I don't think I've updated since their sweet baby girl was born. She's now 1 and the light of my life for sure!! Alot has happened in this past year. I bought my childhood home from my mom and we all moved in there in January. Then a month later, the house right next to mine became available. I have known this neighbor for a long time and went and talked to him. He suggested doing a rent to own with DS and DFD! They moved in a few weeks later and life has been great. I'm so proud of both of them! They are making it on their own and have become really great parents. What spurred my update is that they just got married! It was a smallish wedding at a cute venue. My DGD rode in a little wagon as the flower girl with a sign on the back that said "Daddy, it's time we give mommy our last name". They held her while they did the unity candle and she was so cute. I got put into 3 roles during the wedding, which was a lot, but I was so blessed to be able to do it. She asked me to walk her down the aisle, to give her away and to be a bridesmaid. Bringing her into my home and becoming her foster mom started out a bit rocky (and I was so reluctant to do it at first), but almost 2 years later and I'm so thankful I did.     |

I remember this story quite well. It was a fairly long thread and we were all a bit concerned. I am so happy for you and your family that it all turned out so well. How wonderful that they are both independent and close to you! Enjoy your little grand daughter.
