A friend and I did it last year...think we make it to about 12 stores. Looks like there are 20 or so on the list for this year. We are going to try and make it to all of them. Anyone else planning on playing this year? Would love any feedback you have for stores on the list that are in your area too. My LSS (Ben Franklin, Redmond) is on the list. I think it's a great store. Lots of product (better than the other Ben Franklin's in my opinion for scrappy stuff). Staff is very friendly and helpful. I am always asked if I need any help finding something. Great displays if you are looking for ideas too. The only negative for me, is that they don't have more cardstock. They have a lot, but I miss shopping for cardstock at The Scrapbook Nook in Kent (so sad they closed). Northwest Paper Chase 2015

Hum, looks interesting, but a bit of a drive for this Oregon 2Pea refugee! I live almost 3 hours from the closest store I have been to Impress, Craft Warehouse Gresham, Peddlers Pack (more than 10 years ago!) and A Joy Forever. Have fun!

I did the chase a few times and really enjoyed it. But I just don't need to do the shopping. I really enjoyed going to all the different little shops, but it's sad to see so many that have closed over the years. Some of the smaller shops aren't open on Sunday's even during the hop so that made it difficult to go to as many as possible.

No, I've never done it and don't think I would enjoy that much driving.
But I will have to stop by the store in Everett if DH ever gets a craving for Weinerschnitzel and we end up out there for that.

That is not a very good Weinerschnitzel We've been there a couple of times and the last time was a few years ago. It was really bad. We had good memories of them in San Diego but that one has never been as good. Dh loves hot dogs after living in New York and Chicago. I wish we could find a really good hot dog place around here.

Well gmcwife1, sometimes you've got to work with what you've got. It's the only one in the state (I think), and it reminds him of home (So Cal). I even tried making the copycat recipe chili for him and it was not the same.

I didn't know the store in Kent had closed. The last few times I was there, I noticed that they weren't getting in many new lines, and that a lot of their stock was becoming pretty dated, and that they were thus probably entering the retail death spiral. It is too bad -- it was a really nice store several years ago.
I can't get the link to work to see the current stores.

Links are so hit and miss here. I am on my phone and can't re-link now. But, you can Google Northwest Paper Chase and get their site/store list.
I don't need to shop that much. But, we have fun together and its a nice road trip.

Joy Forever is in danger of closing, she says sales have dropped too much for her to stay open unless something changes. I hope it drives some more business her way, it is a very nice store. She has had two cars crash through the store and still manages to keep going. I wish she had room for crops like Life's a Scrapbook did, I miss the all day crops. In any event, most of the stores are too far for me',but I am going to try to find the one in Vancouver and stop by a Joy Forever this weekend!

Kicking off the Paper Chase this weekend!
There is a new store opening in Kent...Running with Scissors - 26129 104th Ave SE - Kent (in the Target/Ross shopping center). They had to delay their grand opening due to the issue with the East Coast weather and dock workers strike. They should be open this Friday at 10:00 am.

That is so weird that the new store is called "Running with Scissors." There is a store called exactly this in Independence Oregon as well. I stop there sometimes on the way to the family beach house at Cannon Beach. It's usually Saturday morning and the owner seems to always be preparing supplies for upcoming crops. She's never been terribly helpful, but it's a cute little place and I would imagine a fun place to crop.

Running with Scisdors is in the same spot as Scrapbook Nook. I was told it was started by a former SB Nook teacher.
We had a fabulous time today.
Urban Scrapbooker. Such great customer service. I didn't realize they opened at 11:00 and we showed up at 10:00. A couple employees were in the store and let us in early.
Lila's - she was so friendly and welcoming. Lots of great laser or Cameo-like die cuts.
Craft Mart - seriously lacking in inventory and new stuff. Not sure I would go back because it was hard to find things to buy.
Collage - FABULOUS store. Loved the employees and area. Found a ton of patterned paper there that I haven't seen before.
Forget Me Not - a little on the dark side. Small, but most of the inventory was fresh.
Stampdoodle - FABULOUS. We were running late and called to see if they would stay open a little late. We got there 15 minutes after closing and the owner was there. She was so welcoming! Store is huge. Stamp selection was ginormous. Lots of neat patterned papers. A little light on 12x12 card stock. She stayed open an hour past closing. Well worth the drive for us.

Sounds like a blast! I'm also so happy to hear you had great customer service. How cool that the stores accommodated your group happily, by opening early/staying late!

Wow that is quite a drive you will be making,CMPeter. I live near Salem but have never been to Runaway. I will have to check it out. The craft warehouse in Salem is good, though I don't know that they have a ton of new lines. The drive from Salem to the Dalles is a long one, have fun!

Is the craft warehouse in Salem the same as the Gresham one? It's only Greshsm that is participating.
We knocked out four stores today. Started at my LSS, Ben Franklin in Redmond. They had an adorable pac man photo op with pac man masks. I think they do a good job ways having new stuff.
Then we headed to Impress in Tukwila. I love this store and could spend hours there. So many cute displays and embellishments. Tons of rubber stamps, but I am not a stamper.
Then we went to Impress at U Village. Cute, but so small compared to Tukwila. They had a class going on which made the place super crowded.
Last stop was Ben Franklin in Monroe. Had a great Jumani theme. Played a round of the game and based on the number you rolled, you were sent to a different area of the store to look for a hidden safari hat. Inside the hat was a letter that corresponded to a free grab bag item. Very creative photo op display too.
Now to rest up for next weekend when we head down to the Portland area stores.

The Craft Warehouse in Gresham is probably just the same as the one in Salem. We had a couple more stores in the area, but sadly, they are all gone now. I have been to the Running with Scissors that someone else mentioned in Independence. It is a cute store, but nothing really new in it. I think they have been buying some of the Graphic 45 packs at Tuesday Morning and are selling them individually. That is probably a 20 minute drive from the Runaway store in Salem. I don't think I would go out of my way to see it though.

I remember a couple stores last year that were not worth the time to stop, but don't remember which ones those were. In any case, we are trying to make sure we hit them all up, even if we don't end up buying anything. We were trying to pace ourselves and try and make it so there are still things we want to buy as we hit up the stores on the end of our list. It's hard when you see something cute though since you don't know if it will be at another store.
The OR Running with Scissors store isn't on the Paper Chase list, so we won't head over there.

The Gresham CW is pretty nice, much bigger than the other CW I have been to and clean and bright. I like the a lot. The Molly's one in Vancouver is super small, like the size of Dutch Brothers coffee drive through small. She is super nice though and has a lot of copics. She does make and takes on certain days, I wonder if she has something for the paper chase? Craft Mart used to have great, new merchandise. I was so bummed when I was there in November, there was nothing new. If you have any need for Disney stuff Joy Forever has the best selection!! She actually has a lot of unusual themed stuff, things I don't see other places. So jealous of all the shopping you are doing! When ever I am up in your area I am visiting nieces and nephews and can't seem to tear myself away to go shopping(except for my last visit to Craft Mart) Maybe I need to arrange a visit when they are out of town!
