinner ... they are serving roast beef with Yorkshire pudding! Yum! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I cannot sleep without at least one cover of some sort ... having an air conditioner in my bedroom set at arctic temperatures means that I can be all cozy and be safe from monsters! Are you able to sleep without covers or do you need something like me? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Happy Birthday, jeremysgirl . You're such a wise and thoughtful woman and it's an honor to be your dinner friend. leannec , I wish I could keep my fan on all night, since I run very hot. Unfortunately, dh runs very cold. We're coming out of a short heat wave. I need at least a sheet and that isn't enough to make me feel cozy. Your meme is spot on and cute. I'm thinking of Monsters Inc. We scare because we care. Today I'm going to try on some dresses that I ordered from Amazon. I was out shopping for 4 hours for evening wear, yesterday, despite being so tired. Plus, I hate to shop for myself. I found nothing. It's mother-of-the-bride or hooker! So, I got home, whined at my best girlfriend and she immediately hooked me up online. I ordered it all and I'll return the stuff that doesn't work. I only need a couple dresses. I also ordered ballet flats and an evening bag. Despite having a gazillion purses, I don't have a decent evening bag. The bulk of the day will be spent with my Lego. Dinner is up in the air. I have chicken, zucchini and peppers. Something magical will happen or not. Wishing everyone a restorative, happy day ahead.

I can sleep with the covers off. I need to frankly. But I need to be able to rub my hand on one of my crochet blankets. It's a stimming thing I've had since I was little. It *must* be a crocheted blanket.
My party is next Saturday. So I am just at home today quilting and blasting my music while Jeremy golfs. Honestly it's a great way to celebrate a birthday. There will be cake and presents next week.
And I want to tell you something since we talked about sisters yesterday. Me and my sister struggle sometimes. We are different people. But she has a very good heart. And she has helped Jeremy plan this party and she is working very hard to ensure that we have vegan food and cake. I seriously think that is the most thoughtful and respectful thing ever. I'm going to send her a special card after the party.
I'm making ramen tonight. Tofu, carrots, mushrooms, purple!!! Cauliflower and bok choy. Looking forward to it.

Happy Birthday to jeremysgirl , the only pea I've come close to meeting. I once saw her car in a parking lot đđđ For dinner we will have leftover Thai food- we only ordered one meal and it is going to feed both of us for 2 days. We had the crab wontons yesterday and will supplement with shrimp chips today.

got ambitious and put on my new boots and walked up the hill behind our place.. probably went 300 vertical up the road.. feet have a few red spots. worked up a sweat.
going to gym in afternoon. will be warm again today. I need a sheet to cover my legs when I sleep.. when warm
we are going out to dinner tonight. the biggest problem is the highway down 5 miles to the next town and the restaurant is under construction. during commute hours it takes over an hour to travel that distance.. we are hoping on sunday it won't be as bad.

So it's been a tough day. And all church duties related. I mentioned the issue we had 2 weeks ago. As one thing would get fixed, another new issue would be found. Lights in sanctuary got fixed but we have to do a bypass for now. Our MoM is on vacation, the properties chair is out of the country, pastor wasn't there. So I get a phone call. I could barely get out of bed this morning. I throw on a pair of pants with my ratty shirt. Y'all it was a battle. Not enough of the right people know how things work. Those that don't need to know are always in line with suggestions. As soon as I got the lights on, I just lost it. I felt so silly as it was in front of a couple of folks. Then another after I realized someone would have to turn the lights off. That guy, who I think the world of realized my distress. The kids check in system didn't work. The computer needed a PIN and I don't have it. The vacation guy. The girl there gave me a hug. I finally got home and as I parked Bubbles Up came in. Third breakdown. I'm just tired of being the answer person. And I can't even use the pool right now because it's cloudy.
I need to shake this cloud off and get in my home office and clean it out. Or at least pack up some things. Put some head banging music on. That would help.
Dinner might be some sort of pasta. I have some sauce I don't want to waste.

Happy Birthday jeremysgirl ~ sounds like the perfect day. I'm glad your sister is helping Jeremy with the party planning. I sleep hotter than DH so I've got the QuietCool whole house fan AND the ceiling fan going every night. We have a light comforter that he will pull up when he gets too cold. We're picking up our friends in an hour to drive to the Bay Area for the Greece Meet and Greet. We invited them to go on the trip when another couple had to drop out because she found out she was pregnant. She's the daughter of one of the other couples on the trip. Everyone brings an appetizer so we'll graze during the get-together and have stuff in the refrigerator if we're hungry when we get home ~ probably after 7.

maybe naby64--is there a building manual? if not, is that something that could be brought up with the staff.. and have the volunteers do the rough draft? (you don't need more work).. we are all just a car accident away from losing insider knowledge.
it should not be your problem.. and I know you know that. sorry you had a rough morning.

