Hi everyone! Today Molly is coming over so that we can take her to the alterationist to have two pairs of pants hemmed and taken in ... it was supposed to happen last Saturday but she forgot them at home! Then we will go for lunch ... might hit the mall because she wants to go to B&BW ... we are in and out because we both hate the mall! No other plans for the day or evening ... Dinner will maybe be rechauffe from lunch depending on where we go ... This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I definitely consider myself to be a bit "crazy" ... makes me interesting! How is your migraine scrapmaven? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

I'm taking a lazy day. may go to the town down the valley and do some grocery shopping and pick up dh's meds.
there are lots of people at the condo complex so I won't go to the pool.
salmon out of the freezer for dinner, with a salad
maybe get dh to help put back the winter bedding.. now that I have washed/cleaned it all.

DH and I just got back from our walk. I wore long pants and a light jacket. Crazy weather ~ now the sun is shining and it will get up to about 82°. I posted on FB that there were almost 6,000 lightning strikes in NorCal the past 24 hours. Several fires were started that way. I'm meeting 3 friends for lunch at a really nice restaurant today. So I'll get a *little* dressed up for the occasion. I'm on my way to pick up something I *won* on Buy Nothing: a bow maker! Dinner will be Horseradish Meatloaf. Oh my, check your spelling before making your sign!

leannec , are you going to at least get your burrito? You and I would be good shopping partners. I go, get what I need and get out as fast as possible. Enjoy your Saturday. ntsf , I hope that you have a fun day ahead.
cadoodlebug, my mother had a bow maker and it did make very pretty bows. Have fun at your luncheon. Thank you for asking leannec . Yesterday I ran my machine (Houston doctor) almost non-stop. I think I showed the machine to **GypsyGirl** on one of my trips. It's much duller right now. I'll see how the day goes. Today I'll be resting and running my machine, hoping to further eradicate the headache. I need to get a few things together for dh to pack, as well. Dinner will be some bao and steamed rice. Thank you packaged freezer food. I'm not doing anything productive. My lovelies, I wish for a fun, enjoyable, restorative day to all!

I bought breakfast sausage at the store this morning thinking we would have that tomorrow morning and then after the store I went to the bagel shop to pick up the bagels i ordered BEFORE I went to the store. So, we will likely have blueberry pancakes and sausage links for dinner. 😂

Good afternoon. I'm sitting in the cool and eating some Sriracha tempura seaweed snacks from Costco. I got them a few weeks back and decided they were fantastic! But I didn't get back to Costco until a week ago. I was so afraid they wouldn't have them any longer but they did!! So I bought 2 bags.😆
I'm sitting in the cool because I have been weed eating some spots in the yard, weeding the front garden and looking for the weed shields that I found a couple of weeks after after looking for several weeks for them in the garage. Welp, I'm ready to use them now and I can't frikken find them. Again. When I found them initially, I grabbed them and thought I need to put these in the open so I will have them at the ready. Somebody please tell me why this keeps happening. 🤪 I also painted the sample I got for my front porch ceiling. I'm going to embrace the crazy old southern lady and I'm painting it haint blue. I love the sample spot so I need to go get enough for my small porch.
Why did I do this in the later heat of the morning you ask? Because I watched the worst series on Netflix. I have the book and will read it next while the series is fresh. The internet said they strayed so far from the book. The Hunting Wives if you're wondering. It was so bad but I couldn't look away.
I'm about to vacuum and go clean the bathroom floors. I've done one load of laundry and have another ready to go. Once I shower, I'm pulling out one of my Lego sets. Dinner tonight will be some "steak" bites with peppers and onions, baby broccoli and maybe rice. I need to figure out a gravy solution.
Y'all have a good but cool day!

Today is my son’s birthday and he wants to go to Golden Corral of all places for dinner. Because we’re feeding three teenage boys. So Golden Corral it is. I’m grateful, because I’m buying! ETA for those who are unfamiliar, Golden Corral is a relatively cheap buffet place with probably terrible food, but I’ve never been there before, so who knows. Opinions from more knowledgeable diners are welcome. I thought we were going up to the lake/mountains from Monday till Wednesday. Turned out he thought it was Tuesday till Thursday. THEN it turned out our hosts thought it was Wednesday till Friday. Meanwhile I remembered I had problems with lightheadedness when we were at 4700’ elevation in May. Where we’re headed this time is 7500’. So the whole trip may be off now. I need to check with my doctor on Monday. grrrrr

