Just curious if you are using your enamel dots? I have made "quite a few", and liberally use them on my layouts!

I use them, and just bought another package today with some striped ones and some different colours. My dd has used the beads often too, so it's a good purchase all around!

I did see some new striped beads at joanns within the past month and added them to my collection. It does make it easy to pass up any of the expensive enamel dots!

I can't get them work for me - they look like warped Cheerios. I wonder if it is the altitude. I've tried two different kinds. The pony beads work for me, and I've tried other plastic beads that have turned out quite well.

They have been great to use on cards and I let my daughter use them on her crafts. Also, both the kids do projects with the beads in their original form so no loss to me for having all those perlers!

I bought a ton of them from the Perler/EK Success website but only did the colors I needed for a page kit I was working on. The striped ones are so cute, I ordered them in every color I could get! I haven't had much of a chance to try melting all the colors I bought. Once I do I'll definitely use them. On a related note, has anyone tried using the pen thing to put them on the pan? It's such a pain to get them to all stand up on end.

I use them a lot on my PL layouts, especially last year since it had bright colours from AT's Sketchbook. I use Glossy Accents to put them on and I cook them in a toaster oven outside (no smell that way).

I've used some on a few LOs. Ironically, my youngest DD and her friends (ages 18-20) saw the unmelted perler beads out and decided to start making their creations (the normal way) with them. Used up all the black and yellows.

I made quite a few and used a few of them. Then the grandchildren spotted them in my little drawers and they used LOTS of them on their cute projects. So it's time to do some more baking!

I found tiny little glue dots on Joann.com that work great for the dots. It is Bling zots if anyone needs it!

The PL layout I used them on where you can see them the most is this one: www.aerynkelly.com/2014/04/project-life-2014-week-14.html All of those are from my first batch too, which I was surprised they came out so well. I just grabbed a random handful and it worked with that month's PL kit card colours. I've used them almost exclusively on my 2013 PL layouts but I don't have photos of them because I wasn't going to put them up on my site. :/

I was unable to make them with perler beads but had good results using some plastic beads - some shapes like flowers, others round. Here are some examples: These one looked like crystals before they were melted. They have more of an odor when you melt them - so save them for times you have ventilate. These were flower shaped and make good little water droplets. These were small crystal shaped beads. The green ones were crystal shaped. I like how they turned out. They are more glass looking than perler beads, but that is okay. Try other beads if you can't get the perler beads to work. I wonder if they don't work for me because of the high altitude. They end up looking like plastic cheerios.

Yes! I need a couple different batches and they turned out awesome. My kids like to use them on their projects and I don't have to say "no no no that's too expensive!" Lol
