mRNA research losing funding

I just can't. I have a computational biologist who is currently working on pediatric cancer - they have no fucking idea how science works.

Gotcha, so the technology that has shown promise in fighting and preventing many, many diseases. These people are the worst of the worst.

I also read that mRNA researchers are working on treatments and vaccines for cancer and other diseases.

I worked on mRNA vaccines over 30 years ago at Berkeley. It is not new technology by any stretch. RFK Jr. is a moron and will be getting an additional entry into the biting journal I keep.

well.. the scientists will up and move to europe and will hope to continue the research. kennedy is way way over his head and only the name protects him.. he is an idiot and should not be there.

As someone who has a gene driven cancer, I'm already living on the edge, to watch hope just being axed for millions of people makes me wretch. It just reiterates how little "conservatives" care about humanity. We have a dept of eugenics now. The people with money will figure out how to access innovations from other countries and the rest of us will rot. In seven months the administration has destroyed decades of research and development. People will die needlessly. So I guess congrats to all those slurping up the liberal tears, I hope it fuels you, because this shit will catch you too. I'm weeping even for you.

I hear the pharmaceuticals have been cut by 1200%, 1300%, 1500% so I'm sure they've got a handle on it all. /s

Replacing mRNA vaccine research with faux science woo of raw milk, seed oils and beef tallow. Yay.

Sometimes I wonder if the cancer industry, for lack of a better word, is just too lucrative for some...

I am getting to the petty part of my anger. I am tempted to have my prescriptions filled in a MAGA red area and then throw an absolute fit when I go to pick them up and they don't give me my money for my medications that were cut 1500% in price. With discounts like that, they own ME money with every fill! Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to the performative level of my pettiness yet.

I am having a harder time each day reading about all the hopeful, future forward things that we are losing almost daily. Meanwhile, not only are we not moving forward, we are actively being rolled back to times that were only good for wealthy, rich, white men and those living in the lie of nostagalia. If one more MAGA says they are not going to light themselves on fire to keep others warm, I may literally light them on fire! How about... don't light yourself on fire, but allow me (and others) to be warm.

It's an angry day... as we just found out that insurance will no longer cover brand name Vyvance, which we have been needing to fill for my son becuase of the shortages of both the brandname and generic, since the generic was introduced. He needs it to drive safely and be successful in college, which he just finally got back on track since the weirdness of COVID his senoir year and first year of college side tracked him. With only a one day window to track it down (per state and insurance restrictions) is already stressful, now this. The vaccine rollback also has me concerned about ADHD medication, becuase RFK Jr. threatened that too. We went through so much to ensure the correct diagnosis, got him in a good place, and now this. I've never lived in a time that our governement is actively working to ensure we fail and it truly sucks.

The mRNA vaccines have proven themselves with MMR. Measles was considered eliminated 20 some odd years ago! We've had the first deaths in over 30 years.


It will reach a point in very short order that even IF you want your kids and/or you to get vaccines they may not be available or will be financially out of reach or non-existent.

He has established a committee who will decide what tests, procedures insurance companies will be required to pay for, or not. From mammograms to exploratory surgery.

Many were already sick WITH Covid before they were diagnosed or hospitalized.... and died...

Oh I know. There was just an obsessive focus on how people who were sick and dying had “preexisting conditions,” as if that meant their lives were not worth protecting.