Happy Birthday jeremysgirl! I am so happy to "know" you here. Enjoy your peaceful day. cadoodlebug I must have missed that you are going to Greece. DH and I want to go in the near future. He worked over there in the 90's and he says out of all the places he traveled to that is the one place he wants to take me to. SIL and BIL went in June and I heard they had a fabulous time. I want to get more details from them because they stayed at a smaller island than Santorini or Mykonos. I am busy packing. I am off tomorrow to Cabo. It is an early flight so my friend and I are driving down to the airport tonight. We will meet up with others from the group that are going and have dinner. This is an incentive trip we won thru our business. It is not a big group and I know quite a few people that are going. I am excited to spend a couple of low key days with business acquaintances that have become lifelong friends. I have to be covered with at least a sheet to sleep. Even if I get hot I just stick a leg out. I hope everyone has a great week!

Good morning, almost afternoon. We slept in and are sitting here with morning coffee. I have been trying to beat back the clutter, mostly unsuccessfully, made worse by stuff I've brought home from my mother's place. It's not a lot, and some will go to my new office, but so much stuff has no place to put it away. It gives me (more) anxiety. We will go over and visit with her kitty for a bit and probably drag more home. Thank you for the kind words and counsel. You all seem to get it more than most. While it's lovely to see nice messages on FB, I haven't broadcast that our relationship has swung from awful to nonexistent, so it's hard to hear how someone remembers her fondly. I mean, I'm truly so happy others experienced her that way. It inadvertently stings though. We went to a BBQ and blues festival yesterday. The weather was surprisingly nice and I just sat in ny chair, read, and ate delicious food while Nick was overjoyed about the music. There were fireworks and one of his favorite performers. We were out late 2 nights in a row. Who ARE we?? Im sorry, naby64 that your workplace seems helpless without you and literally help-less TO you. They need better systems in place. It's not fair to you. If you were not available they'd have to figure out something...maybe that pastor or MofM needs to be wearing the pager...bet they'd be more motivated to make changes the first time they had to come back from vacation? Sending good thoughts. Happy birthday, @jermeysgirl! That sounds like quite a hike, ntsf! What event are you dressing for, scrapmaven? Amazon has come thru in a pinch for me too sometimes. leannec, I like to sleep in the article with a down comforter, duvet, and sometimes a sheet. And a husband, and 2 heat generating puppies. If the ac hasn't cooled things off sometimes just a sheet but I need my blankets ideally. The fan is on every night. Our room is upstairs and the heat rises in summer and winter. Its tough to keep it comfortable...we've been known to have the window open much of the winter. Heat goes out the window into the snow but otherwise it's unbearable. We have a boiler and radiant heat that is not zoned well. We plan to install minisplits (we have no ductwork) for ac and some heat in the future. That's an investment. I met my mother's friend at her assisted living place. She was instrumental in helping her move to this place. It was nice to learn my mother could advocate for someone else and the lady is the sweetest. I gave her a bag of books and a box of chatzkes. Its nice she appreciated some pretty things of my mother's to remember her friend by. We talked for about 40minutes. She asked if I would visit. I asked permission from the staff and they said that would be wonderful. I've picked up some word search magazines and books and pencils. I told Nick I knew I was creating a care package for a woman I don't know because I couldn't do the same for my mother. Im okay with it. Her friend had no children and she's been in assisted living for 18years, so she doesn't have many visitors. I think I may have a lead for a home for my mother's cat. If it doesn't fall apart I will deliver him/her to add college friend's wife in South Bend Tuesday. Please cross your fingers. Its the nicest big kitty cat and deserves a loving home. Wishing everyone a happy Sunday. Tracy

Happy birthday jeremysgirl! DS is leaving today and I'm sad about it. We've had a great visit and he has done wonders for my mom's mental health. She's been so good these last few days and I know it's because he's been here. She's been eating and drinking protein shakes which has also helped her turnaround. The social worker at the facility is leaving and I'm kind of sad about it because she was so caring of mom. Hopefully, the next person will also be good. I'm on dad duty for the next few days while my sister is out of town. My BIL is kind of a stick in the mud and dad doesn't really like to be there with him. He's just not warm or friendly, very unlike my sister. I guess opposites attract! I think we are going to get pizza tonight. We just had In N Out for lunch because DS always has to go when he visits. Hope you all have a great day!

