A friend dropped in to see me a couple of days ago and was telling DSO and I that she joined up on a messageboard (for a particular breed of dog) and with her first post managed to piss off the entire board. She had every member there telling her what an awful dog owner she was, she should only be allowed to have pet rocks or stuffed animals, the authorities should take her dog away etc etc. She was so upset that she deleted her post (yeah yeah, rookie mistake!!) so then someone posted a new thread to continue the bashing! DSO said to her "You should have just stuck to 2 Peas." Clearly he has never ventured here in the middle of a classic Pea shit-storm!! (In case you're wondering what set everyone off on the dog site - she was asking for advice on something-or-other, and mentioned that her 6 month old samoyd sleeps outside. Now keep in mind that it is summer here, and by "outside" she means the undercover al fresco area on a big doggie mattress. I think the other posters were all in the Northern hemisphere where it is currently winter and freezing.)

Your DSO is a keeper! I am in the same hemisphere as you and it is so hot here at the 'mo I wish we could sleep like the Samoyed, al fresco. I hate aircon.

That is so funny! I have read out a few things when it has been epic here and my husband thinks we are from another planet LOL. Yes the hemisphere thing probably was the thing she didn't even think about. It is lovely outside at this time of year at night

I've lived in Australia, and I would say it would be more dog abuse to make the dog sleep INSIDE in the Australian summer.... As long as there is shade outside of course. Loved what your DSO said

My dh refuses to acknowledge conversations I tell him about here. He doesn't get it.

Now I'm wondering if this is a gift your friend has or just a flash in the pan Can she do a repeat performance on here with her first post? You know the number of topics the peas 100% agree on are few and far between.

No one gets riled faster than a bunch of animal lovers. They can be brutal! I've seen nasty behavior on animal boards that makes this place look like a kindergarten!
I can't even post on animal boards. It's useless to try and be sensible and reasonable most of the time, because so many (NOT ALL) of the people there have limited social skills, and usually limit social contact to animals whenever possible.
I consider myself a cat person, but nowhere near to the degree some of those people do.
