I got a few inches but it definitely sounds like at least one snow day coming this week. Guess I should fill up the gas can for the snow blower. No way I want to shovel a foot of snow!

Not yet...we got about 6 inches but are getting ready in case the big one actually happens over the next few days.
I am so glad our new grandson made his appearance yesterday instead of Tuesday when he was scheduled!

Yup the big one is coming and expecting a snow day on Tuesday and at least a 2 hr delay on Wednesday. The storm we had yesterday lasted longer than expected but it didn't amount to more than 5-6 inches.
53 DAYS until Spring. This time of year always makes me wonder why I live in the Northeast. I don't like the snow...at all.

This is looking to be a coastal storm, so east CT, Long Island, RI, and coastal Mass are getting the brunt of it.

DH got the snow off the driveway late yesterday afternoon, and then I helped him with scraping off all the slush before it froze up. But I'm still not driving today. Black ice. There was a fatal car crash in my town yesterday.

We got about 5" yesterday. They are saying we could get a foot or more starting tomorrow and ending Wednesday. That's us. Depending on the model used, we're supposed to get anywhere from 12" to 36". We're hearing words like "historical" and "epic" to describe the storm. Good times here! I'm already planning on Tuesday off and possibly Wednesday depending on the actual snow fall. My commute is an hour and I've reached that point in life where I just won't go if my commuting time is going to be almost half a day.

Similar to many others - only about 6 inches yesterday but doing lots of clean up today in anticipation of one to two FEET on Tuesday. Braving the grocery store will be the hardest part!

About five inches fell here yesterday. I'm grateful for our working snow blower. I told my husband that he needs to start thinking about where we'll move, that doesn't have snow, when he retires.

I agree about the grocery store. We're down to two slices of bread, enough peanut better for two sandwiches and a few granola bars. Definitely not enough provisions if we were to lose power.

ugh! I've been so out of touch the last two days. DS has to be in Boston at noon and Shrewsbury at 4. When will I have time to grocery shop?
We got about 5 inches yesterday. It didn't slow us down at all.
DS is going to be happy. He didn't have school Thurs, Fri, or tomorrow (midterms and teacher days) so it'll be almost a week if we add snow days to that!

WE had a slushy 2 inches on Saturday but are getting 2 feet Monday into Tuesday. I am dreading the supermarket.

Stay safe! I have to say that I sometimes think the weather reporting is filled with so much hyperbole anymore that I never know when to take them seriously. Most of the so called super storms that have hit us recently were your basic "I live in the snowbelt, so this is normal" type storms. I think I'm getting old and crotchety...

One to two feet "potentially historic" starting tomorrow. Just went to the grocery store, so we're ready! is two feet historic or is it because it is going to drop in a small amount of time? While 2 feet is nothing to scoff at and sucks to shovel, I wonder what makes it historic (open to all) also in regard to the snow days, is tomorrow already scheduled off?

Not yet. We received about 6 inches yesterday, and my DS's early morning activity was cancelled. But by 11 my DH & the boys were off to another activity, so it didn't keep us in. It wasn't cold at all and it wasn't windy, either. So after they returned home it was the perfect play outside in the snow kind of day. In fact they just came back in from sledding now. The hot chocolate aroma is wafting through the room as I type. Now, this stuff headed towards New England in a few days could be a different story depending on how the storm progresses.

We got about 4 inches yesterday but we're in the 18-24 inch range for the Monday/Tuesday storm. Not looking forward to it. I've been trying to convince DH to agree to a snow blower (not that we'd get it in time for this storm). He is in chemo and shouldn't be out there shoveling snow.....that leaves me to do it. Ugh. I don't wanna! But I will.

None too pleased with this forecast.
I just looked and saw 24-36 inches for NYC. Really trying to convince dd she must come home after her morning class on Monday because things really may be cancelled in the city on Tuesday and it will be dangerous to come on Monday night.

I'm in Brooklyn, NY and they are expecting 1/2 feet of snow just here. I've got my food, water and snacks. Gonna go to work tomorrow but will probably leave early and work from home on Tuesday. Everyone stay safe.