DH and I went for fries under the bridge and we met his sister there. We had a wonderful chat and catch up. And the fries with pulled pork were delicious. The food truck doesnât have sour cream so I take my own. DSâs house sold! They are away at a cottage but through technology, they were able to sign all the papers this morning. The closing day is August 21. naby64: Before I retired, I was the General Manager of our local YMCA. I was responsible for the entire building and staff. Throughout the pandemic, I was the only one who continued to work and I had to check the building daily. The pool was the bane of my existence - regular chemical checks, adding chemicals, fixing water temperature, clearing plugged chlorine lines, etc. And no one was even swimming in it because the building was closed. I hated being âon callâ 24/7 to fix everything. I loved the people aspect of my job but not the technical aspects. Iâm not sure how they dealt with stuff when I retired but now itâs someone elseâs problem! I totally understand your frustrations. I sleep with a weighted blanket in the winter and just one cotton blanket in the summer. I have to be covered regardless of the temperature so the air is on, the ceiling fan is on and Iâm covered. Supper is chicken fajitas.

it should not be your problem.. and I know you know that. sorry you had a rough morning Agreed but as we are such a small staff, when no one else is around, they all call me. Believe me, we will now have property management booklet written up. And perfect timing as our custodian/maintenance man of 41 yrs retired this past week to deal with his stroke recovery. That man had all the answers to all the questions in his head. maybe that pastor or MofM needs to be wearing the pager. The pastor, at the moment, is our biggest issue. He has "it doesn't affect me directly so I don't need to remember it" syndrome. Along with 4 kids and a needy young wife. The Minister of Music does everything and knows it all. AND never takes vacation. He loses days every year. His wife is the pianist, his son does the power point, his wife is a Sunday School teacher. It takes 5 people to do these 3 peoples jobs on a Sunday morning. I'm not ever going to think about giving him a pager if he is finally taking time away. He held the church together when we didn't have a pastor. No, people just need to step up and learn something about their church and realize that I am not the answer woman. And have my own things to deal with right now. I loved the people aspect of my job but not the technical aspects And herein lies my problem. I really do like my job. Love learning things with technology that I don't know. How things work. I just don't like the people. Which is truly a sad thing as I work for a church. And a southern baptist demonination at that. Which makes me really dislike a lot more of them at the moment. I will say I did go out to my pool. And of course, the bottom ring had lost air overnight. At the moment, I am going to blame user issues when she was filling it with air and having trouble with the plug. Smart chick though. She didn't do a complete fill. So it was more of a sensory deprivation pool. Which worked perfectly today. And the cloudiness was temporary. Lots of clouds moving overhead but never really got and stayed cloudy. So I took my little speaker and lay out there through 2 playings of Taylor Swift's Folklore. As I lay on my back, I watched the clouds moving about and caught a few birds just sailing through the sky. I also saw 2 jet trails and wondered where the people were going. When I flipped over on my stomach to give equal time to my back, I think I actually drifted off for a few minutes. It really was restorative. I am now making a bac-un, tomato, avocado sandwich and maybe some spinach if it is still good. Pop open a diet coke and decide what get moved around on the desk in a bit. I still can't quite commit to taking everything away just yet. #1 I just don't know what needs to be done with it. Packed in a box to add the to pile in the garage? #2 I don't want to do too much as I am moving that desk top out and my old teenage desk in. Plus I am getting new curtains on Tuesday and I may need to hang a new rod for those. I don't want to get it all pretty and have to move it again. To answer the question, I always have to have a cover. I just feel exposed if I don't. In the summer, it can just be the top sheet but cover is a must.

jeremysgirl My niece and her family are here and have been here since last Thursday. Her two boys are just so much fun. The seven-year-old who is on the spectrum is growing by leaps and bounds. Every time I see him or talk to him his language and sentence structure just gets even better. So weâve been in the pool and trying to stay cool in this heat. Their other grandparents, who they donât really know, are at my brotherâs house for the afternoon. They have some fun things planned this week too like going to the drive-in for the first time ever So dinner is going to be a chicken breast and probably some fresh corn on the cob and maybe some summer squash. Weâll see how hot I really want the kitchen to get.

Ok I talked to a telehealth doctor today and he prescribed 2 types of antibiotics. I will wash my shoes more often and wear socks. I learned my lesson.
Dad and GF are going to the garden party this afternoon and I plan to make tuna melts for myself and dad wants a roast turkey sandwich. All is good on my front.
Hugs to all those who need them and much love.â€ïžđ

Good Monday morning from a cold but sunny Melbourne. Life has been a bit crazy here since I arrived. Saturday I took both girls out for most of the day to let DS and DDiL get some final preparations for baby done and for DDiL to rest a bit. She was a bit overwhelmed as it was also the first anniversary of her mum passing. Yesterday they planned a family memorial - Mass, cemetery visit and lunch - so I went to a Makers Market with both my sisters. We had a great day out, bought quite a few things, then just as we were having coffee before heading home, DS called with a simple message âmum, youâre onâ. The had gone to the hospital around lunchtime and the doctor wasnât letting her go home. The girls were with their auntie, but DS wanted me to meet him at the hospital and collect them. My sister had made roast for dinner, so we ate there, then came home. Lucia fell asleep in the car and didnât stir until 6:30 this morning. Sophia was quite restless, so after a couple of failed attempts to get her to sleep, I let her sleep with me - it was better for both of us. Induction was to start at 6am this morning, so weâre waiting on news.