I haven't posted in a few days...I've been sick with Covid. I started feeling not-so-great on Monday night/Tuesday AM, with a sore throat that quickly became very painful and was accompanied by congestion and cough. Thursday morning I took a home Covid test and was not surprised that it was positive. I had been telling DH that my symptoms felt exactly the same as when I had Covid 2 years ago when we were in Ireland.
Friday I had a telehealth visit with my doc and she sent in a couple of RXs, one of which was for the antiviral med. So I've had 2 doses of paxlovid so far and can definitely already feel a difference. Still need to sleep 24x7 but at least there's progress. Going to take a shower (finally!) and then go back to sleep...that is the sum of my plans for the day. DH and DS are keeping me fed and hydrated, and one of my dear SILs sent me a care package with lightweight fluffy socks and other niceties for comfort.
I don't know what's for dinner, probably soup for me and the other two will fend for themselves.

lucyg -- my DS and several family friends with boys the same age used to ask for Golden Corral a lot when the boys were tweens & younger teens. They'd try everything and then keep going back for more. The food is mediocre...okay. Don't expect gourmet, but it is plentiful and varied (and pretty cheap!). Enough to satisfy the caloric/protein/carb needs of teenage boys everywhere.

Dinner tonight is my BD dinner so it is out...and KelleeM will be joining us💝
Sadly my sweet Ida Mae ended up in the doggie ICU last night. She was medicated got IV fluids as she was so dehydrated. She got her ultra sound this morning...She has gastritis . So I have spoken to her MD twice today. She was fed around noon, and has kept it down so far. She will stay another night just to be sure, and will come home on meds to treat the gastritis. They would have let her come home today, however after what I saw with her vomiting yesterday I want to make sure she is really keeping food down.

karenlou - I hope Ida Mae is feeling MUCH better when she comes home tomorrow. lucyg - We would eat there when travelling with the kids - with one teenage boy and 2 kids with (different) food related texture issues....it was an easy way to feed all of them. The food is fine - nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it either - just basic American foods. They do have a decent salad bar though - nothing exotic but a good assortment of the basics. scrapmaven -I hope the migraine clears completely. DD18 has been battling with one all week - thankfully fairly mild but still...no fun. sueg - glad to hear the baby is home. Hi everyone else Dinner tonight is beef fajitas made by DD18

DH had a rough night. He was up most of the night with acid reflux. After many meds, he finally started to feel better. He was on the verge of going to emerg for a Pink Lady cocktail. Not sure what that concoction is but he had to have it once before and it was a miracle drug. He’s feeling much better now and has no idea what caused it.
For some reason my mom texted me at 3:21 am to see if I was okay!! I turn my phone off at night (can’t hear it anyway with my hearing aids out) so I didn’t see the text until this morning. I called her and she said her phone kept ringing and my name was on the screen. It definitely wasn’t me as I was zonked out in bed. I’m not sure if she was dreaming, hallucinating or if the phone really was ringing. Weird.
We are going to my besties house for supper tonight. Her DH went to chef school (although is now a real estate agent) so meals are always amazing at their place.

The teens are my grandson and steps. So sorry to hear about your bout with COVID. Hope you continue to improve quickly. ETA Linda, thank you also for the input. It sounds like I should be able to eat there pretty easily. Not like I’m some super-gourmet, anyway. LOL

I ate at what I think was Golden Corral in Edmonton and liked it because I could eat lots and it was better than CAB (Central Academic Building’s cafeteria which was terrible. I went with 2 good friends and we had fun. Getting home in -35°C was difficult. I liked the food there. That was in about 1989.

It was 30+ years ago and I haven’t been to Edmonton since 1990 or so.

lucyg--if you go up to 7500 ft, drink tons of water.. the day before and when you are up there. hydration is the best way to combat altitude.. and also don't try to do much. --for three days.. mostly don't do much..

Hi friends!
DH and I went to the used bookstore, the video game store, an indoor flea market (which was too people-y), and then a cat show. Lots of cute cats, but I can't help but think how much anxiety those poor babies must have.
We are having ham and potato soup for dinner next week, so we split a steak and had some baked potatoes for dinner.
Now I think it's time for some cross stitch while we watch The Sopranos.

Hi well I had avocado toast for dinner and Father had scrambled wggs and avocado toast. Dexter also had eggs. We are all full now and dinner was easy which is unusual.
I take my meds at 9 pm and after they start to work I have NFG and start eating again. I would really like to NOT DO THIS BEHAVIOUR. I am not even hungry but I am compelled to eat. How do you stop doing this? Just telling myself not to do it isn’t helping. My dad knows I do it but I hide the food from him. Why? I am eating the food he buys instead of wasting it. I would like to stop but do I really want to? I am going to set an alarm for 10 pm to tell myself not to eat. Do any of you have potential ideas? I have been doing it for 18 months when something changed.
