Mine do it with their heads/nose. They do it on purpose, then glance around the living room in satisfaction.

Definitely! On the rare occasion that I make my bed fully there are 6-8 different pillows on there. Within an hour they are all arranged in a new way that is pleasing to my dog - some on the floor, some at the end of the bed, some upside down.

No, but he nudges them from how they should be so that they are down flat so he can curl up on them like the true princess pup he knows he is. He is a descendant of Chinese Royalty after all.

No. Instead, she lays on top of them and squashes them down.

My dog licks the couch. Incessantly. He's licking it right now…

Yes, they make a nest on the couch. They dig in circles and knock pillows off. They go round and round until they are comfortable. They are weird. (they weren't allowed on the furniture until my mom decided the little boy was too lonely down on the floor by himself...then the bed, then everywhere.)

Not here. My parents flip up the cushions to keep her off of their couch. She just knocks them on the floor and gets on anyway.

Don't have dogs but my 4 year old throws the pillows off every damn time he sits on the couch. Does that count? :DHe does it with all parts of his body, head, feet, hands.

Yes, but they are either on top of them or they want to be underneath them. When they are trying to get under them, they flip off sometimes. I usually pick them up and put them back on to of them.
Silly dogs!!

My dog licks the couch. Incessantly. He's licking it right now… My dog does this too - all the time and it drives me bonkers. Sometimes she lies on the floor licking her bed. With? As for pillows, she believes al pillows were placed on a surface for her to lie done on. I used to like to lay material on the floor to cut patterns but that is impossible with a border collie believing all fabrics are placed there for her delight. And I allow it. I perpetuate her habits haha

Don't have a dog, but my toddler thinks the sofa pillows all belong on the floor. All the time.

My dog is not allowed on the couch, so he pulls the pillows to the floor so he can use them!!!

We got new furniture a couple of weeks ago, and aren't letting him on the new couch. He is not impressed with us about that. But before the new furniture, he'd jump on the pillows to make them lie flat. Then he'd curl up on one and rest. It drove him nuts to see them sitting up against the back cushions.

The people we bought our house from asked if we could use a decent Thomasville couch that wouldn't fit in their new (downsized) house, so we said "Sure!" since we were moving from a tiny place into a bigger one. Turned out our dogs LOVED dismembering the cushions from that couch several times daily! Drove me totally INSANE. I bought a couch cover thinking that would help. Um, nope! That would be dragged to the floor too. Then a friend was changing out some furniture at their house, and they gave us a matching overstuffed chair and love seat with non-removable cushions. We took the Thomasville couch to our cabin, and the OLD old one from there straight into the firepit. Now that they can't throw the couch cushions onto the floor anymore, they have started going into MY chair at night after I go to bed, and they routinely boot my big pillow onto the floor. I've started putting a laundry basket in my chair at night to keep them all the heck OFF of it! (And I cut open the cover on my previously non-washable pillow along the side seam, threw out all the stinky dog smelling stuffing, replaced it with a new pillow form and sewed a zipper in the cover to make it removeable--and therefore washable! Take that, you furry little jerks!)

My family room couch is leather and the top of the back cushion is zippered to the main couch itself. There are a couple of loose throw pillows, two in leather and two in fabric. I usually remove the pillows closest to my recliner to put them on my lap to balance my ipad on. I usually take the other two off the other end of the couch and put them on another chair while we're in there. Since there are no pillows for him to toss off, he noses the center cushion up from the couch backing and wriggles his way back under it and into the little cavity he makes when he lays down back there. The front of the couch looks perfectly normal and if you hadn't seen the dog go back there, you wouldn't know. He's gotten squished a few times by someone leaning on the couch without knowing he is in there.
I like to pretend I don't know either and I call out for him. The center couch cushion begins to wiggle and I can hear his tail slapping the back of it. He'll let me call for a while, then he pops out quickly and if he could, he'd say "TaDa!" because that's the look on his face when he does it. Cracks me up every time.

When did it become ok for the dogs to take over the beds and the couches and everywhere? Any noise that gets made gets attended to STAT. There is no waiting. No go sit and wait. It is BARK and JUMP. Feed the dogs, let the dogs outside. Move over so the dog can sit beside you. The dog looks lonely/cold let her up on the bed, lift the old man up on the bed (he is heavy!!!), etc. Now I know who's fault this is. She is the one who stayed home with the first one all day long and babied him just a little too much. Then the second one came and she fell in love with the second one just as much.
But the furniture situation? Anyone remember that? NO DOGS ON THE FURNITURE? Yeah how long did that last? I am sure the couch smells like dog. (We used to keep heavy blankets down on the couches but I don't know what happened to them). The whole house is DOG central. There are only 2 of them, too. That's the crazy thing!

We don't have any toss pillows on our couches but if anything else is on there (blanket, backpack, jacket), that is left by the dd's, Lucy will just lay on top of it ... she probably wishes we had pillows

When he could still get UP on the couch yes!! He would flip, dig, flatten and needed to make a nest. When I decided I wanted him OFF the couch I put bigger pillow up there to block him from jumping up. Fail! He then started climbing up, knocking down all the pillows, then tipping down the CUSHIONS and sleeping on them. A white couch! Thank god for IKEA slipcovers.

Oh yes. Several times a day. He'll wait for me to put them all back in place, and then sneak back into the room to 'rearrange' them.

Neither of mine toss them off the couch, but one crawls across them and lies on them. He's been spoken to several times about his junk being on my pillows...he seems not to care though.

No, mine lay on them. Which is why I try to remember to keep them up on the top of the couch to keep them off of them.
