I am bummed my Canon pixma mp560 died. I got it in 2010 for $80! My SO is like I think you got the use out of it... ha. We tried to check cord and power supply and that was all ok, so it's probably a board issue.
Anyhoo...I am in the market for a printer and I prefer to stay with Canon. I know some like the Epson one, did anyone switch to Epson from Canon and happier with that?
I also have a Canon selphy and use the Canon apps, so I am just used to it..not to mention still having paper.
When I search and try to compare, it is not as straight forward as it used to be with photo printers and I don't really see a regular size format at a reasonable price. Probably bad timing with tariffs too!
Appreciate any insight. I searched the last printer thread and it was from early 2024, so figure a new one would be good.
Thanks!

I’m an Epson girl, but I say if you like your Canon, then stick with Cannon!

I have a two Canon printers - one is a Pixma , plus a Selphy. I love my pixma too. I have been searching for a new Canon one also and have had a hard time finding one. I print pictures for years now at home and love the quality. I received an Epson printer for Christmas, and I read all the reviews on and it was supposed to be really awesome and I returned it and did not like it. I know so many love Epson PM, but I print a lot of 6x8 and 10x8 now for my albums. I am still searching for a Canon printer myself as a back up since mine is older. If you find one that you love, please let me know.

*pulls out soapbox and loud speaker*
Canon Pixma G6020, all day everyday. Refills are very affordable, I refill maybe every 10-12 months. Print daily. Everything in my videos I print at home. 4x6s, collages, journaling, hybrid materials, work stuff, school stuff, print on die cuts.

I just purchased a new printer. Like you, I'm a Canon person and would struggle to switch to another brand now.
I've always used Pixma printers but the cost of consumables is just so rough. I had started using off-brand ink cartridges but I got a bad batch and it ruined the colour reproduction on all of my prints from that point onwards. So this time I decided to spend a bit more money up front and go for a MegaTank printer that is primarly made for photo printing. In Australia the model number is a G660 - in other regions I believe it's a G650 or G620.
It's only been a short while but I am so, so impressed with it. The first test print I made was almost spot on and the quality is brilliant. But by far the best part is that the ink refills are incredibly affordable and I can already see just how much more I'm going to get out of these inks than with the tiny little cartridges I was using. I've done a lot of photo + hybrid printing since I've owned it an I've barely made a dent in the ink levels.

Mine is a Canon G3060. Got it in 2020 or 2021 and it has been great. Love the photos, and the ink is so efficient - it's mega tank, and I've only bought 1 set of refill inks the whole time I've had it, but those still have ink in them. And I have printed a lot of photos!
The *only* issue I had with it was when we moved it wouldn't connect to our new modem's 5G network! We had to set up a lower grade network for it to communicate.

Thanks for asking this question @scrapcat. I have been w/o a printer for a few years; the last one I purchased would never sync up w. my computer at the time so I gave up. The last printer I owned was an Epson and I wasn't very happy with it. It drank ink like crazy and was really just too expensive in the long run. The best printer I've had was a Lexmark but I guess they don't make those anymore. I'm thinking I may give Canon a try. Thanks everyone for the comments.
