Is anyone a Simple Scrapper Member? I joined this month to see if I could get inspired....and it all feels overwhelming over there. Is anyone else over there?

I used to subscribe, mostly because I wanted to take her trello class. I loved all the magazines, but I don't like the whole Mighty Nest thing. My brain just can never quite enjoy it. I like her podcast, but I just don't really like the format of the boards.

Which seems rather ironic given the name of the whole thing. I'm not one for zoom meetings and classes, and I find I don't have much patience for navigating things that feel more complicated than they need to be, so perhaps it's best that this is the first I ever heard of this.

It was hard for me too. I wanted to love it, because of the classes, but I gave up lol.
I also tried/quit Awesome Ladies Project for a similar reason. I just can't get the hang of it.

As others had mentioned the site was just too complicated for me personally. I really like Jennifer and all the content she provides but every time I checked in on the app I just did not enjoy the platform and felt overwhelmed. It didn’t help that my scrap time was so limited. I just didn’t want to spend the time navigating everything over and over. I like a simple message board platform. *eta* I think she would have something that would appeal to more scrappers, if she had a free version that had simpler boards and then a paid option like podcasts have Patreon. I usually get sucked into the Patreon membership for podcasts I really enjoy that provide the extra paid content.

I tried a month or two several years ago. I don't think I quite understood the boards, or the challenges. At the time, it didn't seem like there was that much content or forum chatting going on. I don't do Zoom crops, so no interest there. They DO have a huge library of sketches, sorted from 1 pic sketch to multi page sketches. I also tried the Awesome Ladies Project too. I only have so much time for online stuff, it seemed a bit too hard to search.

Well, Im glad to see it's not just me. Like many of you, I really enjoy Jennifer and her podcast + her content, so I will try and stick it out. But I really thought it was just me overthinking things!

I'm a member, and I love Jennifer, but I feel the way some of you do. I thought it was just me! I'm fairly tech-savvy, but I'm never quite sure how to navigate the Mighty Networks site. I'll find something I'm interested in, then I can't figure out how to get back to it, especially if I move from one device to another.
There are some interesting tutorials, and I love the magazine. I've been ordering the print copies from Blurb lately, and it's nice to have something in hand to page through.
I also have a tough time with the specialized language of the "journeys." I have tried Zoom crops, but I think I already have a good routine for scrapping on my own. I may take a break, see if I miss it, and come back if it makes sense.

I tried it a couple years ago and felt the same as all of you. Very welcoming but just not a place I wanted to hang out. the forum/board was.. ok. it's a good fit for folks looking for virtual acountability buddies (I found those posts a bit boring). the magazines and classes were cool and well done. the zoom crops were friendly and frequent. the staff very nice. I'm not as productive when "cropping" though so only attended two zooms. overall I just felt it was too pricey for what I was getting out of it. it's more valuable to someone who participates daily, attends their regular crops, uses sketches, etc etc.
as a SS podcast listener, you get regular updates on the new stuff/launches going on at SS community. I'm happy for her success so I've thought about giving it another try.. but honestly, they keep raising the price (for new members only) as they expand staff and offerings. it's currently $25 usd/month for new members, which isn't worth it for me/my use. but on a very related note.. it doesn't seem fair to me that new members shoulder the bulk of rising business costs while others pay $5 or $10. it's not like long-time members don't equally benefit from new classes, new staff members, rebranding, etc. I totally get that she wants to reward member loyalty but that variance seems excessive to me. versus say.. offering them a $5 loyalty discount off current price, as an example. the cost definitely puts me off of trying again. I wonder if it was more fairly distributed across the whole membership, if the monthly price for everyone could be more like $15 - still high but more reasonable. I wonder if the $5 folks would still be members, giving glowing testimonals, if they had to pay the current $25 monthly price.
Love Jennifer and her podcast and wish her success. I think she could rethink the pricing if she wanted more members (tiers, or rebalancing/redistributing) but maybe she likes keeping it at the current size and is likely nervous to rock the boat.

I really like her podcasts and have not checked out the site. This feedback seems like it could be beneficial for her though.

But I really thought it was just me overthinking things! It is not just you and this post also made me feel a bit better. I was a member a few years but never really felt like I took advantage of it enough for cost despite really wanting to support Jennifer. I think she has created a nice community of women. They were all super friendly to me when I was able to participate. I agree with the Pea who said it’s a great site for those who want accountability.

I also do not care for the pricing model at all. I was a member ages ago when it was $12/month. I stopped because my life changed and so I just didn’t have time for it. I wanted to join again last year and this year for accountability but the price is too high now imo. I agree that the price could possibly be more reasonable if spread out amongst all members and would maybe even attract more people.
