I'm a huge Halloween fan. Christmas is nice because I get to spend time with my family, but I don't get excited about it like I do for Halloween.
And the stores are starting to get Halloween stuff. Yep, I know, crazy early. I usually hate how stores stock holiday products way way before the date, but I make an exception for Halloween.
So I've been looking at Marshall's, Home Goods, Michael's, etc. I'm so sad Joann closed- they had great Halloween stuff. And the trend this year? Pink Halloween. I'm not sure how to work that into my dƩcor, but I kind of like it.
So is anybody else a Halloween fan?

Love Halloween! Waiting for my CVS to get the new Snoopy plush in. He is in a costume that is a skeleton.

My whole family loves Halloween and Christmas. The decorations being out early has never bothered me. I have already picked up the haunted house blowmold from Cracker Barrel as it is a hot commodity and I really liked it. I have seen people posting all the ghost sitting in flamingo floats and all the pink and summer ghosts, I will probably not be buying any of those, they are cute but not my style.

I love fall in general. Aside from handing out candy, I don't care one way or another about Halloween. My (older) kids do all of the Halloween decorating and they go nuts, but I know that some day when it falls to me to decorate again, I'll just do pumpkins and colorful leaves from Sept. through Nov. with a few turkeys coming out Nov. 1st. Currently I allow the kids to do whatever they want in October, and I get to keep Sept. & Nov. as just fall.

No, not a fan at all.
Obviously I jest. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and I actually love that people are celebrating Summerween. I allow myself one trip to Home Goods during the season, because otherwise it would not be good for the old bank account. I am desperate to find the bat shaped door mat that says "unwelcome" this year.

Halloween is my favorite holiday because it's just fun and there aren't any expectations. Summerween is the new trend of celebrating Halloween in July and I think I could get behind it.
One of my Christmas trees is a small Nightmare Before Christmas tree that I might put up for Halloween and leave it up until after Christmas. I didn't get a chance to decorate it last year so if I do it early, it has a better chance.
I love fall in general and am sad that living in DFW means that we don't get really any fall weather until November. By that time, I'm totally over the heat!

Last year I was downloading Halloween images from Etsy and there were some pink and peachy-orange ones there. I got some of those too; they were cutesy, little girly type images. Once I'd got over the initial What?! I quite liked them. I planned a mini album specifically in those colours but I was also thinking of mix and matching them in another one with especially ghoulish images. Maybe this year.

My daughter is turning 9 and has her theme picked this year, but next year she wants a girly Halloween themed birthday party. Her birthday is mid-October

I love Halloween decorations, but I find that as I get older the less and less I put out.. So while I drool at all the cute stuff, I don't buy anymore. Whatever I have is in a box that is hard to get to, and I haven't broken it out in years. I think the only holiday I decorate for anymore is Christmas. I

Esther's birthday was October 30th. So we did Halloween very big all her life. I love Halloween. I did not decorate the Halloween after she died. But I have since returned and this year I said I would not buy anything but....I planted a ton of the little 3" pumpkins in my garden. They are springing up all over the place.

Oh yes, the Falloween stuff comes out at the end of August in my house and stays up until mid-November (at which time it just becomes "fall" where all the pumpkins and stuff stay out but the skeletons etc get put away).
Outside decor I have to show a bit more restraint due to the HOA, so it's up from Oct 1 until very early November.

I love Halloween. I have so many totes of decor, but I just don't get it out anymore. Harvest starts in early September and goes sometimes to December. I am more full time out in the harvest field that I was when my kids were little. So I just don't ever seem to have time to get it out and enjoy it like I used to.

DDs and I are loving the pink Halloween trend. Michael's had it last year, too, but I think it was more pastel? We don't decorate much for Halloween simply because we have 2 birthdays right around that time and our basement is full of Christmas. I'd love to decorate, but when it comes down to it, I'll choose Christmas every time.
I did just receive a porch goose for my bday, so that could be where I may change it up a bit!

Granddaughter was born on Halloween. I said to my son that I was sad that she was born on Halloween. He asked why and I replied that because her birthday was Halloween then ALL her birthdays would have a Halloween theme. I sometimes thought she (and all those kids born in December who have Christmas nudging their big day) should have an "nonbirthday" celebration in the summer--just to have a party with a different theme.
Since she lives so far away, there is nothing I can do about it.

I never had a themed birthday party but being born NYD, I never felt it had to be wintery or that I wished I had a summer birthday.

I love the bunnies and Christmas stuff a lot too. I never knew what to do in August and September anyways, so Halloween just always started early.

She always got to have a gaggle of kids and candy and cake. Usually pizza for dinner. And we went overboard on the costumes and decor. We just made it a very big deal and made her feel like we were celebrating her birthday the entire season.

Blow mold! Thank you! I was looking for blow molds last year but I didn't know what they were called. I love the vintage feel a lot of them have- it reminds me of being little.
I don't have a yard but I have an empty flower bed in front of my patio in front of my house. Last year I made a really nice cemetery with a life size skeleton reaching over the fence. I know I'll still do a cemetery but I need to change it up a bit.

LOVE Halloween. DH likes going all out on the outside decorations. Some years time gets away from us and we donāt get much put up. It just depends on how the weekends hash out with taking out docks, etc. at the lake. Iāve pretty much stopped buying new things because we are pretty maxed out as far as storage space for holiday stuff between Halloween and Christmas which is all in the same closet.

My bestie is a designer and some of her stuff has been picked up by Michael's! One of her pieces is the ghost and witch in a pink car that says "Get in Loser We're Going Haunting!" :-D

I used to LOVE Halloween, had a huge Halloween Party in our big shop every year that everyone looked forward too. Went all out with a different theme each year and amazing props. We live in a small town, and after year 3 of my party the local (one and only) bar started closing on Halloween because no one went there for Halloween anymore (the owners were even at mine). Used to hire a popular local live band too. I quit doing it about 5 years ago, when each year more & more people would show up that we didn't even know. The last straw the final year was after the party was over, the band was packed up and gone, & there were still about 25 stragglers there that I had NO CLUE who any of them were. One of my friends husbands had to yell "Listen Up! The partys over; you people need to leave NOW!". Haven't had one since. THEN a couple of years later I went to a new insurance advisor (in a town 30 miles away) and when I introduced myself, she said "I know who you are, I've been to a couple of your Halloween Parties! Whats the theme this year?".
