How fortunate you discovered the significance of the watch before selling it. Sounds like it may now be priceless for you.

A shadow box sounds a wonderful way to preserve such a treasure. What a lucky thing for you that the jeweller opened the watch. Do you have any children or cousins that in time it could be passed down a generation again?

A shadow box sounds a wonderful way to preserve such a treasure. What a lucky thing for you that the jeweller opened the watch. Do you have any children or cousins that in time it could be passed down a generation again? I do have 2 sons that I can pass it down to. It warms my heart reading all your beautiful comments. I am a only child and come from a very small family, my closest cousin passed away suddenly at only 64, so I have no one left to say 'remember when' with. Having this holds my memories together just a little it better. I love all the ideas about what to put in the shadow box, especially the wedding announcement. I did some research on Ancestry and without looking, I'm pretty sure I found some records showing when they were married. The only way to see the engraving is if the watch is open, thus not fitting into box. Here is a pix of the other side, the M is for Mabel, my grandma. the outside is still beautiful, I was thinking of taking a good photo of the inside of watch and including that in shadow box. I already ordered a very small box from Amazon last night, now with all your ideas, I think it calls for getting a larger size! Here is the inside, and yes it still works!!! ![](http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y271/aleekatt/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsaca56894.jpg)

GREAT story ! I happen to love jewelry. I have some pieces from my Mom, Dad and a favorite Aunt and Uncle. I treasure them dearly and feel closer to them when I wear their pieces. Hold tight to the memories and stories you do have.
