I want to get a comfort bike to do 20 mile rides on with small short inclines so it needs to be multi-speed. However I want the bike to be cute! How come only beach cruisers come in fun pastel colors? I can't deal with their breaking system and hate the upright handle bars. Is it possible to get a regular bike in baby pink, lavender or sherbet?

I just bought an Electra Townie, 21 speed and I love it! It is bright blue. I had fenders put on it and I put a cute wicker basket and a fun bell on it.

I have an Electra Townie 7D (7 speed) and I LOVE it. Best $500 I ever spent. LOL. Mine is polar blue but they have a LOT of colors and the bike shop should be able to special order any of them. Mine also has fenders and a basket but mine is the wirey looking basket. I bought a bell but haven't put it on yet (have to find it).

I totally want a cute white wicker basket! I was hoping to spend less than $300 in case it's stolen. I mean I'll buy a lock but still I know plenty people that have their bikes cut out of the lock in daylight.

I love Public bikes. The colors are so cute and so is the styling.

I have this Lilly Pulitzer bike: ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v464/deebasile/lilly-pulitzer-bike_zpsceafad5f.jpg) And I love it. I get so many compliments on it. But it's one speed. It is most definitely a beach cruiser. I have a pretty little basket on the front and just love it.

Unfortunately I just don't like the feel of beach cruisers.

There is no point in me talking brands as we are in Oz, but we recently bought new bikes for everyone (3 of us) and I had to have the cute wicker basket on mine. Trouble is, I haven't ridden in quite a while and my bike has hit the ground a few times. So now my cute wicker basket is all banged up. I would go for the post-modern industrial metal one next time ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Have you been to a local bike shop? Maybe they can see what they can convert for you so you have the handlebars you prefer. They can also tell you if you can get something painted in more magical colors. You can also get more info on a better lock so you don't have to worry about it being cut off.
Like the rest of the crowd, I love my Townie. It has 21 speeds although I probably only use 7 of them.

I would suggest you buy the type of bike you need and doll it up with after market goodies.
