Now that both teams have their new head coaches which team Do you think hired the better coach?
The sports writer for my local paper feel the Raiders will climb out if the celler and the 49ers are going down.
I think I agree with him. But then I think the 49ers need a new quarterback.
What do you guys think?

The Raiders have no where to go but up.
The Niner's coach is someone the players like ~ time will tell how good he is. I think this past year they tried to mold Kaep into something he wasn't. That's on them. Let him do what he did the first year and see what happens. JMHO.

The Raiders could stay in the celler indefinitely but I do think with the new coach and their quarterback they won't While the players may like Tomsula the real question is can he coach and be the teacher and mentor Jed York wants. As to Colin Kaepernick I think he is being given a pass. Maybe because the 49ers don't want to admit they made a mistake in staying with Kaepernick and letting Alex Smith go. If you remember Alex Smith got the team to position of going to the playoffs before he got hurt. The team has not played to that caliber since Kaepernick has become quarterback. What folks are saying is he can learn this and that. But my question is how long does he need since he has already had the experience of playing a Superbowl and 2 complete seasons as the quarterback? I want the 49ers to win but I'm just not seeing a happy outcome anytime soon with this choice. Oh for the good old days when Eddie D ran the club...

I'd say getting your team to the Super Bowl counts for playing to that caliber. ETA: Yeah, the days of Eddie D are long gone. Salary caps and all that.

The Bills have a new coach too....not sure what to make of Rex Ryan. BUT we don't have a QB and the rumors here are a trade with the Niners for Kaepernick....OY....I don't want him here.

I liked how the Raiders looked at the end of the year. Hoping that get out of the cellar.

Haven't heard the rumors out here. I'm still chapped that we could have drafted Aaron Rodgers back when we took Alex Smith. My DH was so upset about that and still hasn't gotten over it.

The SF pick for coach is interesting. I think they just wanted to go in a different direction, and wanted the players to like the coach. I think the Raiders made a wise choice with their new coach, and I'm not saying that because he is a fellow USC Trojan. The coaching change that shocked me the most was John Fox. It looks like he is going to Chicago.

The Raiders have no where to go but up. .....is what I tell DH at the start of every season. he has been a fan all his life. when they were here in los angeles, he was a season ticket holder and since they've moved, we go to see games when they come to San Diego or are at home in Oakland. I remember spending my 10th anniversary watching the Conference playoffs in Oakland and watching Bo Jackson have a career ending injury on during the playoffs on the day I got married. football is cyclical and through time, even the bad teams will get back to the top by maturing their draft picks, getting better coaching, and acquiring players who are not at the end of their careers. I would love the Raiders to bring back Jon Gruden and I know the fans would love to have him back too. unfortunately, I think his Monday Night gig is too lucrative right now.

I think the Raiders are looking good - great new coach, good QB who has a ton of potential. Tons of salary cap space. They should be better. I personally think the 49ers made a mistake in getting rid of Harbaugh (and that's hard to say, I dislike him immensely as a Seattle fan). He did nothing but WIN there. I agree with krazyscrapper I think their biggest problem is their QB. They tried to make him something he isn't/wasn't. And instead of getting better, he's regressed. I'm not sure he'll ever be an elite QB. I think they made a huge mistake with Alex Smith, treating him the way they did, and sometimes karma just sucks. I also think Denver made a mistake getting rid of John Fox. But nothing Elway does surprises me, he's just kinda douchey that way.

No, when you go 8-8 in a season, that is not considered winning to 49er fans. I didn't care one way or another but the thing that pisses me off more than anything is the sportswriter who kept writing nasty columns about the Niners locker room troubles and how Harbough had to go. The day he left that same sportswriter said the Niners would live to regret that decision. He is a giant a$$hole in my book.
