My cousin bought me a paper pad once. Horrible not my taste. Was a very thoughtful gift though. Its 12 x 12 and actually really thick paper. Its one sided. I use it to test stuff, I use it for the white side. I have inked up some edges and coloured it and changed the paper and used it. Its great to have tester page though. I think its a 120 sheet paper pad too.

I purge constantly! I keep a "yard sale" box in the basement and purge regularly. Trouble is, things I put in the yard sale box suddenly become the perfect stamp/paper/embellishment for a current project LOL!

I don't purge scrappy stuff. It makes me heartsick.
Twice in my scrappy lifetime I've had to sell off most of my scrap tools due to a financial pinch, and that made me very sad. I don't get rid of things to purge.

I'm not a purger. I look at every little thing I have and think 'Well maybe I might need it for something in the future'

Nope.....I'm not a purger either.
I'm finding stuff I used ten years ago is coming back in vogue, so that makes me happy lol. I have gifted some old paper which I did not really like to a rest home, and have some more which will go to a children's health initiative, but as for purge for the sake of it? No..... I like having the selection.

I am in the constant purger camp....My friends owns a cropping space and people love when I come in with my "purge"...I used to wait and "sell" things at tag sales, but then the boxes of unsold things get buried in my basement and uncovered years later I love to shop so I don't think I have time to miss what I purge!

I have to say that yes, I do purge. I've done a few big ones to get rid of stuff I bought back in '04 when I started and just didn't work for me. Then in '09 after a very large break I took (due to depression and personal issues) and I found I hated nearly everything I had. THAT was probably the depression talking, but also my style changing. And once again to weed out the last of the gifts that I had kept, guiltily holding on to things in case I could "make them work" but just said forget it. Now though, no, I don't purge. If I end up with a paper pack that has duplicates I'll split it with my nieces, but that's it. I purged my *packaging* and actually made everything I own fit into a small space. After that, there's just no need. I'll use it all, or get it smaller, eventually. I know I will. That's my goal this year: get the paper down to one Expedit cube!

I've never been much for purging, I'm more of a maybe I can make it work type of person.
But now with the Canadian dollar in the bad shape it's in, I'll be holding onto everything and working out of my stash mainly.

I don't purge often. I too like what I have. I too find it funny when I'm watching youtube videos and someone states that they're using something "old" that's been in their stash for 6 months, lol. Try several years! It's a running joke between my BFF and I that I won't use something until it has "fermented" in my stash, lol.
I recently decided to use some of the Basic Grey kits and other older stash and I've created youtube videos. My link is below!

Yup. I'm in that "I might need that someday" camp. I don't buy that much paper anymore though and that's probably the thing I should purge the most. I am trying very hard these days to use what I have and only buy absolute necessities. With the emphasis on TRYING! LOL

I haven't purged much during the 17 years I have been scrapping. I'm pretty attached to all of my supplies, and dig through them regularly for just the right thing. Now that I have dedicated, organized studio, I scrap more than ever, but I have been adding more than I'm using. At some point, I might have to be willing to part with some Hot Off the Press paper pads and Mrs. Grossman stickers...

I do not purge. I am really cheap at heart. I don't like to think that I am "losing" that money. I am in the make it work camp. I can paint, gesso, ink, spray, cut apart, etc. anything I do not like. Even really old stickers that I don't really like can be used on the back of envelopes when I send out a card.

I had a whole ton of Fimo I bought at Michaels years, years and years ago. Yeah a LOT time ago. I gave that to my aunt for her granddaughters to play with. She daycares them one day a week. I also placed an order from a company long gone called Creations by Watts that used to buy up retired Jolee's from stores that were closing and sell them really cheaply. (They were like Peachy Cheap and Flowers to Flourishes etc but years ago...). I did place a few orders there and realistically I am not going to be doing that many CM albums with Mrs. Grossman's stickers, Disney Princess layouts (I have a son) so an Aladdin layout maybe??? He didn't like Aladdin like I loved Aladdin. He thought The Lion King was all right. I loved The Lion King. So I doubt I will be doing any Disney layouts anymore and won't need them. So I did purge a bit of stuff. I don't count that as purging. Purging is going through my sticker drawer and being ruthless. This was taking out duplicates and triplicates. (Yeah, don't ask maybe k? Thanks).

"Purge" is such an ugly word! I refuse to say it, much less do it

I second your note about the packaging, Aeryn. I am in the process of organizing my scrap room and while my stash spans the last 15 years, I do still like most of it, and am trying to find a use for most all of it (even the less desirable bits). So I didn't want to necessarily purge the supplies, but I did have to fit it into a certain space. I found that I had kept most things in the package to keep them nice, but what a waste of space! It is amazing how much extra room getting things out of the packages has created. And, as a bonus, I find that once I got them out of the packages I'm more apt to actually use the things!
