Jan Inspiration: New Year
Color: metallic
Adjective 1: bright
Adjective 2: fresh
Verb: Resolve
Noun: Time
I am posting the entire challenge for the month instead of doing it a bit at a time each week. Sometimes I feel I had the perfect opportunity last week and can't come up with something this week. This way you have the whole month to find the shot you like.
Have fun! Post your links or images in reply so we can see your ideas.

Interesting! It will be fun to give this some thought and see if I can get a creative spark going.

I'm not sure if I'm handling the "prompts" correctly...and since no one else has posted yet, I'll take a shot. (if it's wrong, I'll do better next time) Here is a watch DD got for DH for Christmas. On the front are his initials, on the back is the text "Daddy I will love you until the end of time". Very sweet.

There is no right/wrong. You can do as you did and get several prompts in one shot or just concentrate on one prompt. Totally up to you. You have kicked up off with a fabulous start.

Glad I don't have to delete and start again. I've never participated in anything like this so I wasn't sure if all were "required". (and I LOL at my use of "required"...like I'm going to get banned from future participation LOL)

So, to make sure I have this right, we don't have to do all of the prompts? Just 1 or several if we want?

So, to make sure I have this right, we don't have to do all of the prompts? Just 1 or several if we want? No, you do not have to use all the prompts. You can do however many you choose to do. You can do one photo with one prompt. Or five photos with five different prompts. Or one photo with all five of them. You can set your own goals for how many prompts to use. Or, use none of them! You can use the prompts to trigger your own word associations and spin off into something that has meaning to you even though it isn't necessarily on the list.. in other words, create your own prompt. I won't be offended if "New Year" means something totally different to you so your inspiration words are something I didn't list. This is just a springboard to get your camera out. If someone asks why you are taking a photo of something THEY consider silly or inconsequential you can blame it on participating in a photo challenge I'm willing to be your fall-guy.

Adjective 2: fresh
When I hear the word "fresh" I think of fresh air and for me that means Yosemite. I live in a valley that is pretty polluted so to get fresh air I just drive a few hours to Yosemite and I get to breath free for a day.

GAJenny, great shot of the watch, and I love how you incorporated multiple prompts. I also love that it is in black and white. Needmysanity, that is so beautiful. It could be a postcard! How lucky to be able to have such a view nearby. Laureljean, that photo just melts my heart. Especially as we are going to be first time grandparents this spring when oldest ds and his wife have their baby. This is my take on 'time'. Youngest ds will be 18 in a couple of months. I cannot help wondering where time has gone. It seems as though one moment he was a happy, carefree toddler, and then I turned around and now he is a much more serious young man, becoming an adult, about to embark on a new stage of his life. I snapped this quickly before he was aware that I was taking his picture.

I'll play! I took out my camera and macro lens for the first time in FOREVER last weekend, and just took a walk around the block to see what I might find. Here's my take on "bright!"

Snappinsami, that is beautiful. I did a double take though when you wrote that you took the photo on a walk around the neighbourhood. We have snow here, lol. I had to look to see where you live. This is my take on 'bright'. Ds was my subject once again, I like the colours in his plaid shirt.

It takes time to pickle beets. And who is fresher than the Amish? Also, the lid is metallic.

I will give it a whirl: Jan Inspiration: New Year - tour was on January 3, 2015 Color: metallic - helicopter is metal Adjective 1: bright - brightly painted helicopter (Magnum Helicopter) Adjective 2: fresh - Doors Off tour, cold wind in your face, up in the air Verb: Resolve - I have never flown in a helicopter, my DH had. And who was holding on: DH. Me, I was just snapping photos. I was very hesitant about taking this tour, because I really do not care to fly. Noun: Time - 50 minute tour Editing to add: I did not take this photo, would not have been able to take a close-up selfie and get the entire helicopter in the frame. I did however, take many photos while we were on this tour.

GAJenny - that is a fabulous photo of the pocket watch.
needmysanity - gorgeous photo of Yosemite and I agree with your 'fresh'. A place I have only seen in photos.
laureljean - Mmm, smell the baby powder. Perfect time for cuddling.
heartcat - <3 that you were able to sneak a photo of your DS without him knowing. And the plaid shirt, I am working on my DS book (he is 21), and there were so many school year photos, where he is wearing a different blue plaid shirt! Makes me laugh now.
snappinsami - reminds me of spring, what kind of flower is that?
sharlag - your beet photo, the jar is very colorful too. Ü

I am constantly reminded of how much I love where we live by the flowers that bloom here year round. And I'm glad to live here becuase I really HATE winter! LOL!

Sharla, that's a creative take on the prompts, and very 'you'. Sbartistm 'give it a whirl'....hehehe. Great image to incorporate so many of the challenge words. I have never been in a helicopter, I imagine it would be quite exhilerating. Brady has lots of plaid shirts, long sleeved for cooler weather and short-sleeved for warmer weather. It's been his 'thing' for a few years now. Scrappinsami, I am not a huge lover of winter myself, I do not ski or skate or snowmobile, but I cannot imagine living where there are not the four seasons. Winter has a special kind of beauty (though I wished the duration were shorter!). And it is fun to wear warm, cozy clothes and sit by a wood burning fire. My best friend used to live here but moved to California and loves it, and she doesn't miss the winters at all, lol! Needmysanity, happy birthday to your ds. I like the composition of the shot, how you don't see his entire face, and the depth of field that you used. Love seeing everyone's photos, thanks!

One for 'resolve'. Last spring I won a lottery bingo game at work and bought a second hand Canon Speedlite 550EX. I still have not used it. I resolve this year to do some reading, and to actually put it on my camera and try to learn flash photography.
