My hairdresser is trying to get pregnant. Good for her. Not so good for me. I told her I'll hold the baby whilst she cuts my hair and she said I'm not the first one to say that. She is having at least a year off. I do not want to get a new hairdresser.

My hairdresser is about 55 and single. Never married but has a new cat. This is important when looking for a hair dresser (all said in jest of course!)

Have got to wish her all the best for that but oh, I feel for you.....and with you not being the first one to make that remark, it sounds as though she is a very good hairdresser too!

Saying in jest - Not a first world problem but a possible first world problem, as she isn't even pregnant yet.

My bff is a hairstylist, her clients freak out when she goes on vacation, for a week.
She was put on bed rest when she was pregnant, and some of her clients were really mad.

Keep being reeeeeeeaallllly nice to her and maybe she won't cut you loose. My stylist comes to my house. Maybe she'll do the same or let you go to hers?

Lol. My hairdresser had knee surgery and had to reschedule my appointment. I am due! And it's obvious.

I've just been through this and it wasn't a disaster! My hairdresser owns the salon so at least I know she'll come back but while she's been off (since May), I've been really happy with the guy doing my hair, in fact, it was quite refreshing to have a little change. So I hope you can switch to someone else in the salon while your girl is off, and they're good! Fingers crossed for you. I understand your angst though lol!

I would ask for her recommendation on a new, temporary stylist. But be prepared for her to not come back, it could happen. I have finally found a stylist who doesn't completely butcher my hair so I would be devastated if she took extended leave.

Dang! I barely took off four weeks when I had my baby. My clients were about to die. I did take the baby to the salon with me some for customers to hold while I was cutting their hair. They loved it!

This happened to me once a few years ago. I ended up using another girl in the same shop (they were friends). But, I ended up liking the girl I switched to more! So, I never went back to my original stylist.

UPDATE: My hairdresser is due in six weeks and off until Mid January. I'll just not have a haircut until then and be a bit Sasquatchy
