I would add a few additional options: - Telestrations or Wits and Wagers - good party games for various numbers of people. I think they are both easily available. - Bang the Dice Game or King of New York - these will require you ordering online or going to a board game store. I'm pretty sure they are both at Amazon and you can learn them in 15 minutes. They are both a lot of fun and they are fast and easy to learn with really short rules, important since all of you are playing for the first time together. King of Tokyo would be a good alternate to King of New York.
Or for something different try the Resistance. Great game.
Nothing ruins a great evening more than spending it reading a rule book - I've been there. Brutal. So make sure you get a game with easy rules and review them before if you can. Evan play a game through that way you'll be able to get right into the game with your friends.

Quelf is a great party game. It really gets people loosened up and laughing.

Ds got Settlers of Catan for Christmas. We have been playing it about once an evening. At first glance, it looked like it might be too complex but DH watched a brief YouTube video and we realized it was actually very easy. Our 10 and 11 year olds love it and can't wait to play. Drawback is it is made for 4 people. To play with more, you need an expansion that brings you up to a max of 6.
