So weird that it is August! I still have another month off but the summer is flying by! I'm waiting for a person to come and pick up an item I've sold on Facebook Marketplace! Then Molly will be here in a couple of hours so that we can pick up her pants that were hemmed ... We'll go for lunch! No other plans for the day ... which is fine with me! I saw a first this morning! A dragonfly on my screen door! I hate bugs but it was outside. Dinner is undecided ... I'm uninspired these days! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

DH and I walked this morning ~ it was beautiful with a temperature of 71°. It will get up to about 92 this afternoon but that's okay. My Fitbit told me to take it easy as my cardio load has been high the last couple of days. I have a paper-crafting free event at the library this afternoon. A good friend signed too, so that will be fun. We never know ahead of time what the craft will be. Dinner will pork tenderloin. Tearisci , the chicken bake was good but I think I need to tweak it to make it great.

well survived day one of dead and co in golden gate park. the ada access was great til time to leave. the wait for shuttle was looong.. so we walked back to car. leaving earlier today.
great food.. got some satay.. early in afternoon. once music started we didn't leave our seats.. we had chairs on an elevated platform. and getting home afterward was fast (as locals we know where to go).. people from all over the country and the world there.
I do recommend listening to billy strings if you like bluegrass/americana music.. he is so so good.
good thing I packed snacks. I packed even more for today and though I had 3 layers on.. was cold sitting in the wind. so today I am taking my winter puffer. and more hats and scarfs and such..
people were very chill.

It’s another gorgeous day here with temps at 25 C and sunny. We have nothing planned so will just enjoy the day.
We decided to invite DS’s girlfriend’s parents back for supper tomorrow night. We will grill burgers and I’ll make a couple salads. That means a trip to the grocery store for some supplies. We enjoyed their visit yesterday and want to get to know them a bit better. They said a few times that they love DS so that makes me so happy. Both us moms are hoping there is an engagement, marriage and babies in the future. Or just babies!
Supper will be grilled pork chops.

Happy Saturday! It's been a busy week here and I finally felt it was time to start with some forward motion in life. Made lots of progress with the medical stuff. The wheelchair will be be picked up this next week and is going to the ALS loaner closet. The hospital bed is being donated to a man diagnosed with ALS that has begun to progress. His family will pick it up next Saturday. And all the ostomy supplies will be dropped off next week with an organization that assists patients with no insurance coverage. The wool rug in that room is being picked up Thursday morning for cleaning. I'll get any touch up painting done while it's gone. It's a relief to have all that sorted out. I've been doing a bit of work in the garden every day, pulling things that are past their prime and getting it ready for fall veggies the end of August/early September. Hard to believe I'm already planning that! Yesterday I woke up to a flock of 48 flamingos in my front yard! Was at a total loss but finally figured out DD had set it up. It is an early anniversary present (8/6 would have been 48 years). DH always made a huge deal of birthdays and anniversaries so she is picking up where he left off. The worst (but funniest) part was that she didn't realize the yard crew was coming that day. So I am out there in my pjs with the yard crew pulling up flamingos so they could mow, then putting them all back out! At least I was appropriately attired in these pjs! The whole time neighbors are driving and walking by commenting on it. All of this before I even got coffee made. Here are my house guests: Today I need to run to Central Market before the thunderstorms get here and pick up some things, then I'll be home sewing and needlepointing. Dinner will be whatever speaks to me at the grocery.

It is a FABULOUS summer day here in the northeast 74 degrees and sunny😎 I got an almost 14 mile bike ride in....Happy to do that early. I got my hair dried with no sweating and NO FRIZZ!!! First time all summer for no frizz!
I took hot dogs out of the freezer to grill for dinner, I have the potatoes cooling for potato salad and the cole slaw is made, so dinner will be easy...and the cold salads will make tomorrows dinner easy as well.

That's the beauty of that casserole, cadoodlebug. it's a blank canvas! Mom took a fall last night and ended up in the hospital for stitches in her head. They did a CT scan and found some air pockets in her esophagus that they were concerned about. We did tell them she is on hospice but they decided to admit her. I took my dad down there this morning. My sister stayed with her last night as they didn't get her into a room until 3:30 am. She's very out of it and we've got her on morphine to try and keep her calm. She's been so restless, and she tried to get out of the bed last night and fell. We're worried that it can happen again, so we're talking with hospice about either getting a hospital bed or a scooped out mattress that makes it harder for her to get up. If they don't come up with something, I know this will happen again. I hope she can go back to the facility soon and not have to stay in the hospital too long. It's just too hard on her and what we were trying to avoid with hospice. No clue what dinner will be tonight. I had a late lunch so I'm not super hungry.

My daughter's been wanting something just like that for months now and I finally decided after reading the thread the other day to make it. I was a little surprised that the stuffing is on bottom instead of on top?

**GypsyGirl**...OMG, LOVE the flock in your yard !!!! . How sweet of your daughter! I hope it didn't also make you too sad. Wow on 48 years. LOVE that meme! Not only is it accurate . (I have had to tell DH to pleeeeze never tell me to "calm down!" ) .....I also LOVE the guy's teeshirt!!! A Little Debbie Christmas cake instead of a real tree ---so fun! She's been so restless, and she tried to get out of the bed last night and fell. I'm so sorry to hear she fell, that is awful! But so glad she didn't fracture any bones! The staff who admitted her should have looked at her history and known she has dementia and is even more of a fall risk. There are ALARMS that can be put on her mattress, then maybe she wouldn't have fallen. Although---oops---I just realized it's easy to SAY that staff could have gotten to her BEFORE she fell, but that's actually not realistic, esp. with the nursing shortage just getting worse.

My daughter's been wanting something just like that for months now and I finally decided after reading the thread the other day to make it. I was a little surprised that the stuffing is on bottom instead of on top? I think it's because the soup can soak into the stuffing and keep it moist. You can add veggies or any combination of things to change it up a bit.

Hi I am miffed (laugh if you would please). I did my makeup nice. I posted it on my profile on Facebook and I am sweating and sticky and my makeup has all melted off. That doesn’t seem fair does it? 😁😂🙄
Dad is golfing and my friend and I went for coffee and I bought a couple of hats seeing how we are going away in October.

Next time I won't pack the stuffing down as much (I noticed in the other post they said not to pack it down), I will add some milk, some sliced mushrooms and some slivered almonds.

**GypsyGirl** I LOVE the flamingos on your front lawn! How sweet of your daughter to do that. And it's very kind of you to be donating the bed to someone who needs it. Tearisci your poor mum. I hope they can find a solution to help her stay in bed.
