I just saw in a fb group that TH has announced the distress oxides are finally available in the mini cube format. There are 24 colours in the first release, and the remaining colours in the range will be released through the rest of this year. He shares details in his live from earlier today here. The mini oxides are the first release he discusses, and he starts talking about them from ~4.5mins in. The colours will be released in colour family packs of 4 initially, individual pads are expected to be released next year. There is a mad part of me that would like to downsize some of my lesser used colours into the mini pads when they're available just from a space saving perspective, so I'm glad I have some time for the rational part of my brain to talk myself out of it (or into it ).

Wow, they cracked it! It didn’t sound like they ever would. I realize that I’m probably over them at this point. I haven’t used mine in ages.

I’m excited for these and will buy those I use most. The size will be very convenient for crops and travel scrapping. I just wish they had released the individual colors now instead of later on.

Grrrr. I just invested in a large number of full-size pads. I would have gotten these instead had they been available. I find myself reaching for them all the time, so I guess I don't have regrets, exactly, but...grrr. Bad timing for me. My collection takes up a good chunk of real estate at my cardmaking station in my studio.

Not buying them on principle at this point. Something about the whole thing irritates me.

I think for blending people will find they go through the ink pretty fast, although maybe not so much for stamping with them. (Or at least that's my experience with other mini cubes)

I have almost every color in the full size, so I don't have a need for the minis however, I could see them being handy for those who go to crops or are just wanting to try some out.

Not buying them on principle at this point. Something about the whole thing irritates me. Right? I'm so mad about this as well. He specifically said he would not make the small cubes for the oxides and now they're doing it. I would have NOT purchased the big ones because I like the small cubes so much more.

Oh I totally get this. I've got quite a lot of colours that I would much prefer to have in the smaller pads if they'd been available. It's part of why I'm so torn, I'd love to downsize to the pad size that makes most sense for how I use them and my storage space, but I'm also kind of annoyed that it's a further expense to get what I'd always wanted. He did sort of address this in the little bit of his live that I watched (I mostly hung around to see the colours in the first release and then bailed) and he said the formula couldn't be reproduced effectively in the small pads for quite a long time but Ranger have obviously been working on it and are now able to make it work.

I feel like I saw them already for sale at ACOT.
I don't really like how the distress inks stamp so I'm going to pass.

I knew they would find the way to make them when the time was ready.

I already have bought the full size, definitely not starting a new collection of mini's!

It did take 9 years to develop the formula that would work in the minis.
