It says it's about tipping for counter staff, though. They generally make at least minimum wage so some people don't feel they should be tipped. I always do, but some people don't.

True, but in a lot of states, minimum wage is only $7.25/hour. I can see why Californians balk at tipping someone making almost $20/hour. ETA - Oh, I forgot. New law that fast-food workers in big chains have a minimum wage of $20/hour in CA.

Minimum wage in Seattle is $20.29…counter tipping is not something I do unless I’m getting a large to-go order or the cashier is especially engaging.
