Sorry if already posted. I just realized that the season that starts in September is all former Big Brother contestants!

I suppose that is fun for big brother watchers. I don’t watch that so it seems pretty disappointing. I like when it’s just “regular” teams. I might not even watch.

I saw that - I am excited for a new Amazing Race season. I am surprised they pulled some many people from season 26 - Angela, Tucker, Rubina and Chelsea.

Is every single contestant a former big brother? I thought they were just mixed in with the others, but I could’ve read it wrong.

Interesting! I’ve never watched big brother so I guess it’ll be new to me players.

Facebook complaints were making it seem that all contestants were from Big Brother. Between this and my annoyance with CBS right now, I think this might be the first year in Amazing Race history that I don't watch.

Each team has a big brother contestant and a 'loved one'. Except 1 team is made up of two former BB contestants (Taylor and Kyland who apparently are dating).
I stopped watching race a few years ago. I'm familiar with most of the BB contestants - some of them I have forgotten. Personally I would prefer a season with regular people as the reason I stopped watching was there were people who seemed to only be on for camera time.
However, I am tempted to watch a couple just to see. There is another former 'couple' on separate teams, Rubina and Tucker. Pretty sure they have split (in a friendly way).

I love The Amazing Race and was so excited to see it coming back. I was disappointed to see the contestants are all from Big Brother. Never watched it. Never had any interest in it. I wish they would just use "regular" people again. So much more interesting to me than wanna be celebrities.
I'll watch and hope for the best but if it's bad I will stop watching.

I watch BB here and there so I doubt I know the majority of Race contestants. That is fine with me. Either you know them from BB and like watching them on this show, or you don't know them and they are 'new to you' players no matter what. *shrugs*

Last year the Canadian Amazing Race had a couple that had met on BB & were racing together. They were horrible to watch as they were so full of themselves and tried to impress the viewers with their *knowledge* of how reality shows work, use the cameras to their best advantage, etc. Just gross (to me) to watch. Yes, they won a few races but then ~~~ Kevin Robert Martin and Gurleen Maan are a Dating team on The Amazing Race Canada 10. The couple from The Traitors Canada 1, with Kevin also being a poker player and a Big Brother veteran, they used a lot of strategies and gameplay throughout the season. However, after Kevin & Gurleen won the first leg, it turned out they were playing too hard and they rubbed other teams in the wrong way, which led to them being U-Turned once and being Passed twice by Taylor & Katie.
Nonetheless, they were able to make it to Semi-Final Leg. After multiple switching places in Leg 8 from task to task, Kevin & Gurleen eventually became the team who struggled in the Mi'kmaq language challenge the most, even with a 2-hour penalty for Michael & Tyson, they stayed on that challenge for too long and weren't able to catch up, thus they were eliminated in 5th Place. From www.bellmedia.ca/The spoiler just elaborates on their attitude. The racers left Eastern Ontario and headed for the Maritimes, where they were tasked with finding a “golden oyster,” hitting water targets with a ball while on a zip line, and competing in an exhausting fire-fighting Face Off.
Following a Detour in which the racers had to choose between dancing and detective work, they were presented with a super tough memory challenge.
Michael and Tyson quickly determined that they just weren’t going to be able to succeed. So they made the strategic but risky decision to ditch the challenge, and proceed immediately to the mat, knowing that they would be assessed a two-hour penalty.
That’s when the excruciatingly tense waiting game began. Michael and Tyson had to hope that at the end of their two-hour penalty, there would be at least one team still out there racing.
Lauren and Nicole arrived at the mat next, to win the leg. Then came Taylor and Katie, followed by Colin and Matt, for second and third place, respectively. Michael and Tyson still waited. But where were Kevin and Gurleen? They had lost some time at the memory challenge, and then made a few wrong turns trying to find the Pit Stop. Tick … tick … tick …
The crucial moment finally came when Montgomery called Michael and Tyson over to the mat, telling them that the two hours had passed. They could now be officially checked in, locking them into fourth place, and thus earning the final spot in the finale.
When Kevin and Gurleen subsequently arrived, the agony was etched all over their faces as they were given the devastating news that they had been eliminated, and that the margin was “mere minutes.”
“How many minutes?” Gurleen asked.
“Less than five,” Montgomery replied.
As everything sunk in, dating couple and Canadian reality TV royalty Kevin and Gurleen tried to sum up what they were feeling.
“I’m so proud of Gurleen, I’m so proud of us, but that’ll hurt … that’ll hurt,” Kevin admitted. “Thank you guys so much for having us. It was the greatest time of our lives, and I mean that. It was really special.”
Asked to share her general takeaway, Gurleen replied, “honestly, just how amazing our partnership is, and how much I love him.”
But Kevin and Gurleen didn’t completely drop their trademark competitive attitude.
As Kevin put it, “those teams are lucky we’re not in the finale, because we would have won this whole thing.”
I find it difficult to watch people make complete @$$e$ of themselves without really acknowledging for how they are acting, but to watch people who have been on a reality competition show like BB and thinking of their self entitlement (prior knowledge and participation in a back-stabbing show like BB) will completely ruin the whole race. Let people who really wouldn't have a chance of seeing the world, who have worked hard to get into physical & mental condition to run the race with the spirit that it was originally intended to be run, have the opportunity instead of those who have had their 15 minutes of fame and self inflated self worth. I guess I'm the old woman screaming "get off of my lawn" ( ) to the kids. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've never watched one minute of Big Brother so they'll all be new to me. I like watching it mostly for the travel anyway.

I heard Tucker & Rubina were still dating during filming. The show was filmed March into April and they announced their breakup in May but who knows when they actually broke up. When I first saw the group photo on FB the other day, I thought Enzo's brother was Hisam from season 23 and that Enzo was his civilian brother. ha!
