Good morning ladies! I'm in a bit of a hurry this morning. DD wanted me to curl her hair this morning which requires 15 mins of blowdrying because her hair is long and thick. Then we did the curling and even with product, the curls didn't hold. So we wasted like 45 mins. And she's disappointed. And to top it off, same dd says her stomach hurts. It's my day to work so she's going to school (said she doesn't feel like she's going to throw up just that her stomach hurts). Breakfast this morning was yogurt, strawberries and granola...and coffee. Hope you ladies have a great day!!

Aw, Brandy, so sorry about your dd's hair. That's so disappointing when things don't work out. :/ I hope she's not getting sick! I'm up extra early today and already have a load of laundry in the washer and dryer and the dishwasher loaded. Truth be told, I was so tired after a really long day that went awry yesterday, I went to bed at 9pm and left the dinner dishes sitting on the counter. Yesterday was a difficult day to stay on track but I did and I'm really pleased with myself for that. ha! I ended up working 3 hours later than I was originally scheduled. I didn't have lunch with me but luckily I did have a snack (some turkey, a boiled egg white and an orange) so I ate that and held myself over until I got home at 5pm. I was wiped and didn't feel like making the soup I had planned so I swapped out dinner plans and fixed the chicken alfredo pizza I had scheduled for Friday. Truth be told, 3 weeks ago, I would have ordered carry out pizza and not even bothered to cook anything. So even though I was craving pizza, I made it in a healthy way with a very thin crust. I ate 3 pieces for 13 points plus. So much less than if I had ordered carry out and it turns out I was just as satisfied with a healthy comfort food. However, I didn't get any workout in at all and I didn't make it to 10,000 steps yesterday. Sometimes things just don't go as planned. And that's ok. Today I'm not working and I'm off to step class this morning and I have yoga class tonight. First time in a long time I've been to yoga! I'm expecting to feel very tight and struggle a bit. But I have to get back into it asap. I'm going to make a new dish tonight and have DH stick it in the oven when I'm on the way home from yoga. SkinnyTaste Baked Pasta w/ Sausage & SpinachOther than that, my day is filled with paperwork, laundry and housework. Enjoy your day!

I had a good work-out last night. I upped the weight on my squats (only because the gym was packed and I couldn't find the weights I needed) but my form kind of sucked 'cause I couldn't get down as far as I wanted to without risking falling on my ass.
I'm finding that I struggle to eat back my exercise calories especially if I work out later in the day. I'm just going to have to be okay with that (as long as I get over 100g of protein).
My youngest turns 13 tomorrow (two teenagers, just f@#$ing shoot me) so I'm going to have to get out of bed early to exercise because I won't have time to do it after work. I'm a morning person but 5:30 is still too early for me. We're having dinner at PF Changs so I'm off to their website to find some nutritional info.

I've been at this 2 teen thing for awhile. It has it's moments, but there are lots of good ones too. I haven't done weighted squats for awhile. I had a workout partner that spotted me, but she isn't able to work out at this gym anymore. I need a partner or I feel like you did and that frustrates me so I don't bother.

Last week was a struggle for me. Scale was up a pound.
I'm on my first work trip of the year. Juat a day trip. Got up and walked on the beach for about 40 minutes. It was really cold & windy.. But peaceful!
Trying to stay on track today!

Hey girls. I'm hanging in there, but the scale is not moving. I think part of the issue may be all the high-sodium foods I've been eating. It's been crazy and stressful so I've been relying on some prepackaged stuff. I'm also tempted by low-point, salty snacks like beef jerky and pickles. The other part of the equation is I have been sluggishly avoiding working out. Trying to get my mojo back but it's been hard. But I'm going to keep on trying, keep on journaling, and today get on the treadmill for at least a 20 minute walk.I refuse to give up!

Hey ladies!
I am managing to stay on track - which has always been hard for me. It helps that I work from home, so I'm easily able to make things that work for me. (of course, I made 4 hard boiled eggs yesterday, used one for my lunch salad, and came home to find middle DD had scarfed two down...sigh)
This morning is a smoothie again - frozen strawberries, yogurt & almond milk, a spoonful of chia seeds and a large handful of spinach. Not the prettiest looking colour, but it tastes good and fills me up!
No idea what the rest of the day holds - I have cake to do (making it super hard to not lick the spoon...lol) and a meeting at 7:30 tonight. I'll have to pull something out of the freezer for dinner - no idea what yet!

Only down .4 pounds this week (I blame the lactation cookies I discovered...LOL), but that's the equivalent of almost 2 sticks of butter, so I'll take it!

I am the class slacker and slow learner of this group. I didn't work out yesterday at all. I had to take kids to a competition for school and ended up eating a burger and fries at Wendy's for lunch then had a chicken salad at 9 when I got home from job number 2. I think Wed. Is going to be my free day from exercise from now on. I need a break in the middle of the week. I need ideas on how to get more steps in during the day. I have a hard time getting 10000 even when I work out,

Yesterday was kind of a lazy day for me. I feel like I'm coming down with the crud AGAIN, so I took it easy. Had leftover soup last night and workout was doing 4 loads of laundry.
Today I'm eating almost a repeat of yesterday. B: Ham & Egg cups w/avocado L: Leftover cabbage, sausage and northern bean soup S: Atkins bar D: Not cooking. We'll probably go Greek and I'll get Lamb Souvlaki with sauteed spinach.
If I feel up to it, I'll go for a run. The sun is FINALLY coming out this afternoon, so I feel like I should take advantage.

