As a republican in NYS, yes, I'm in the minority for federal elections; for state elections, I'm usually in the majority.

Now that I live in W. Washington, No. But I grew up and lived in E. Washington for several years and I was DEFINITELY a political minority over there!

Yes, I still vote but this state is so heavily Democratic that I often wonder why the rest of us even bother. It's actually not even the entire state, the Eastern side of the state is conservative, but the population of the Western side doesn't give them much say at all. This. And it can be very frustrating when things on the state level are voted on because usually the ones who benefit from it are on the west side of the state. (I said usually...don't burn me at the stake West side peas! LOL!) I am registered independent and my voting can actually be all over the place, though I tend to be conservative. As a general rule, I hate politics and researching candidates and initiatives to vote on gives me heart burn.

I actually waited a long time to register to vote because I didn't want to be forced to vote down party lines and I'm neither a dem nor a repub. I just happen to have a conservative nature when it comes to large decisions/commitments, yet I'm very free with people's individual choices Being on the western side of the state I can truly imagine how frustrating it is for the eastern side, the Seattle/King county area makes so many of the decisions for everyone.

We must be! I feel that exact way. And yes, it can be frustrating. We have so many issues that need addressing on this side but a majority of the funding goes to the West side. The general feeling amongst the people I know over here is that we are often ignored and used for the tax revenue we provide. I'm just sayin', the north-south freeway should have been done by now!

Yes, I am. Hoping to see some change in the November elections. People are getting tired of the status quo.

Oh gosh yes. I would love to vote more often, but typically there aren't even any candidates from my party running for office on a local level.

Not at all. Louisiana is even more red than Texas.
However, the state in which I wish to reside leans Democratic, so hopefully one day I will be.

Not in my state - no. In my city....it can be questionable at times.
And major thumbs up for Compwalla! I admire anyone who is able to get involved and make a difference.

I am solidly liberal and I live in a deep red state. I still vote in every election though!
Our Gov. race this year is getting very interesting! Incumbent Repulican Sam Brownback has made a mess of this state and most polls are predicting that so many people are unhappy with him that the challenging Democrat has the advantage. Keeping my fingers crossed that the polls have it right!

I am in the political minority for my county and city. Although I sometimes feel like there is not majority or minority at the local level-just oddness on all sides. LOL. I fall in the majority at the state level.

Yes! My blue vote in the red state of Kansas is wasted. Doesn't keep me from voting though. Hopefully Brownback will be kicked out of office in the next election.

For sure. I'm a Democrat in South Carolina.
I have a decent number of like minded friends and acquaintances, but we're certainly not well represented in the state leadership.
