I am looking for a program that will let me add text and overlays to my photos just like the phone apps like (studio). Does anyone know of any?

Check out Fotor which seems to be free. www.fotor.com/windows8/Haven't used it myself (I use Photoshop Elements) but it looks like the kind of thing you're looking for.

Kat,you can use PSE to do that and more. You would open your photo and add anything and everything. You can find overlays at any digital scrap store and probably a few will be free. Also, you could just use the text feature to enter text. You can also find fonts to buy at digital stores or there are tons of free fonts on Dafont.com. Good Luck!
HTH!

Thanks You can definitely do that with PSE. Check out Pixels & Co for some fonts, including mobile ready fonts which also come with .pngs and Designer Digitals has all sorts of overlays and frames etc.

Photoshop will do all that but there is a learning curve. I took several classes from jessica sprague to learn how to use it.
I don't know any quick way like an app to do it. sorry

I don't know how to do it on an app, but I use Corel's Paint Shop Pro. (I started using it YEARS ago when it was owned by JASC). There's a learning curve because it's a new program, but it's so simple for me to use that I hauled my copy into work so I could edit with it when I needed to. If you decide to use PSP, keep an eye on their website for sales--they are constantly upgrading so when I got my version (X2, they are on X6) I paid only $15!!! The program is normally $99 but currently on sale for $80, but if you wait long enough, I am sure they will have another blow out. I love it because it's simple and does the basics that I am interested in doing graphic wise and photography wise--resizing photos, simple correction of color, font overlay, creating simple graphics, etc. The only reason I upgraded from my original Jasc version is because that version was so old it wouldn't run on the newer versions of Windows. I feel no need to upgrade from X2 because that version still does the basics I want to use it for. It's capable of fancier stuff, I just don't care to learn anything complicated.