I have a hard time getting 10000 even when I work out, I certainly don't work out every day. For me, that would be impossible to keep up.
As for increasing your steps - what do you will depend on your lifestyle. I'm an auditor so I spend a lot of time parked in a chair in front of a computer. I also live in a city where, today, it's -15C. To get extra steps, I head over to the mall at lunch time and walk. I grocery shop almost every day and I hit every aisle, whether I need to or not. When I'm short on steps, I bundle up and get out to walk the neighbourhood.

My gym sent out an email this morning for a daily challenge. I'm game! Today's challenge - Do Yoga. Uhm, yeah, I'm probably the least flexible person you will meet and I'm burdened with T-rex arms. Yoga and me are a ridiculous pairing. Still, I signed on for it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Not sure how today will go, but I'll do my best. I called my dad yesterday and found out that my mom (that I haven't talked to in almost two years) is in the hospital. They're divorced, but she has alienated almost everyone and my dad lives close and is the only one who will help her (poor guy). Ugh. I'm meeting with a family therapist in a couple hours to get some advice on what to do. Of course this resulted in some stress eating last night (hello chocolate), but I did go to Zumba and had a healthy dinner. Today will be lots and lots of coffee, I'm sure. Was hoping to hit the gym this morning but I was way too tired. I think I'll try and fit in a walk this afternoon because tonight we have tickets to a hockey game. Keeping my stomach in check will be my biggest goal today. Ok, sorry for the downer post! I've actually been doing pretty good, lots of exercise and veggies, but my weight is stuck in a stupid plateau and that can be a challenge. I went through this last year at the same time of year, and it broke eventually so I know there is hope. Plus, I'm down to my last 20 lbs. so I'm sure it's slowing down. I was also excited to exchange the Fitbit dh got me for Christmas for the new Charge HR version, but the store still doesn't have them in stock. Does anyone else have the new one? Hope everyone has a great day!

I came across this yesterday. It's a really good pictorial with some great ideas! That is a great link, thanks for sharing!
Today in my 14th day of phase 1 south beach diet. I am finding it relatively simply and I've been fairly successful. I've lost 11 lbs. By the book I should start gradually re-introducing fruit and grains but this is where things usually fall apart for me. My plan is to continue phase 1 with maybe a fruit every second or third day, and maybe some stuff like seafood cocktail sauce or ketchup on my eggs once in a while.
Exercise is going well with zumba tonight.

Sorry some of you are having a bad day/week If the scale doesn't move, ignore it. It will eventually if you stick with it. I'm FINALLY seeing scale results, after about three months of minimal losses but lots of tightening/muscle building. I'm now 6.8 lbs from goal, which is great, but I realized I need to set a new goal now! And I think it's achievable, for the first time in years, because of the facebook groups I belong to (I feel oddly compelled to be 100% honest with them, like if I even eat a cookie I list it in the day's food, and it makes me really think before I eat!). After getting my hair done the other night, it was getting to be about 7pm and I was starving. I really didn't want to drive home and cook. My car nearly drove itself right through the McDonald's drive thru for a quarter pounder with cheese and a large fry--but the thought of that group kept me driving right past and I went home and made dinner. I'm thankful for my meal planning menu, it helps so much when faced with "what's for dinner". Last night again I felt like skipping the cooking, but I'm glad I didn't now. I stepped on the scale today and saw some real results. Good luck everyone--and remember, every day is a chance to make new choices and set it right! For anyone doing the 21 Day Fix, are you going to order the new 21 Day Fix Extreme? It comes out soon. I saw a preview and it looks like it will literally kill me. I'm ready!!! Doing my 3rd round right now, I'll be ready for something new for my 4th round.

You are all doing so great! I am going to go home tonight ang do my PiYo video and possibly go for a walk if it isn't too cold. I am going to make ham and bean soup for dinner. It's quite filling so I should be able to get through the evening without snacking.

monicad Sorry you're dealing with some stress. Like Ang said, try to get out for a walk - helps clear the mind. I'm finally sitting for more than 30 seconds. I had a fantastic day as far as eating and working out goes. I stayed on track all day with eating and my net calories haven't even hit 1000. I've eaten my meals and I just had some graham crackers and pb as a snack. I may have something else a little later but it's already 8:10 so I may not. Getting up at 5am really takes a toll on me and by Thursday, I'm usually a big ol' blob of junk. I'm usually tired and unmotivated. But today I felt pretty good so I was able to get in a solid 45 minute workout that burned over 300 calories. For lunch I had a Subway double chicken chopped salad and 2 rice cakes (needed something sweet). Dinner was breaded and baked chicken bites, vegetarian baked beans and broccoli. DH and kids had pasta but I wanted to skip that so I had the beans instead. Works out because no one else likes beans here. Good job to all of you that are staying on track and doing well! And to those struggling - DON'T GIVE UP!! It's taken me 11+ years to lose and keep off 120+ lbs. But dammit, I did it! I refuse to give up!! Stick with it and the payoff will be worth it!!

Everyone seems to be pretty focused and doing a great job!
I work my second job Wednesday nights and sometimes am starving when I get home (around 9pm) because I eat my dinner before I teach class (about 4:30). I packed a blender bottle with a scoop of whey protein in case I got hungry but I didn't need it.
Today after work I went to CrossFit (rowing, rowing, and more rowing), then to a memorial service that had desserts galore, but I had to leave pretty quickly to pick up DD so I avoided those. I have some Paleo pumpkin chili (out of the freezer) that I threw into a bowl with some sweet potato shreds and had a big hot bowl of that after working out (in the 45 minutes between coming home, showering, then out the door again for the service).
I started meal planning a little for next week since the store ads came in the paper today.
Hope everyone has a good Friday!
